Jack and Jill Politics: Bill Clinton Says There are TWO Patriots in this Race…and guess who’s NOT included?

Everything the Clintons do is calculated! Bill knows exactly what he's doing & he doesn't give a f%%%! There is no slip of the tongue with these mofos! The end justifies the means!

I am no longer outraged at the Clinton's because outrage requires a reaction to a certain standard of behavior that has been breached, and the Clinton's don't have one.

I was reading the comments on the Obama blog this morning. Evidently at an Obama rally in OR, he was being introduced by a retired Air Force General, who called out Bill on his comments, while reminding Bill that HE had been tagged by the right wing over patriotism issues when he was running for President.

Definitely wasn't subtle. Every time he and Hills drool all over McCain it blows me away. Thats just how much they are willing to do whatever it takes. I don't see McCain putting on his kneepads for Hills.

Voting party line just doesn't cut it. I tried to talk my mom and her boyfriend out of it, they say they will vote for Hillary if she wins.

I don't know what it takes for us to see voting over 90% for the same party is political suicide. Everyone doesn't have to leave the Democratic party but I did.

These Dems are defense only. You have to play offense to win a game too. And no matter how much I hate the Bush politics, they went out there and did what they set out to do. The Dems don't have the balls to do it. Only playing defense is the same as status quo and I don't see how most Black people can say they like things as they are.

We do it to ourselves every time we vote for trifling ass Democrats. We need to vote in the right kind of Democrat in the first place so we won't feel like holding our noses when we vote.

The Democrats in office do not have the same guts and vision as the Democratic voters. Might as well be two different parties.

Every time Republicans get in office its like Black folks just walk to the sideline. We have to stay in the game and adjust to the rules to make them benefit us no matter who is in charge. But we don't. We give up.

A vote for Hillary and Bill is a vote for convention chaos. Chaos period.

The Clinton camp is just trying to take as much advantage of the Reverend Wright news ordeal as much as possible.

I am taking my mother's advice and just waiting for things to blow over.

Justice: You're right-- the Clintons have no integrity, but they are calculating.

Speaking of which, by indirectly stating that Hillary and grandpa McCain are the true patriots in the race, Bill Clinton is pandering to the not-so-latent racist conscientiousness of the White ethnics of Pennsylvania. He's thinking for these white ethnic saying to them:

"Why is Barack not patriotic? Because he's sit in church listening to his unpatriotic black minister for 20 years. That's why.

Because he's gone to a Muslim school. That's why. But he's not a Muslim...as far as I know."

Some white ethnics are ignorant enough to believe this crap. But, ultimately, what the Clinton team wants to do is get Hillary to win by double digits in Pennsylvania. Then they can argue to the super delegates that only Hillary can win the big states, the states that matter most to democrats.

If Hillary should, by some political deception, win the democratic nominee, i'm writing writing in Cynthia McKinney.
  • IdeaSharer · 1 year ago
Don't worry, Obama has this in the bag. You won't have to even think about voting for the Clintons. In the mean time, lets keep calling people in Pennsylvania.
  • B-Serious · 1 year ago
    @craig hickman,

    THANK YOU!

That's what bothers me with the Democratic leadership. Hillary's ONLY path to the nomination involves fracturing the party.

    Think about it:

    1. She'd have to seat the MI and FL delegates as is, which would require a brawl at the convention.

    2. She'd have to get the supers to reverse the primary elections, which would alienate AT LEAST half of the the Democratic Party.

You take this to August and you're left with just two months to unite the party, woo independents/swing voters and plan an offensive against the Republicans. It ain't gonna happen!

Thank God for those two recent articles on politico and the nytimes that basically say it's over.

Why are the Democrats twiddling their thumbs on this? Are they that scared of the Wright controversy? With all the skeletons in the Clintons' closet, they're gonna get caught up on Resko and Wright??? Give me a break!

John Edwards, Mitt Romney, Giuliani . . . basically EVERYONE (except Huckabee) left the race before they had to. Why? Because the MATH wasn't there. No. NOT the popular vote math. The delegate math. They didn't try to recreate reality. They accepted defeat and stepped aside for the good of the Party.

What makes Hillary so special? She and her supporters are the only ones who haven't been forced to face the music. Listen, every time the media uses the words "close" "tight" or "horse race," they're lying! I repeat, what makes Hillary so special?

Mike Huckabee, although he stayed in the race, didn't use that time to tear down the Republican frontrunner and his party like Hillary has.

Message to the Democratic Party: THIS IS WHY YOU LOSE! I'm an Independent, and I'll tell you, the thing that keeps me from backing the Party is their lack of conviction. You have no spine. How do I know? You can't even stand up to the Clintons. They've been pimp slapping the DNC since Feb. 5th.

