The Card Clinton Is Playing
The Audacity of Hopelessness: Creative Arguments Keep Hillary Running
Put your beverage down, otherwise you will ruin your keyboard.
OMG - hell hath frozen over
I will ignore her.
Washington, D.C. - Project 21, the black leadership network, has recruited the support of black churches across the United States to participate in a special day of prayer declared by a member of Congress to call attention to the plight of incarcerated U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean.
"To many Americans, the radical beliefs and comments of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright have come to falsely personify the Christian church - and particularly those with black congregations. We hope this show of support for the law and good government will help undo the damage he has wrought," said Project 21 Chairman Mychal Massie. "This is a call upon our God to do what only He can in the absence of any action by President Bush. Christians have long bridged the divide between God and the absence of responsible leadership, and it is only fitting that once again the Church is undertaking to do that which officials will not."
U.S. Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) called for a "National Day of Prayer for Jailed Border Agents and All Law Enforcement" on Sunday, May 11. The day also begins National Police Week. Representative Rohrabacher told The Politico: "In my 20 years in Congress, this is the first time I've ever called for a public prayer effort for any cause. At this rate, since the President won't listen to Congress or the American people, maybe he'll listen to God."

Too bad we can't save these people...why? Because we are bogged down in Iraq and Afganistan!!
Where are these troops going to come from to invade Myanmar.
Not to mention Beirut is descending into hell as we speak.
but we are BOGGED down in Iraq and if this trickles over our troops are smack dab in the middle of this Hell.
That was the response I expected.
The truth is, we could very easily do humanitarian airdrops into Myanmar, and put ships on the beach with supplies as well.
Though, technically speaking, we would be entering their airspace/territorial waters withough permission....which would be considered an invasion.
Doesn't have anything to do with Iraq/Afghanistan. In fact, the materials/transports are already in place.
So with that in mind....what's your thoughts.
the government is taking the U.N. drops. You believe they'd let USA drops go, while taking U.N. drops?Doesn't make any sense.
They took them, alright:

YANGON, Myanmar —
Myanmar's junta seized U.N. aid shipments headed for hungry and homeless survivors of last week's devastating cyclone, prompting the world body to suspend further help on Friday.
The U.N. said the aid included 38 tons of high-energy biscuits and arrived in Myanmar on Friday on two flights from Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates.
Don't forget about the 50 state voter registration kickoff tomorrow. Go to the Barack's site details.
I will be kicking it off in Los Angeles. Food/Music and celebrity speakers. Good times!
So anyway, I will let you know about my experience.
And you should feel proud and happy
I do.
Well you've made the case for yourself...
There would not be a need for a ground military action. So what is your point? In addition the U.N. and world would support us in this decision because the reason and cause is quite transparent for going there. It's to save lives...people that are dying right before our eyes.
However the American Government obviously doesn't have a good track record with that in their own country.
Here I thought you really cared about the people of Myanmar, but you just wanted to prove some flimsy political point.
I've lost a tad of respect for you but I'll digress...
Yes, Iraq IS different (as you stated). As different as the fourth reason given to the American people as to why we went to war with them.
At the same time
If the U.S. won't go by the same principle with the Sudan (and in the past Rwanda), then the same applies in Myanmar.
You can't pick and choose what invasions you feel are worthy in the name of liberating people from tyranny.
So disingenuous of you.
You're misunderstanding me. The "invasion" part came from either SECDEF Gates or ADM Mullen yesterday.
I'm not suggesting-at least not in this forum-that we physically go to war with Myanmar.
All I'm asking is if getting their people aid is worth the consequences-whatever they may be-of violating their sovereignty (sp?).
Yes, in these circumstances it is worth the consequences to invade. But, it would be done by the U.N., not the USA.
The UN doesn't have its own standing military.
Would someone please post Stephanie Tubbs-Jones interview with Andrea Mitchell today defending HRC on the "hard working Americans, white Americans statement.
It was unbelievable, she even said Obama was playing the race card when Obama said let's make history. She said he was speaking to black Americans.
Johnathan Altman said Obama does not have a problem with all white voters - just older ones - and particularly women.
There once was a man named mccain, who had the whole white house to gain, but he was quite a hobbyist of boning his lobbyist, so much for his 08 campaign.
Check this out.
Clinton supporters are threatening superdelegates with angry attacks on Obama.
I guess that would disqualify him from VP consideration.
This is from 2006:
Allen Blasts Webb Novels For Sex Scenes
Personally, I don't think it's that big a deal. I've got-and I think others do as well, least on my end-bigger issues with Webb than this.
I saw that picture!
He looks like he is saying,
"Hi my name is Scott, and I'm a Leo and I like long walks on the beach...can I buy you a drink"
I like Claire too. I think she once said that she wouldn't like her daughter to be in the same room with Bill Clinton?
That is a good article...but, what does it have to do with Claire?
I had just seen on on MSNBC and she was so rational and firm in her arguments that I was smiling ear to ear.
Yes, I know. I can't imagine a USA unilateral invasion. I think it would have to be a coalition force directed by the U.N.
Whatever they're doing, they better move fast.
actually, she said on "Meet the Press" she didn't want her daughter "near" Bill Clinton. Here's the short clip for anyone intersted:

Man, I miss him. I would LOVE to see him interview Barack. But, even more delicious would be his interview with Bill Clinton and Hillary, separately of course!!

Why is Claire McCaskill never mentioned for VP?
And thanks again for the Daily Open Thread pic. They are inspiring & remind me of what we're fighting for.
