Would someone please post Stephanie Tubbs-Jones interview with Andrea Mitchell today defending HRC on the "hard working Americans, white Americans statement.

It was unbelievable, she even said Obama was playing the race card when Obama said let's make history. She said he was speaking to black Americans.

You're misunderstanding me. The "invasion" part came from either SECDEF Gates or ADM Mullen yesterday.

I'm not suggesting-at least not in this forum-that we physically go to war with Myanmar.

All I'm asking is if getting their people aid is worth the consequences-whatever they may be-of violating their sovereignty (sp?).

Well you've made the case for yourself...

There would not be a need for a ground military action. So what is your point? In addition the U.N. and world would support us in this decision because the reason and cause is quite transparent for going there. It's to save lives...people that are dying right before our eyes.

However the American Government obviously doesn't have a good track record with that in their own country.

Here I thought you really cared about the people of Myanmar, but you just wanted to prove some flimsy political point.

Yes, Iraq IS different (as you stated). As different as the fourth reason given to the American people as to why we went to war with them.

At the same time

If the U.S. won't go by the same principle with the Sudan (and in the past Rwanda), then the same applies in Myanmar.

You can't pick and choose what invasions you feel are worthy in the name of liberating people from tyranny.

So disingenuous of you.

This morning it hit me, and I have the widest smile on my face, there will be a black candidate for the general election of the President this year. I grew up in the 80's so I saw a lot of firsts in the areas of entertainment, media, business, sports and happily assumed that this country was moving toward the "American Dream" for all citizens. But, I am also a student of history and and in tune reality so part of me was skeptical that there would be a black candidate within the next few generations that I, not to mention people across all demographics, could and would support ( sorry Jessie, Al, Lenora, Carol and Alan, I just wasn't feelin' ya). I get chills thinking that this is happening just 40 or so years after my parents experienced segregation daily as an accepted practice. I wish my grandfather who raised his family in a small Southern town instilling in all his children that education is a requirement not an option and success will be achieved no matter the challenges could be alive today to see what is happening, today. He would be so proud. I an so proud. I am so happy.

That was the response I expected.

The truth is, we could very easily do humanitarian airdrops into Myanmar, and put ships on the beach with supplies as well.

Though, technically speaking, we would be entering their airspace/territorial waters withough permission....which would be considered an invasion.

Doesn't have anything to do with Iraq/Afghanistan. In fact, the materials/transports are already in place.

So with that in mind....what's your thoughts.
