Jack and Jill Politics: Does Murdoch agree with Glenn Beck or not? Take action

  • RonnieB · 1 month ago
I'm done with petitioning and pleading and begging racists to stop speaking their racism. It's like petitioning a dog to stop barking.

If the powerful Rupert Murdoch is to be stopped, then he's going to have to be stopped by powerful Black people within media.

Petitioning Ronnie is not "pleading and begging". There is strength in "organized numbers." I think these Color of Change petitions are effective. Lots of advertisers have left the GB program. That's progress. The only reason why Murdoch even "addressed" the issue is because of the petitions in the first place. He just stuck his foot in his mouth. If it wasn't an issue he wouldn't he even have entertained the question.

You can't assume all 'black people within the media" are politically aware. Some people including some black people are all about making a buck and unfortunately they don't care about Murdoch's or GB's statements. If black people relied on well-off blacks in the 50s and 60's there wouldn't have been a civil rights movement.

It not just about the petition IMO. The petition is also a way of keeping a focus on Murdoch over time. It helps to inform people about Murdoch, his media empire and so helps people make choices about what media products to use".

In a country where people listen only to those who sound and walk like them?

    This will convince who?
    Oh, 'con!

    RonnieB,

    LOL!

My conservative answer would be "good luck" and "let's stymie his faux-message". The inner-radical in me says...ROFLMBAO!!!

"Please don't be racist, Massa Murdoch. It hurt our feelings."

That fool runs FauxNews, NYPost, and whatever media rag out there. A chunk of his sheeple get spotlighted on 'People of Walmart'. If he wants to slurp the Beck(y) milkshake and shed tears w/ faux-white fears, give him a napkin. GTFOH!!!

by powerful Black people within media.

Who IS this powerful Black person?
If there is any I think he or she should spend the energy in less mundane matter.

You ofter sound very thoughtful and rational and i think you should know better.

Who is more powerful than that old bat?
And WHO really care what he vomit?
It is really ridiculous to give this guy any importance.

And like him or not he has the right to be as stupid as he want.

He's an old white man from Australia. There's no way he could be a racist. Not even possible.

It is so difficult to unravel corporate ownership sometimes. I would be very interested to get some accurate and timely information on what Rupert Murdoch's holdings are. What I have in mind is something far more accurate and extensive than Wikipedia. Does anyone have suggestions?

I just checked Wikipedia and they include this for example:

"In late 2003, Murdoch acquired a 34 per cent stake in Hughes Electronics, the operator of the largest American satellite TV system, DirecTV, from General Motors for $6 billion (USD)."

I don't know if that holding is still the same today. This is interesting to me because I'm shopping for cable right now. And if it means that if I hook up with DirecTV, some of that money goes into Rupert's pocket, I have to cross it off my list.

    OK, this is interesting:

“We are thrilled to partner with FOX once again on the live broadcast of the IMAGE AWARDS,” said Vicangelo Bulluck, Executive Producer, 41ST NAACP IMAGE AWARDS. “The NAACP is looking forward to celebrating this time of change with viewers by showcasing some of the greatest talents of our time.”

So what does it say when Black folks, on the one hand, act up and agitate in order to bring attention to the disgraceful ways in which we're treated by FOX, yet on the other hand, are thrilled to partner with FOX so that we can style and profile and entertain?

If we're willing to sing, dance, act, and play football on FOX, should we really expect FOX to take our petitions seriously?

I mean, let's flip the script. If White people like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck didn't care for the way they were depicted on BET or TVOne, I wouldn't expect them to patronize those networks.

But every Sunday on FOX, we can find the richest Black men in the world doing just that.

And you asked for those “powerful” to rise to yr. interest?
They are protecting their interest, you should care about yrs., that IS how it is.
    Confusing!?

Money and religion worth much more to many people than the color of the skin.
