From DailyKos:

Darrell in Iowa writes:

I am in Mason City. Our levees broke Sunday morning. Flood stage is 7 foot and waters are now at 19 feet. Hundreds of homes and businesses are underwater. The City’s water plant was flooded and the entire city of 30,000 is without potable water. A couple ... Continue reading »

  • I hope Obama jumps on this TODAY. He helps out Iowa today, Iowa could help his ass out in November.
  • Yes but it's Bush and the failure to provide resources that is the reason for the delay in response. He can only borrow so much money from China! The National Guard and Reserves are in Iraq and Afghanistan. I hope more people realize just how vulnerable we are in times of emergencies and prepare as much as they can. The Federal gov't is not reliable.
  • Wow, this is sad. This week (hell these last couple of months) has brought some really freaky weather. I hope someone responds quickly.
  • Houses are also flowing down flooding rivers in Wisconsin, my home state, as we speak.
  • OMG! Why isn't this being reported! I just saw mention of this, just now, as I'm reading your post!!!!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR GOVERNMENT!!!
  • They've shown pictures on CNN but no significant coverage, no sense of urgency.
  • I'm in Illinois and
I hadn't heard about this. I even watch the news regularly.

I hope that Obama does help them, they've already helped him and will do it again in, but he should help them because they're people and because he can.
  • I did hear about the house flowing down the water the damn break created leading to the river.
  • I hope Obama jumps on this TODAY. He helps out Iowa today, Iowa could help his ass out in November.

-George W. Bush is still President.

Tell HIM to get his ass in gear, lest those people in Iowa become bitter.
  • I agree - I am not one to say Obama needs to do this and that for this group or that group. But this is the ONE group that Obama owes everything to. Frankly even more than blacks because without their voting for him - many blacks would have remained on the fence saying white people will never vote for him.

As he said to his staff in Chicago on Friday, if they had not won Iowa, someone else would have come to the forefront and would have likey eventually won the nomination. He would have gotten a nice pat on the head and said better luck next time.
