Deployed Troops Hate America. Give More To Obama & Paul Than McCain

Started by baratunde aka jack turner · 10 months ago

Hot damn I knew it. I knew these servicemen and women who volunteered for the military, staying deployed far longer than promised and generally making due with a non-existent war strategy absolutely hated this country. Nothing says “I don’t put country first” like sucking it up and fighting in an undefined war while ... Continue reading »

  • But....but....Obama hates the troops!! But......but....he wouldn't go visit the injured troops!! But...but....this makes no sense.....what's happening?!? What is this?!?! Cannot compute!!! AARGH.....system......failure........
  • Got blog. Will pimp
  • Great! All the while clueless people were tyring to play up the "fact" that Obama doesn't salute the flag- McCain/Bush were trying to defeat the new G.I. Bill. Looks like the troops aren't as dumb as some would like to make them out to be.
  • The only one's who are dumb is the media who keep reporting the fairy tale that McCain loves the troops and they love him
  • The American military understands its job is not to open up new markets for Halliburton, act as the Saudi royal family's private body guards, or preserve Israel's nuclear monopoly in the region. They are there to protect the U.S. from attack, and eliminate those who attack us, To their immense credit - Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Michael Mullen are the two most prominent men who are standing in the way of the "Attack Iran" brigade. Here is an article from the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, which does a far better job of covering the Middle East than any American news outlet:

"U.S. Puts Brakes on Israeli Plan"

  • "The American military understands its job is not to open up new markets for Halliburton, act as the Saudi royal family's private body guards, or preserve Israel's nuclear monopoly in the region."

    That's a killer sentence.
  • Another epic in a paragraph.
  • Enough said.
  • Bararunde: Thanks for bring this information. It really lifts my spirits!!
Straight from the soldiers' mouths!! YES!!!! :>) :>)
  • They want out, they want out, they want OUT.
  • It's been longer than WWII. 5 years seems like a lifetime...when it's in combat.
  • Good for them.
  • This research is not very comprehensive. Comparing the 134 contributions for Obama to the 24 contribution for McCain to the hundreds of thousand military personnel deployed throughout the world (japan, S Korea, Germany, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Norway, Iraq, and many other places) is not a good sample of the military population! Moreover, drawing the conclusion that troops want out of Iraq just because of this statement is a very bold generalization.

I spent 20 years in the military (navy), and am still serving as a civilian. While I know of some military family members that support Obama (maybe that's where the money is coming from) I know of very few military members that do.
  • And your anecdote isn't very comprehensive either. Nor is it convincing.
  • Right. You scoff at the logical fallacy of drawing an inference from the contributions then try to replace it with anecdotal evidence from within your personal sphere.
  • I can tell you that here in San Antonio, its pretty accurate..i to work for the Gov. as a civillian and many do want to see an end to the war. granted the ones that want to stay only want to do so for monetary reasons..
  • How can they treat McCain this way when he's been there so often he has a time-share?

Must be cuz he doesn't talk to the troops, perhaps like Bush he only talks to the people who already support him.
  • I think it might be more so because McCain has no regard for their lives and willingness to sacrifice for the country and will use them as pieces on a chess board rather than guard their lives and steer them from harms way by any means necessary.
