At this point....my God...is John McCain walking around with a "Kick Me" sign on his back? For real, if the MSM really highlighted the relevant happenings around these two camps as they should....I think it would actually work to McCain's advantage because it would actually look like they were picking on a little old man...even though it would just be accurate reporting. I mean....McCain's campaign right now is better left to its own devices..they are literally too easy of a mark. I didn't see that before...I do now. Just look at the happenings in the last 48 hours...wow.....watching the goof-up on Good Morning America today, I just teared up for McCain...it was that bad.

Thanks for the apology, D. I am sometimes not really good at articulating things about whose reality we're centering, though I almost always feel it really strongly (though not in words) and feel a sort of wrongness when something is off.

I'm pretty limited, on this one, though -- I don't know how much I can contribute to a discussion of this ... I too easily get disoriented and already don't express things very clearly.

But again, I appreciate your comment and apology.

I think I stand by what I am saying, though ... there is something off in looking at this from such a US-is-the-center-of-reality perspective when we are actually talking about someone else's country.

But I don't think I am very good at saying this clearly.

1. highlight that Obama's timetable was "endorsed" by the Iraqis, or
2. to "destroy" McCain for not accepting a timetable?

Keep in mind that both candidates have said that we will have to draw down from Iraq.

I'm not sure he really has to "earn" this one. The damage is already done, just at the mention of the story.

Even if all that was said was "Maliki suggests 16-month timetable for withdrawal of US troops," you could easily draw the connection.

There's really not much for the MSM to say. It is what it is. Maliki can't really walk back from it-especially since Obama was mentioned by name.

Remember all the accusations of Obama "flip-flopping" on Iraq? Well, when presented with a story that clearly relates to Obama's Iraq policy on troop withdrawal--and what's more relevant than the Iraqi leader's position on troop withdrawal?--the same media can't be bothered anymore.

The media isn't covering this, PRECISELY because it's a gimme for Barack. They're acting as if he hasn't "earned" the coverage.

Is media playing fair in campaign coverage? - .. The anchor blessing defines the trip as a Major Event and — much like a "Saturday Night Live" skit in February that depicted a press corps fawning over Obama — raises anew the issue of fairness in campaign coverage. MSM is ‘In-the-Tank’ for Obama. They put out stories favoring him, even if not true or a mistranslation, etc. “Biased”? Yes, most certainly, and that bias favors Obama.
