I recommend everyone revisit DNC convention week and rediscover the spirit of unity the GOP tried to step on. If nothing else, watch Obama's acceptance speech again:

    That's a sweet pic, too.

is anyone having as much trouble posting comments or opening links to threads as I am? Ummmh.

I wish the campaign would come out with a "You must think I'm stupid t-shirts, I'd wear that long after the elections. They came out with the tanks and they also have brown, my favorite color, I just ordered that one.

Finally, did anyone see the King/Woodward interview or know anything about his book? If so, would you please summarize it for me. Aside from saying that Bush was irresponsible, worried about losing and wanting to see dead Iraqis what is he saying?

did you check cafepress? they might have a shirt like that there

I hit explorer twice, I keep this blog on one and scour the internet on the other. This site can hang up badly at times. I have a new laptop and I don't have the same problem with any other site and some of those have lots of graphics and videos so... don't know why.

But it is so worth being here.

I know I'm not the only one who taped the DNC. If you need inspiration pick your inspiration:
    Ted Kennedy
    Michelle Obama
If Hillpatine's speech did it for you, ok.
    How about the Governor Cowboy
    Or Bubba
    Ride or Die Joe

One of my favorite moments is his nomination by acclamation and the delegates dancing like it was 1999.

    Of course the speech.

    Know.hope.

I was thinking that Obama could make great, cheap, straightforward campaign ads by taking the best 30 seconds from the best speeches and play a series of those on a constant loop until the election. Since there were so many great speeches they could target some to particular parts of the country and particular demographics.

I just posted about how Barack focuses on the positive outcome he wants to achieve - much more than he fights against the negative outcomes he doesn't want. Basic spiritual principle. So I put up a link to his economic plan, with a couple of points I like in particular.

The positive spin on 'don't hate' is:

    LOVE!

    HAHA!

    From Politico via Wonkette:
    * ENOUGH OF THIS CLOWN: “Joe Lieberman returned to Capitol Hill today — his first day back since speaking at the GOP convention — and was greeted by the resignation of his $120,000-a-year legislative director Joe Goffman.” He probably just got a job offer to do, well, anything else.

I have a feeling Old Joe is going to be losing a lot of friends this year! :D

Edited to add: This guy was no lightweight:
Since 1992, [Joe] Goffman had been a senior attorney at Environmental Defense (formerly known as the Environmental Defense Fund), where, in addition to managing the climate and air quality program, he specialized in the use of market-based mechanisms to address a wide range of air pollution problems. As associate counsel to the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the U.S. Senate in 1989 and 1990, he was chiefly responsible, working with former Senator George Mitchell and Senator Max Baucus, for the development and drafting of Title IV of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, which established the acid rain trading system.

My favorite moment at Invesco was when Obama said in his speech:

"And I've seen it in this campaign. In the young people who voted for the first time, and in those, the young at heat, who got involved again after a very long time."

When the camera panned back to him in mid-sentence, he had this little smile across his face. So grateful. And I will tell you something silly: I started to scream, "OMG, OMG, he just talked to ME...I'm one of those young people..." LOL!

It was like my own personal acknowledgement, ya know?

    Yeah, silly me!

    T.
ps. I hope we get to see another pep talk video(before the elections) like the one we got after he won the primaries...when he said, "WE have to win..."

Don't forget John Kerry and Tammy Duckworth.

The two sleeper hits of the DNC.

Jack, it was nice to meet you, even if briefly. We both live in New England less than 2.5 hours apart. We've no excuse not to hang out.

"Don’t hate!" I agree, but - Unfortunately - the Democratic Party survives on “hate”, e.g. it has promoted hatred of the “Rich” and/or “White America” for decades, and this year, the "chickens have come home to roost"...for all to see.

James Cone: "It is important to make a further distinction here among black hatred, black racism, and Black Power. Black hatred is the black man's strong aversion to white society. No black man living in white America can escape it...But the charge of black racism cannot be reconciled with the facts. While it is true that blacks do hate whites, black hatred is not racism."

Skip One Starbucks & Donate the Dollars to Obama

    Sign petition: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/skip-a-Starbuc...
Please Everyone...skip just ONE Starbucks drink (sorry Starbucks), and donate that amount to the Victory for Obama campaign: http://www.barackobama.com/index.php

It's a little sacrifice to make sure there is enough money to battle the McPain smear machine. Give more, or more often, if you like, but even a little goes a long way.

Thank you, and here's to an Obama victory November 4th!
