Speaking of Hillary Clinton:

There is bad news about her husband.

It is opined that Bill Clinton committed racist hate crimes, and I am not free to say anything further about it.

I'm listening to her speech right now, and it is pretty good. i had negative feelings toward her before, but I am now able to forgive her now. I think a lot of the ill will I had towards her had to do with some of her supporters.

Time to ask this one more time.It seems to me you all agree the white man runs everything but none of you ever stopped to think why the white man wants a blackman as president,If you think Obama somehow circumvented all the powers that be and put himself where he is you are clearly delusional and we as a people are in a lot deeper hole than you can imagine.Obama is caught in the middle of a lot of powerful factions and his hands are just as dirty as the Clintons.The media doesnt need Clinton acolytes to spread inuendoes all the commentators and candidates belong to THE COUNCIL OF FOREIGN RELATIONS .They breed controversy to sell the media ther messages are divisionary to spread dissention.The media is feeding BLACK PEOPLE a steady stream of suggestions to manufacture feelings of persecution and victimization.WHERE THE POWER IN THAT,OH THATS RIGHT IT USED TO BE BLACK POWER NOW ITS AFRO AMERICAN?(what?)

I watched her speech and I was initially satisfied and then it was pointed out to me that the majority of the speech was about her and very little about Obama. The subtext of the speech and the production seemed to be all about Hillary and her supporters. Has anyone noticed that the media hardly mentions that Obama's supporters are greater in number and as equally passionate as the Clinton supporters? And the Harriet Tubman reference caused me to question who her audience really was: Was she exhorting her supporters to continue or was she exhorting them to get behind Obama? I'm still not sure.
I thought Bill said what he needed to say (except his praise for McCain and his assertion that McCain has systematically bucked his party--LIES) but I watched them in the stands (with their forced smiles and that face you make when you're talking about someone while they're watching you) when Biden spoke and then when Obama came out. All I would say to warn anyone who's willing to instantly forgive is: let's see what they do over the next few weeks. Their footsoldiers have infested CNN and Fox News and are spreading the ridiculousness. Just this week Rendell, Wolfson, and McAuliffe have attacked MSNBC for their biased coverage in favor of Obama and this is the week when the party is supposed to be united. Remember Fox News has always trashed the Clintons but now they are her greatest allies. Curious but transparent.
On a happy note, John Kerry gave an impassioned speech and tore McCain a new one (which the Clintons did not do.) Of the three speeches, I thought his speech was the most hard hitting and the most heartfelt.

Wow, I guess I'm writing the minority opinion. I just wasn't feeling it. Yeah, I agree that Hillary 'did what she had to do' but I just wasn't feeling the Harriet Tubman reference.

I have much respect for Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth and the countless, nameless sisters who lived lives far more harsh than I could imagine. But I do wish that when an example of a strong black woman is needed, someone who actually lived within the last 100 years could be mentioned.

The tragic, tough, worn, strong, somber black woman image is just so.. so tired.

Please, don't get me wrong. I know we are misunderstood and misrepresented, but we are also funloving, sweet, delicate, feminine and happy. And I know that HRC was not tasked with making those distinctions.

But after all the subtle and not-so-subtle negative ways that black woman are portrayed, it would have been nice to hear about any of the other black woman who have endured in recent times.

I guess I just had to be there.

I was impressed by the line. She did her job and I was never much for giving people props for doing what they are supposed to. She NOW has the task of getting in McCain's behind for using her primary hate against Obama in his ads. She and Bill better be eating crow A LOT from not to November to make it right for me. Well no. I will never forgive them, but I will tolerate them for sure.

The speech worked well. My mean face turned to a slight smirk.

There's a different between recognizing sincerity and appreciating the meaning behind what she said and thinking to ourselves "Awww shucks, she's not so bad, it's all good, let's hug it out". Putting aside toxic anger is not the same as trusting someone. Bitterness is a poison we drink in the hopes that the other person gets hurt. It's not worth it.

"Keep Going!" Loved it! That was the part of the speech that resonated with me. I was really moved and trust me, I have not been a Hillary fan since the "Kitchen Sink" strategy!

Classic.

I could not help but set aside my anger. There were a couple of other good lines from the speech, but the Harriet Tubman line was like whoah. And her delivery, inlfection, and emotion (real or not) was on it.

Ive posted several comments on this site and have come to the conclusion that most people dont even read the other comments.However in most of the comments Ive noticed a lot of racist attitudes toward white people.This warps our perception and the media directly feeds this mentality.I attribute this to the fake militancy of gangster rap and genuine anger at the past treatment and present conditions of Black people.However if we as a people dont move beyond this and broaden our perspective to think inclusively of the human race as a whole then we will continue to perpetuate the same system we denounce and marginalize ourselves helping to keep all people of all colrors on the bottom down.Its not healthy to harbor feelings of anger and hate and constantly look for words are actions to support those views.Even if Obama is elected we as a people must harness that same energy we used to campaign.That same funraising ability to confront injustice,like we did with Jenna, There is only so much any president can do in order to ensure his longevity.However it is us the people who are the real power behind these elected figures and it is up to us to mobilize thse forces necessary to enact real change,The best way to do this is by affecting the bottom line of these corporations by boycotting and having a platform of investment in our communities.Everything from educational tutoring,factories,etc. Do you realize how powerful this is using the internet.I continue to challene people to stop thinking like consumers and start thinking like producers,THESE ideas apply to myself just as much as the next person
