I apologize, I was just starting to get excited about this election, I even watch the roll call vote on youtube. However, I then read some of of the comments on that website a lot of griping about the convention and Obama, it killed my buzz. I just need to vent.

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

Noses and ears get bigger with age- it's espcially apparent on men, and that's why Bill looks crazy.

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

Oh, Goodness! She started off by saying "You know that was a presidential speech." She said that two or three times and spoke about how Obama didn't connect to her and how he had two months - I guess to earn her vote. I had to leave the room while she was speaking because she was really silly. Talk about someone having drank the Kool Aid.

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

What I truly appreciate about Richardson is not that he took a step in Barack's direction in the primaries, and willingly allowed his relationship with the Clintons to dissolve. What I appreciate most about him is that he is determined to get Barck elected. If the spotlight is on the Clintons, he will use that spotlight to point out flaws.

He is for Barack all the way. I hope if Obama decides to have Richardson in his Cabinet, that Richardson will join the team. Barack has so few people in his corner, he needs all the support he can get.

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

Town: Now here's someone who NEEDED a HANDKERCHIEF!!! -literally and figuratively!!!!! :>) :>)

LOVED the "Miss Shirley Temple Curls"!! But the words she delivered were unequivocal.

"No way. No how. No McCain."

I expect that to be used in an ad that appears during the RNC.

Even if there's something going on behind the scenes, the theater she put on to our faces was very good.

"Were you just in this for me?"

She gave Michelle Obama propers, praised her speech, and said she would be a great First Lady.

I'm not seeing any reaction to that here. Maybe I scrolled through the comments too quickly.

She's meeting with her delegates at lunch tomorrow where she's expected to encourage them to vote for Barack in the abbreviated roll call vote in the afternoon.

I'll get a report from two friends from my past who intend to attend.

I've now spoken with more than 100 Hillary delegates face to face. Three quarters of them are voting for Barack in the roll call.

McCain's campaign chimed in with a silly press release that nitpicked what she didn't say instead of focusing on what she did say. Even with my dislike and mistrust of most things Clinton, I'm just not going to get riled up by something that came out of the McCain's campaign.

The energy on the convention floor cannot be felt on the television.

I'm beginning to believe there will be no shenanigans tomorrow.

We shall see.

This convention is changing me. It's no longer about my feelings for Hillary and Bill.

It's about winning.

We can't take any votes for granted. If Clinton Democrats are more likely to vote for Barack because his supporters stop openly trashing the Clintons, then I'm prepared to stop openly trashing the Clintons.

This election is too important.

I want to win.

It's no skin off my ass to censor myself unless or until I get new evidence.

If I can't say anything good about Hillary and Bill, I'm not going to say anything at all.

I even waved a big white Hillary sign on cue. And then those big unity placards.

You could almost feel the unity in the place.

I want to win.

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

Roy M: Props on the "trip down the adulterous memory lane!" :>) :>)

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

Maybe they were comparing resumes.

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

rikyrah: Me 2. I saw Suzanne talking to a Black woman behind me in the Oklahoma delegation for a long time. She was talking to her over a piece of paper. When you're in "The Inner Circle" even if you make a crude joke about my daughter, you're still one of us.

Is Barack trying to be accepted in the inner circle, or is he trying to create his own circle? They will NEVER accept him! No matter how polite, or clean he is, or respectful he is to them!! They don't understand decency. They understand POWER!

I'm not panicked.

I'm angry.

I am furious with Barack Obama. I am fed up with the goody-two-shoes, scouts honour bullshit.

Barack better put on his goddamned ninja suit and start slashing some ankles under the table!

How many times is he going to be made a fool of before he plays hardball?

He shows up at that church all earnest 'n all, ready to tell his story. He walked right into a trap, where Rick Warren and McCain set him up with a phony coin toss that supposedly took place without witness. Warren and McCain were winking and nodding to each other while Barack sat there looking like a chump! Why couldn't he outsmart them?

He shows up at the ABC debate and walks right into a trap with Hillary, Stephanopoulus and Gibson where the mission was to take him down. They all pile on him about a flag pin, and he doesn't turn it around on them that none of them were wearing pins!! Why does he keep thinking these people will give him a fair shake?

He comes back from a successful trip abroad, he walks right into a sucker punch where McCain accuses him of playing the race card. No one in his campaign points out that McCain actually did put his face on currency, and put it in an ad to mock him....which is what Barack was referring to on the stump.

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON???!!

Do they know something we don't? Do they know they've already won by a landslide and they're just letting it all hang out 'till November?

Yeah, I know some people will say it doesn't matter 'cause he'll win anyway. But what benefit is it if everybody thinks you're a patsy?

Well, the last thing I'm watching is the INVESCO speech. If he doesn't kick some ass. If he repudiates and rejects another person for telling the truth. If he comes with some mealy mouthed bullshit about how people are tired of the same old politics and forget that people are also VERY ANGRY. If he doesn't tap into that righteous outrage. If he doesn't walk out there with his shoulders square and his chest out like he owns that shit. Then I don't want to hear another thing about "skinny, but tough". I'm tuned out for the rest of the season.

IT'S TIME TO ACT LIKE YOU OWN IT, BARACK!!!!!! IT DOES MATTER!!!!

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

Nominees don't show up at conventions until the day they accept the nomination.

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

WORD.

Re: Democratic National Convention - Tuesday Night Open Thread

He IS self-made and it's not acknowledged.
