Jack and Jill Politics: An Evil Old Racist Finally Dies - Elegy for Jesse Helms

  • ubstu34 · 1 year ago
I think it is fitting that Obama's family attended a parade in the predominately white state of Montana the day he died. Perhaps some of what he represented has died with him.

Oooh___ Jill, we need to wait at least a year before knowing whether Jesse tapped the "uh, chocolate milk," ...It was at least a year after Strom's death before his mulatto daughter came to the forefront.

Helm's disposition was particularly nasty and racist, singing Dixie to Carol Moseley Braun in elevators to make her cry. Surely, miscegenation (mixing races) would be a GREAT SIN, but bestiality with farm animals, namely NC pigs would be okay? Right??? Oh, I'm so glad that I swore off "the other white meat."

Where ya at D? Seems I'm not the only one who's glad this devil is gone.
  • D. · 1 year ago
    Yes, Helms was a racist.

You guys have fun, but I see no reason to spit-or anything else-on the man's grave. That's disrespectful, and I don't care whether you liked him or not.

He's dead. Let him rest in peace. I'm certain you all have someone to kick around in his place.

Guess it's a good thing God forgives, huh?
  • Webb · 1 year ago
Should Hitler rest in peace? Should "massas" who whipped their slaves rest in peace? Should lynch mob members who lynched my people rest in peace?

That's not for me to decide, b/c "Vengeance belongs to G+d," and I recognize His Power to condemn souls to Heaven or H_ll. Helms got eternity to exist wherever he is.

I was at the Yankee-Red Sox game when I heard the news. What a great day. The amazing thing is how people are continuing to describe him as this courtly Southern gentleman and continue to gloss over how divisive a figure he really was.

This man caused more damage in his lifetime than any controversial black leader you can name could do in 10. Yet he's still lionized? Unreal.

    May he rot in hell.

The old "mindset" is starting to die off, the Barry Goldwater, Richard Nixon and Ronald Regan triangle of the politics of division and hate. The signal should be loud and clear that the White race is graying in the G-7 countries so African Americans plant seeds in the minds of the children to be Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. DuBois and Marcus Garvey all in one. The NEW GLOBAL PAN-AMERICAN MIND FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM.

No remorse. I can't even wish his family sympathy.

July 4, 2008 was a good day for America. R.I.P. you racist bastard!

Good riddance, Helms! Do us all a favor and stay dead!
  • DoctorRoger · 1 year ago
Well, D., I don't believe in an imaginary sky-friend, so the question of forgiveness lies squarely with us. He never apologized for his virulent, vitriolic racism, his homophobia, his outright bigotry. He was a vile, twisted fucktard and, as far as I'm concerned, he didn't die soon enough. I see no reason to "respect" someone who bore nothing but ill-will towards people like me. Respect is earned, not bestowed.

It's still disconcerting to me that everyone gets up in arms about Helm's racism, but not his heterosexism. I personally felt the sting of the Helms anti-homosexual lash in the '80's and let me tell you, I have nothing but joy in my heart that he no longer lives on this earth. By the way, I still kick Hitler and he's dead. I don't consider the Helm's situation to be that much different.
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
I guess you missed where I called him a homophone on another thread. Plenty of people are up in arms about all of is ism's.

Nelson Mandela is a communist. We who are Americans first and not like you, the real racists, say so what about Nelson Mandela. You probably love him but hate Clarence Thomas who we love, because he isn't part of the Boo Hoo movement and cares about all Americans first.

The "boo hoo movement." I guess that would be what this tired old buzzard spouted for all of his political career:

"Boo hoo, the country is changing."
"Boo hoo, blacks are no longer slaves."
"Boo hoo, people should be free to be who they are, to love who they love."
"Boo hoo, there is, increasingly, no room for the kind of hateful venom that has rotted my soul."

Ding dong, one more fucking witch dead. May he burn along with Falwell and so many of the other wretched, vicious, soul-murdering bastards who deserve to get dead so they can come face to face with their evil deeds.

I hope Helms' family gets a proper drainage/sewage system for Jesse's final resting place, because I anticipate more than a few folk can't wait to give him a fitting "tribute."

    JIM,

Robert Byrd apologized and repudiated his racists ways and for his membership in the KKK. As you well know when Robert Byrd ran for office in West Virginia in the 50's you had to out-n$$g#r your opponent in order to win. When he came face to face with real live African Americans who were not caracitures, but living, thinking people did he realize that he had been demonizing an entire race of people out of nothing more than pure hatred. Even after he repudiated his racism he was re-elected from West Virigina.

Now when you want to throw out one of your talking points, don't try that here because someone will put it in context, something that I think you fully understand, but hope that the people who read this page don't.

Welcome JIM, to an African-American (Black) blog that doesn't fall for the old okiedoke.

Continue to read and be educated, you might learn something.

    JJP,

We who read your blogs daily and well aware of the positive, intellectual and thought provoking discussion that goes on here, but apparently Zeb Vance, can muster nothing more than his profane-laced retort in response.

People, we must be doing something right. We have a right-wing, racist poster whose typical response is not unexpected.

Here's a nice little rundown of the "man of North Carolina." Be sure to scroll down through all of the revolting accolades of today's press to the fact of Helms: vicious racist, homophobe, sexist, mean, sadistic bastard. It's as tidy a summary of his "greatest hits" as I've seen to date.

Fuck-off all you dumbshits out there. Jesse Helms was a man of North Carolina and elected by the people of North Carolina - over and over and over again. If you don't like Jesse Helms then you don't like the people of North Carolina because we voted him into office to fulfill our wishes and he did.
  • Cali Ice · 1 year ago
If he were so beloved, why did he win by razor thin margins? He suppossedly fuffilled the wishes of only a little more than half of the electorate.
  • DoctorRoger · 1 year ago
    Aaaand...what wishes were those, Zeb?
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
That was before black votes knew their vote meant something; it's over for your kind Zeb!