John Edwards, Howard Dean, Al Gore, Joe Biden, Jimmy Carter . . . WHERE ARE YOU!?!?

    @ ideasharer,

I'm with ya. But that would mean the Democratic leadership shows some spine. Beside Richardson and Pelosi, I don't see anyone stepping up to the plate.

But I hear ya. By any standard of objectivity and political decorum, this thing is over!
  • John Shreffler · 1 year ago
The Clintones sure have worked up that dog-whistle sorta racist message that can only be heard by the sensitive ears of White-boy bigots, haven't they? I'm White myself and I'm hip. I lived for 5 years on Chicago's South Side with my eyes open and Rev. Wright has a lot of patience and Christian forgiveness in him that the KKK-Chorus ain't getting. I read his 911 Sermon and he was just preaching the gospel, as he should. This latest bit with BIll is just about the one thousandth piece of Cracker sh*t too many. I'm not voting for Hillary either. We all may need a new party. God save us all!
  • B-Serious · 1 year ago
Also, I'm glad to see that the Obama camp responded to this latest swipe by Bill Clinton. General McPeake (sp?), an Obama supporter, spoke up at an Obama town hall meeting today. He called Bill on his bs.

My only issue is this. . . Obama better start doing a better job at sticking up for himself.

I'm all for staying above the frey, but self-defense is human nature. My only fear is that Obama sometimes puts TOO MUCH faith in the American people. Sometimes you gotta speak up. Forget the debates.

    Examples:

    1. Obama's camp should have been all over Clinton the moment she even entertained the idea of counting FL and MI. He should have had surrogates on tv waiving the DNC pledge with her signature on it. He should have told the media that, although he feels for the people in MI and FL, the time to protest was LAST YEAR when the decision was made public.

    2. Obama should have been a little clearer on the super delegate issue. He left an opening by urging them to vote their districts. He should have kept it simple: The person with the most pledged delegates wins. Easy as that. The super delegates should act as a means of ratifying the front-runner to nominee status. But he left himself open, which leaves him open to criticism from Hillary supporters over people like Kerry, Deval Patrick, Kennedy and now Richardson.

    3. At the time Obama won 11 straight, Obama should have had his surrogates out there demanding that Hillary step down for the good of the party. But, even today, they still haven't done that. What gives? I guarantee you, if Hillary wins PA by more than 15% you're gonna see her go there. Toughen up!

    4. Politically speaking, Obama should have spotted Wright and Resko a mile away. I still think he's done a good job. But this shouldn't have been as big an issue as it turned out to be.

Listen, I'm a big Obama supporter. I will not vote for Hillary. Neither will my family. But we're tired of seeing the Clintons get away with stuff. We're tired of seeing them change the goal posts and alter reality to fit their needs. No one ever calls her out. What gives?

If you think that the Clintons EVER say something accidental, you were born yesterday.. He meant to say EXACTLY what he said - in Bill's world there are only two candidates that are patriotic [and Barack isn't one of the two].. he is speaking to and trying to play up the fear/uneasiness/apprehension that some of the blue collar Pennsylvanian voters may feel toward Barack - So, thank you Bill Richardson, for not just endorsing Barack - but for calling the Clintons out on their race baiting tactics... and what does the Clinton campaign say about the endorsement? According to the Clinton campaign, Richardson can't have any impact NOW - now that Texas is over... again, another flat out racist comment... The Clintons believe that Bill Richardson is ONLY of use BECAUSE he is an Hispanic and that use is only with Hispanics - disgusting... Now how many Americans have the Clintons dissed? 1) African/Americans; 2) Hispanics; 3) Educated Liberals; 4) Youth Vote; 5) Small States; and 6) Large States that didn't vote for her... am I leaving anyone out?

I remember what someone said on an earlier post: You know he must want to "gut punch" these mofos!

He can't, he must maintain the level of character and calm that led to his appeal to many across the board.

He can't be seen as the angry black man - that's the image the Clinton's, MSM and the Conservative Right Wingers have tried to portray and engage. They even crucified a man of God to try and show the black man as angry.

Clinton supporter Lanny Davis asked Jamal Simmons on more than one occassion why either he was so angry or why Obama was angry when there was not even an inkling of anger shown by either when Obama would have been justified to be angry many times during this campaign.

It occurs to me that Hillary has given her own Swiftboating present to the Republicans if she becomes the nominee.

