Jack and Jill Politics: Don’t Make David Letterman Mad

  • CPL · 1 year ago
Ever since the Bush Administration tried to have Letterman censored for telling jokes about them, he's been swinging all out at them for the last six years.

Piss off Letterman and the whole country knows about it. And they tend to go along with Letterman, just like they go along with Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, not to mention Bill Maher.

McCain clearly is senile - you don't piss off any of these white guys and think they'll be respectful of you like that ape, Sean Hannity. It was only a matter of time.

Letterman rocks. Stewart is on a time out after his little "black people's hair = pubic hair" stunt of last week.
  • time · 1 year ago
Not to derail, but whaaaaat did Jon Stewart say??? Link?
  • bajanlady · 1 year ago
Last week (9/16) about 2.5 minutes into the show Jon goes on some riff about how the Merrill Lynch's (?) bull's genetalia is messy. He goes on to suggest it should be corn rowed or something and says it looks like Steeler's Tory Polamula's. Later in the show when he starts the interview with Ricky Gervais he goes back on the riff and suggests the Bull's gentalia should be dread locked. Meantime Gervais is visibly squirming in his seat he looks that uncomfortable with the line of "funny". See the whole hot mess here .

I've watched this 3 times already and it is brutally funny in truest sense of the phrase. Dave hands McCain his ass big time. The last 2 minutes or so really makes the clip (I won't say any more than that because it's best seen unspoiled).

Priceless. Can't wait to see David repeated on Morning Joe, TODAY Show, ET, HARDBALL, etc...

    Can you say..."Punk Ass Beotch."
  • GreenLadyHere · 1 year ago
Webb: YES I CAN!! :>) I said it 3 times, clicked my heels 3 times, closed my eyes and said - [on Mr. Obama's behalf] - There's no place like home - The WHITE HOUSE!! Whooo! Hoo! :>) :>)

Considering that show business is as mean-spirited and petty as national politics, it is a remarkable feat that Letterman has around for as long as he has - doing things largely on his terms. And while I have found some of his current stuff repetitive, when he is really worked up about something, he is without peer in late night. Was it me, or was he channeling a bit of Stringer Bell from The Wire? Normally quiet, easy-going and all business, but God help you if you cross him.

Letterman is the man! He is always at his funniest when he is bitter.

Just be glad he wasn't clutching a gun.

I dig satire and sarcasm so Dave Letterman is one of my favorites, he does both exceptionally well. I however had no idea just how gangsta, yes gangsta, Dave could be if you got on his wrong side. Peep the youtube video of Dave ripping McCain a new for "suspending" his campaign. After watching this I want to nominate Letterman for a temporary (reviewable) black pass. He gets good in the hood by me because not many journalist, let alone TV personalities, have taken McCain to task for some of the shady things he's done this campaign. What Letterman does on his show tonight (Sept. 24th 2008) is incredible, it's brave, and it's what needs to be said. I say he's brave because there will be backlash, there shouldn't be, but there will be. Somebody somewhere will protest the show, say Dave was out of line, and call on others to show Dave how they agree. He could even lose sponsorship of his program if any of his detractors have any success in a boycott. I've always been fan, now I am an admirer. Well done Dave!

Letterman has more cajones than mainstream media.

John McCain announced yesterday afternoon that he was suspending his campaign & all advertising. The campaign is supposedly suspended until after he parachutes into Washington DC & single handedly solves the financial crisis. This, has caused him to call for the cancellation of his presidential debate with Obama on Friday night, which will (many are thinking) necessitate him to debate Obama on October 2, which due to time constraints will conveniently cancel the vice-presidential debate between Senator Joe Biden & Sara Palin. What a strange turn of events, don't ya think???

Well, I turned on Local 6 news on the local CBS station to wait for the David Letterman show. In the last 15 minutes of the news program, they showed one of his nastiest, most dishonest ads, blaming Obama & other democrats for, what else, deregulation, the economy, of course, the financial crisis. Didn't he just say that all advertising was off until further notice???

He will, however, find time from his busy hero schedule to speak at the Clinton Global initiative today. Hmm.

Write to the newspapers, the blogs, the television stations, make a sign. How stupid do they think we are?

only problem was McCain was still on Letterman, even though he wasn't there in person.

Not that I didn't enjoy watching and hearing Letterman rip into McCain and really letting him have it, and then letting Palin have it too. The analogy with the QB and back up QB was fantastic. And then when he said that Obama and Biden, being both senators, will have to go handle their business, and so the democrats are really in a hole, yes Obama will have to suspend his campaign, but the republicans have Sarah, and Alaska's economy is fine. That was probably the best.

And Dave couldn't have chosen a better sub for McCain - Olbermann, who else to come on Letterman and bash McCain for a while.

McCain has to be older than Dave.

This Dave reminded me of "Evil Dave", his personality on Howard Stern.

    I loved it!

If Palin can't shoulder the burden of the campaign on her own, when McCain is suddenly too busy to run it, why should anyone think she can handle being a heartbeat away from the Presidency???? Suspending a campaign because there's some kind of crisis....who does that? This is very, very strange.

The has-been that is Letterman is a pathetic joke, there are more important things happening right now than his worthless show. Letterman should have been canceled years ago. Who is Letterman to question McCain's courage or heroics? McCain has suffered torture in a POW camp and has put his life on the line for his country....something most of you would either run from or have never faced in your lives. As far as I'm concerned McCain is not afraid of any pathetic celebrity like Letterman....and smart enough to know when hes walking into a political ambush by Letterman and that puke Keith Olbermann. Obviously Letterman had a political agenda in mind, his little tirade made that point.

A has-been who has the most viewed clip on You Tube (1.6 million views as of this morning).

    Thanks for playing though.

Too bad for Letterman, its for his tantrum and not his material. Verdict... Has-been.
  • sick of liberal smack · 1 year ago
David Letterman (whom I have watched for years), needs to grow up!!! He is not the most important person on the planet, what is the big deal, he has liberal celebs cancel all of the time and doesn't bash them for half the show. Just fill-in with someone else and shut-up already!!! I am so sick of hateful liberals and their negetive attitudes, it's really getting old...speaking of old, OMG, enough with the old jokes, can't anyone find anything on McCain other than his age to pick on. Real nice, I was tought to respect elders, not make fun of them, but I wasn't raised as a rude liberal!!!

David Letterman is nothing but a buck-toothed, angry old man. He hasn't said anything funny for 10 years. He's spiraled downward into some strange, psychotic far-left extreme weirdness. He reminds me of the crazy old angry fool in my neighborhood who sits on his porch and yells at the little kids to "GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN, YOU LITTLE PUNKS!"

What a loser! The only good thing about his disgusting comments supporting the rape of a 14 year old girl, were that probably only about fourteen people actually saw it - and one of those was his mom!
