  • About damn time! We are happy to have him aboard. Go AL!

    T.
  • Off topic, but LMAO...
A former bundler to Hillary Clinton just called in to tell me that Barack Obama's selection of Patti Solis Doyle as chief of staff to the campaign's eventual vice presidential nominee is the biggest fuck you I have ever seen in politics.
  • Why he took so long? *rolling my eyes* He could have BEEN endorsed Obama but whatever, thanks Al.
  • So Tweety is featuring an Irish Catholic party on Hardball in memory of Tim Russert.

According to them, old-school Irish Catholics are the best cops, the best prosecutors.

    They're a self-congratulatory mess.

I can't believe this mess is on TV.

This doesn't celebrate Tim Russert's memory.
  • The only benefit I see is if this gets some environmentally conscious voters on Team Obama. Al would've endorsed any Dem.
  • On Tweety: this just proves my point about him, about Russert, about the sorry state of journalism.

Off topic: will SOMEONE tell Michelle Obama to stick to the basics. When you're trying to sway middle dumbass America, don't submit crazy recipes to Family Circle while Cindy McCain submits oatmeal cookies. Sloppy Joe, mac and cheese...call it a day.
  • About Solis Doyle:

They needed a high level Latino. And, her brother is big in Latino Chicago politics and has known Axelrod for years. I'm not sure this is pretext to A Unity Ticket. It's a way to put her name out there, without her actually doing anything of substance that she could hurt the Obama campaign with NOW. By the time there IS a VP pick, they Obama campaign should be up and running on all cylinders. Note that you haven't seen any one else in Camp Clinton hired.
  • Many are reporting this hire means there's no chance for A Unity Ticket.
  • Rikyrah,

No. We won't see anyone else from Camp Clinton. Because they will all have jobs over at Fox News. (Lanny Davis)

-I guess AL Gore's endorsing Obama ranks as # 2 then.
  • Gore's endorsement is coming in Detroit.

That could be symbolic as well.
  • Webb,

    Too funny! lol!

    Stop!!
  • I know that I'm a big Michelle Obama fan, but I don't see anything wrong or "crazy" about her Shortbread Cookie recipe.

At least she gives proper credit (it's from the girls' godmother Mama Kaye) and didn't, er uh Re-heat another Whopper
  • The Gore endorsement will be broadcast ~8:30 ET

On Gore's website, he is asking his supporters to donate to Obama's campaign.
  • Could be the Clinton's are still working behind the scenes. The Gore endorsement would be a nail in that coffin.

Now, what does the Gore endorsement have to do with Carville coming out recently, and suggesting Gore as VP?

Ron Paul says he won't be endorsing McCain, nor does he "intend" to endorse Obama.
  • Christofer Chambers,

What's so crazy about shortbread cookies..LOL. So they're fancied up with lemon zest and nuts..cookies for when company's coming, rather than for the kids. Unless Sasha & Malia have sophisticated taste buds.

Cindy's were from Hershey.com. I can't see Cindy baking cookies. I can see her whipping out the credit card to order gourmet ones on the internet though. How'd you think they got 100 grand in credit card debt anyway?
  • Truthseeker: most American voters are Hershey.com. Wake up. Before it's too late.

Cindy's not an issue and I'll bet you a ton of lemon zest she won't be.
  • "Truthseeker: most American voters are Hershey.com. Wake up. Before it's too late."

Yeah, I better snap out of it quick.
  • I really was not waiting on Al's endorsement. It seems more symbolic than anything. Al does not move to many folks to vote.

    Christopher chambers

I understand your premise, but maybe it is because I am a woman and I go to recipe websites, but there are 1000 ways to make delicious little cookies. And that my friend is very "all american".

Do yo work in corporate america, because my white coworkers bring all kinds of concoctions to the potlucks! And a lemon zested, shortbread cookies sounds like just the cookie they would bring.
  • I'm lovin' it. It speaks volumes and his speech was on point with some very important themes. Thank you Al Gore!!

  • watching gore talk was just about unbearable.

to think what might have been, where we could have been as a nation absent george bush.

    heartbreaking.
  • Can someone explain to me why Gore's endorsement is so important? I don't get it. It seems like a day late and a dollar short to me. Was he waiting to try to protect his "friendship" with the Clintons?