From the Washington Post fact checking "Hillary Clinton has been regaling supporters on the campaign trail with hair-raising tales of a trip she made to Bosnia in March 1996. In her retelling, she was sent to places that her husband, President Bill Clinton, could not go because they were "too dangerous." When her account was challenged by one of her traveling companions, the comedian Sinbad, she upped the ante and injected even more drama into the story. In a speech earlier this week, she talked about "landing under sniper fire" and running for safety with "our heads down."

The WaPo gave her 4 pinnochios for this story.

Now imagine John McCain, a real war hero running his Commander In Chief ad against Clinton. He'll have a field day with this! I mean John Kerry got sunk on his factual military experiences by the swift boaters. Hillary wants to be Commander In Chief and makes up stories about dodging bullets!!!!! This will surely be Hillary's gift that keeps on giving to the Republicans!
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
At this point I think the Clintons just want to bring Obama down as much as possible, and actually want him to lose the general election so they can have another shot in 2012.

What we must do now is make clear that the Clintons are not only unacceptable to a huge number of Democrats, but that they are actually destructive to the party.

The Clintons must be stopped. I wish the superdelegates would step in and end this thing so we can get on to an Obama vs McCain general election.
  • joe in oklahoma · 1 year ago
and yesterday, a Hillary campaign manager
said Richardson's endorsement of Obama was "insignificant"

and mouthpiece James Carville compared Obama to Judas.

it is amazing to me that after pursuing Richardson for weeks trying to get him to endorse Hillary, and doing so persistently…

the Clintons now dismiss his endorsement of Obama as somehow insignificant.

if it is so insignificant, why did they work their tails off to get it?

if it is so insignificant, how come Carville calls Richardson a Judas!

(i would think Judas rather significant.

    Judas betrayed the Savior.

    Hillary is certainly no Savior.)
  • joe in oklahoma · 1 year ago
b-serious, it shouldn't have to be Obama asking her to drop out. it should be the democratic "leadership" (you can see i use that term cautiously)
Just imagine if things were reversed: if Clinton had won over a dozen primaries in a row, was ahead in the delegate count, ahead in the popular vote, and way ahead in the number of states won.

I suspect there would be tremendous pressure on Obama to pull out.

i further suspect Clinton would regard a decision by Obama to stay in the race as underhanded chicanery.

and yet what do we see in the current situation?

Clinton in the exact same situation carries on, with a minimal chance of victory, and actually had the ovaries to offer Obama a veep slot.

everything she does now is intended to destroy his standing vs McCain.

she and Bill even speak more favorably of the Republican than they do of their Dem opponent.

the democratic party "leadership", which would be telling Obama to drop out if the situation was reversed, is cowed into silence, and when one superdelegate speaks out (Richardson) is he labeled a Judas.

He really has turned himself into the WC Fields of politics, both in looks and insipid remarks. He and his wife are two of the lowest with all this trash racially tinged talk, and, thank goodness his reputation is already so tarnished by the way that he disgraced the WH, that no one really cares, and, too bad she still can't control him or his mouth.

Two divisive, manipulative, scheming politicians who will do or say whatever they want to get this win, just one hot mess they have gotten themselves into and without a shred of integrity or dignity. And, when its time for the so called junior senator from NY to run, hopefully, all this will come right on back and get her booted out of that gig.

Yep! And here's a perferct response to James Carville:

  • Tiye · 1 year ago
BTW, there is no way in Hades that Obama can demand/ask Hillary to step down. Can you imagine the victim card she'd pull? Gloria Steinem and the Feminist Mafia would be writing op-eds twice a day, every day about how Obama is bullying a woman.
  • B-Serious · 1 year ago
    @ tiye,

That's part of the problem. Someone's gotta say it. Who's going to step up? Why are people so afraid of the Clintons? Why are they so special? Obama's camp should be doing everything in its power to end this YESTERDAY. He'll need as much time as possible to reunite the Party after the job Hillary's done on it.

Hillary seems to be positioning herself for a big win in PA. I don't know how this Wright situation plays out in places like NC and Indiana. She could get the momentum back only to fall short when all is said and done. That's a dangerous possibility for the Democrats. . . a candidate (Hillary) with a "moral" reason to continue, but no objective argument to win. That's what she's shooting for. The more confusing this gets, the better her chances. She'll hang on to that "moral" victory for all it's worth.

It ensures a divided party all the way to August. It increases the chances that the super delegates won't feel as bad reversing the primary elections/caucuses.

People are already hinting that a big win in PA for Hillary would give her added pressure to force do-overs in FL and MI.

Let me make it clear. I support Obama. But, this is a game of chess. Obama's proven that he's good at it. But, lately, it feels like he's coasting a little bit. He's in constant reactionary mode. She's setting the terms of the conversation. And Obama's relying far too much on the concepts of "fairness," and "logic."

