I would like to point out, owing to hate mongering such as this, that Santorum became defined at "a frothy mixture of fecal matter and lube resulting after gay sex." His staff apparently finds this hilarious and titter behind his back constantly.

Also, do you ever notice how often the Republicans fighting to ban homosexuality are the ones busted soliciting men in airport bathrooms/the intern pool? They doth protest too much.

I especially love the way he talks about gay marriage like it's some sort of epidemic that the courts are allowing to run rampant. Like our kids are going to be getting all gay married-up just because it's the cool new thing to do. It's going to be the next generation's equivalent to the hybrid car or crocs (depending on your personal views).

I guess I'll just say that, yes, opposing gay marriage and other gay rights DOES make you a bigot. If you're imposing on another person's rights by using your assumptions about them as "proof" that they're bad/wrong/otherwise negative, then that's the very definition of being a bigot, my friend.

Meanwhile, what in the hell does gay marriage do to Christians? Nothing. Oh, except undermine their authority and make them nervous. Big whoop.

Here's my response to the religious right's opposition to gay marriage. Social conservatives associate the term "gay lifestyle" with promiscuity. So if some gay and lesbian couples are in a committed enough relationship that they want to get married, don't freakin' complain!

For starters, the title of the post is - of course - an oxymoron. And no, Ricky, that doesn't imply any Rick-on-ox sex

My 2 favourite parts of the email:
1) where he tells us that NOM's plan includes "a sophisticated issue ad campaign", just after you pointed out that he chose the word "sophisticated" to describe the shadowy network of gay activists because of it's heightened sense of gayness.

2) his very Freudian description of students in public schools as "captive children". I guess he's comparing them to those independent home-schooled kids.

Then he accidentally slips some truth into his pitch:
"Protestants, Catholics, Jews and Muslims who see marriage as the union of husband and wife, and view sexual activity as best confined to marriage so defined, are in the exact position as racists under California law"

Yes, they are. They can think whatever they want, but if the act on those beliefs in certain ways, then they will be breaking the law. Bonus points to Ricky for actually *pretending* to be concerned about Muslims, even if it's driven by greed.

My wife and I have been married for almost 25 years and have had many gay and lesbians friends. My kids have inter-acted with these friends and never have they attempted to convert or convice them to switch sides. My children have learned a valuable lesson here, gays are just like the rest of us and thier relationships have the same ups and downs as the rest of us.
