Did you notice he tapped her on the butt as she walked away. That cracked me up!

They are great together, authentic. Others took a different view:

“Michelle is not as ‘refined’ as Obama at hiding her TRUE feelings about America—etc. Her ‘Hezbollah’ style fist-jabbing ...”—Human Events

I love this picture. It's sliding right next to the one of her hugging him from behind in New Hampshire as my favorite pic of this couple.

Oh, I hope The Black Snob hasn't let me down and has a photo diary of them in St. Paul..LOL

Which one will claim that Barack and Michelle were using some secret black power fist gang signal to call blacks worldwide to arms?

    Sean Hannity?

    Geraldine Ferraro?

    Pat Buchanan?

My mom squealed with delight when they did that. Won't be it be cool to have a President and First Lady that genuinely love each other?

Here's something I found on Slate.com today to make you guys giggle. :-)

    --------------

The presidential campaign—well, one in particular—has introduced a new greeting to the political world: the fist pound (also known as daps). Last night, we saw perhaps the most high-profile pound of all time, as Michelle and Barack Obama bumped fists on national television before he took the stage.

What’s hilarious is watching the formal, AP Stylebook-loving media trying to figure out what to call it. In an article about Obama’s body man Reggie Love, the New York Times called Love’s preferred greeting a “closed-fisted high-five.” Last night produced other assorted references:

“Taking a fist-pound from wife Michelle, Obama stepped to the podium Tuesday”—MTV.com

“Michelle Obama (L) gives her husband, Democratic presidential candidate U.S. Senator Barack Obama, a knuckle-bump as a sign of support before he speaks to supporters.”—Monsters and Critics

“At 09:09:27 Central Time, Michelle Obama gave Barack Obama a pound in St. Paul, Minnesota.”—Lola New York

“I never realized how romantic and respectful and mutually appreciative and loving a frat-tastic fist bump could be. Could it be the new peck-on-the-cheek?”—The Frisky

“... Obama, who was joined on stage by his wife Michelle, with whom he shared a celebratory fist-bump.”—Reuters

“Obama, began with a loving fist to fist thumbs up with Michelle.”—Capitol Hill Blue

“Michelle is not as ‘refined’ as Obama at hiding her TRUE feelings about America—etc. Her ‘Hezbollah’ style fist-jabbing ...”—Human Events

“I loved that moment, when they touched their hands together like that.” --Commenter, bjkeefe

Hold on, I'm bout to put on some Blackstreet "Good Lovin'" after that photo. Suki suki. Damn, Quiet Storm in the White House.

Not only the dap, but they often touch each other like a normal loving couple who are young and unafraid to show they are truly are in love. I love it! I think it's great when he holds the small of her back as they walk or he touches his shoulder and they way they look at each other, you know it's genuine. Could it finally be that at long last we'll have "real people" in the White House?
  • Rowdy · 1 year ago
Sorry... "or SHE touches his shoulder..."

I think as more people get to really see Michelle, she will become a huge asset to this campaign. And, that is one great pic.

I love the way they relate to each other. It seems so rare among political couples that we see a couple that genuinely exudes love and affection for one another, rather than just a sense of duty.

I love the way Barack looks at his wife and speaks about his wife - you can tell that he really adores and respects her as the black queen she is. As a black woman that is a beautiful thing to see.

Reportedly, Barack is going home this Saturday (after he and Hill have their unity photo op) and going on a date with his wife. Love them to pieces.

He has you all fooled. What a shame. What is the white equivalent of "Black Bourgeois perspective"?

More sad days ahead for black fold. I don't know what's more offensive, bourgeois or NEGRO (or the slang, if you prefer).
