Correct, Miranda. All the physicians I served with were commissioned as captains, specifically those who had med school paid for by the military.

Just a second - if he went to medical school on the military's dime and had to pay back 'time' - he would have come in as a captain -depending on his specialty. First lieutenant at the very least. All the doctors I knew and worked with who were drafted or had medical school paid for by the military were commissioned as captains.
