Jack and Jill Politics: Followup on Obama’s "MySpace Not YourSpace" Controversy

I'll say it again - what happened in terms of bad publicity and ill will cost way more than 40k.

They were wrong. End of story. And, it's a blunder that just shouldn't have happened.

If the guy was promoting Obama in a positive way I don't see why they did this.

It will hurt their moniker of being for the little guy.

In a trillion-tree forest, Obama's campaign seems to have cut down the wrong tree.

That's almost 200k votes Obama just gave to Hillary or Edwards with that stunt.

He needs to fire his campaign manager and allow Michelle to run the whole damned thing before he goes up in flames.

I don't agree. The page wasn't official, so who knows what the guy would do with it should he become 'disgruntled' or something. The people who signed up, signed up to be Obama's 'friend' not Anthony's. So while the Obama campaign might not have responded well, they were right to take control of the site.

The amount of money Anthony wanted for running the site was ridiculous. What exactly was it? A 39K 'consulting fee' to run a myspace page?!? It doesn't take a lot of effort to logg in, confirm a friend, and set up a basic template. Seriously, I'm pretty sure Obama's youngest daughter could do it pretty easily.