That's the problem . . . the Democratic leadership is too spineless to enforce fair play (just look at Howard Dean and this FL/MI mess); and Hillary threw logic out the window a long time ago.

Throw in the fact that Hillary doesn't care about the rules or the Party and you've got a MAJOR problem on your hands. And let's not forget the Rush Limbaugh factor.

There's an asian saying that goes, "the time to strike is when the opportunity presents itself." Obama has another oppotunity to change the direction of this race. The media is waking up to the fact that the MATH is BAD for Hillary. But someone's gotta close the deal. Someone should be setting benchmarks for Hillary (e.g., "if she doesn't get X % of the delegates by May 6, she must drop out).

Obama needs to expect the unexpected - Hillary is setting the table quite effectively. Obama needs to reclaim that, "fierce urgency of now." The fact that she's still in this thing is a testament to short-sightedness and weakness on someone's part. Is it Obama? Is it the media?

I don't know who, but the longer this thing goes, the greater chance Obama and his supporters have at getting screwed.
  • B-Serious · 1 year ago
P.S. Believe it or not, I'm still very confident that Obama will win this. But I see a few openings. And I'd prefer it if those openings were closed ASAP.

    He can't be seen as

    3. Being the Big Black Brute to her White Woman Victim

I'm serious about this mess, folks. She plays that White Woman Victim card in a NANOSECOND.

    A NANOSECOND.

The only folks in the Media that I remotely believe actually want to give Obama a break are Johnathan Alter, Chuck Todd (numbers are neutral), Wolffe from Newsweek,Olbermann and Tweety. The rest of them are Clinton shills, and Obama simply can't give them any ammo.

I know it's frustrating; it's frustrating to me too. We ALL know the game; if Obama was trailing in pledged delegates, popular vote and contests lost, and had one only 3 of the last 17 states, his ass would have been laughed off the stage. Florida and Michigan? It would be the standard We have to FOLLOW THE RULES...FOLLOW THE RULES

    We know this.

The only contrast was HRC and McCain against Obama.

The mere fact that he mentioned patriotism was to infer that Senator Obama was not patriotic.

Peggy Noonan is a liar. On MTP she tried to use Obama's "generational divide" argument to banish Rev. Wright as a demagogue from a bygone era AND claimed Rev. Wright's congregation looked "bored" in the heavy rotation video snippets while he was "doing his thing" being outside of the "mainstream" - i.e. extreme.

What videos has she been watching?

And if we're going to measure things by perceived "boredom" due to the lack of expressiveness in a lot of White churches, I guess that's grounds for saying White people in those churches just aren't going along with all that Jesus stuff their preachers talk about. Now that might explain quite a bit.

    Thanks for the insight, Peggy!!

she plays it so often, I don't think it's strategy; I think it's an integral part of who she is.

you know all those women who grew up pretending to be stupid because they were told that's the way to catch a man? and all those women who grew up using sex to get what they want, because they were told that's the way to get what one wants from a man (like that 14 year old mormon chick who claimed to be raped by her cousin, and then admitted in court she led him on and used sex on him willingly but claimed she did it all because she was afraid)?

and all those white women who were told to act a certain way around black men (for an example of the game Hillary Clinton is ultimately playing, check out the last 5 minutes of this Judge Judy clip of a spoiled Jewish chick whose lawyer father is trying to scam a young brother out of the car repair his daughter caused need of)......... just as black women were told to act a certain way around white men.

She's not the only one who plays her game (see all the bitches who have bought her lines hook line and seeker -- wonder why?), but I believe this is the biggest time -- ever -- in this nation's history when that tactic is not going to ultimately work. Good.

There are many forces at play here trying to stop Obama's run cold. There would be a massive shake-up in the Dem Party and in the way the Rethugs run elections. If people started thinking critically and coming together the country could move in a better direction though one less open to the whims of the ones trying to control things now. I was viewing other sites and some people actually think HRC made a mistake and has unintentionally embellished her national security related contributions i.e. claiming to be under fire in Bosnia and peace negotiations in Ireland. She has been lying the entire time! Come on! People fell for it or didn't research it; the main stream media has been protecting her and pushing her agenda and others STILL want to give her the benefit of the doubt. So I'm not surprised people are slow to get it or seem confused. Most people are sheep. If you tell them the sky is purple when it's blue long enough they'll start to question. The love of power like the love of money is all consuming. Isn't it ironic how the Clintons have become the same type of politicians they were trying to be in contrast to after all these years? All that 'experience' means NOTHING!
