Jack and Jill Politics: CBC Shills for Fox

What is always disappointing is just HOW CHEAP they're willing to sell themselves. I swear, they get our politicians FOR THE CHEAP.

We let them get our politicians For The Cheap. The same mentality that leaves the preacher who is having an affair with the choir director stay in the pulpit.

I am beginning to get over this whole Faux News situation. Really, what does Faux have to gain from televising the debate anyway? Faux doesn't really need PR from the CBC. Nor does it need to host a democratic debate.

Why aren't the 26 member issuing a statement about the horrific high school drop out rate among African American males? Or the fact that 60% of black children are growing up in single parent homes?

what was most interesting to me was the slant of the article, juxtaposing "black" interests against "left" interests. the nyt had a chance to bring something of substance to the table, and they blew it because they're still caught up in the idea of a black monolith even when their own data says otherwise. if only 26 cbc members supported the move...what about the rest?

Fox News Network is a shill for the Bush Administration and everytime I read something about this debate, it makes my blood boils.

What is up with the CBC?!? Where was the CBC when the democrats were rolling over for George Bush and removing the timeline for withdrawal from Iraq in the war spending bill? My congressman (Hank Johnson) signed that letter to the candidates and I now have some serious questions for him!!!

What the CBC fears the most is the message Obama sends by not showing up at the Debates; him being a CBC member and all.

Obama sends the message that if he's not going to legitimize Fox News by showing up, why is the CBC so hell-bent on doing so?

That's a question Bennie Thompson doesn't want asked, nor answered, hence the letter reminding Obama he's a Negro, and subtly implying that if he doesn't show up, they might make him pay for it with the withholding of support for his Presidential bid.

Which, at this point, he's doing pretty good without it.

Thanks for the heads-up jackandjill, and I wrote Maxine Waters to thank her for not caving in and credited your blog. On the sold-out members of the CBC, check out their membership status in another acronym, the DLC Democratic Leadership (or Leaderclass, as Jesse Jackson said) Council. Membership's on Wikipedia site and numerous articles are in The Black Commentator, including this good one:

    You were linked from HuffPost:

I always mention congress.org to write legislators and if they're on the DLC, tell them to get out of it and stop running with its policies or get challenged in the next primary. Now I need a movement to make it happen (in my dreams?).
