Condi Rice says U.S. would be safe with Obama

Started by baratunde aka jack turner · 10 months ago

Saw this a few days ago (via BlackPoliticsontheWeb.com). In an interview with Politico and Yahoo News released Thursday, Rice was asked if she would feel secure with a president Obama. She also said she’s not interested in a VP slot. She also sounds very done with an active, governing role in politics, at least for [...]SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: ... Continue reading »

  • Her statement that the US would be fine with Obama as president is powerful. It goes against everything McCain is saying about Obama being able to be the commander-in-chief. It is proof that even a Republican can admit the obvious without being partisan. I say kudos to her for her comments!

  • "She's Got A Crush On Him" ["old school" - the Jets: "I've Got A Crush On You" :>) :>)]
  • This won't get much play anywhere but the blogosphere.
  • I was just thinking the same damned thing. When it comes to reporting on Obama, the MSM are acting like they're on strike or something.
  • Now it's all about Hillary Clinton, who's name will officially be placed in nomination.

Anybody remember what made headlines yesterday?
  • “I think that we are having an important debate about how we keep the country safe. I think we are having an important debate about our responsibilities, our obligations, our interests in the Middle East in the wake of the now increasing evidence of success in Iraq. Those are important judgments for the American people to make.”

and I expect that comes out of the differences she has had with Cheney et al on how to approach international relations. Though she totes their water, she's far less of a hawk than those war-mongering war criminals are. Good for her.

And the best she can say about McCain is "he's a fine patriot?" except for the far right wingers, whose sole measure of suitability for office is that one be truly (white, rich, boys club) patriotic, I'm not sure that will really carry a lot of weight with the average Joe and Josephine.

Such hypocrisy and irony in the Rethug party. It really boggles the mind how they can continue to put this shit over on so many of us. Remarkable. But then they've learned Branding while licking the boots of their true masters, the multinational corporations. And they've learned the lesson well. Branding works whether it's a carbonated beverage or an athletic shoe or a corrupt, criminal political party.
  • I think Condi is experiencing the kind of conundrum black Repubs are dealing with all over the nation. That is, I'm going to vote for the brother, but damn, he ain't a Republican!

Frankly, I don't know why these fools wanna vote for anyone from this party. Lying, racist, not at all like the so-called "party of Lincoln" (which was really the party of Thaddeus Stevens for a hot minute after Lincoln was shot, and was really Radical Republican).
  • Condi knows she's voting for Obama..LOL

Cracks me up. She just confuses, ya know? every once in awhile, she let's it slip:

    she get's it.
  • At a dinner party in Georgetown, she once accidentally referred to W as "my husband." Jaws dropped.
  • She really likes talking out both sides of her mouth. She's still supporting the Republican agenda which makes any good Obama would do even more difficult. Perhaps, perhaps she has a crush on him too. If she had been a Democrat...well she would not be in the position of power she has now so never mind. She would've been given the scary loud-mouth angry Black woman label if she'd been a Democrat.
  • i saw an exchange between obama and rice on c-span a few years ago. one of those 'boring' senate hearings saturday re-runs. he was questioning her about something and was (respectfully) OWNING her while doing so...i can't remember the topic... but what i clearly remember is that while they were talking, rice had this smile on her face...she was beaming. her face looked soft, not that hard/pained expression she usually has--and her smile looked genuine. i read her expression as pride. she looked full with pride as she was essentially being cross-examined by this young, intelligent black man. it was something to see.

condoleezza rice has contradictions just like we all do.

rikyrah: i agree. she'll be voting for obama. LOL!
  • If only the walls could talk - I imagine the dignified black republicans are gettinng a little perturbed with the black man isn't an american theme.
