    Sheepishly raising my hand

    " I'm rikyrah, and I'm an Obamaholic."

    LOL

    Yeah, I was hustling today.

Got my mother, 2 sisters, niece, aunt, uncle to each give $5 for every state won to match my $10 for every state won.
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
Need I tell you, that showing my 80 something Uncle how to use the internet, and how he could donate online to Obama has been nothing short of hilarious.

With today, Obama's gotten five donations from him in little over a month.

    For the win in Iowa

For the loss in New Hampshire ( I can't even repeat my Uncle's sentiments about her fake ass tears)

For the loss in Nevada (like myself, he couldn't understand the Uncle Ruckus behavior of those HIllary tried to disenfranchie)

For the win in S. Carolina

"Ken, your mom is so kind. After seeing Michelle talk, and hearing her "tone", she reminds me of SheNehNeh from the Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell show -"Martin".""-----------------------------------------------------Seriously, bc you know black folk who don't worship the Clinton's have a "tone", Michelle passed the bar the first time (a feat HRC did not do hence the move and marriage in Arkansas)

After this election I hope that we are never indebted to the Democrats again! They don't respect us at all.

What makes the KKKlintons' self-loan of $5 million even worse, is that it's from shady and flat-out illegal campaign financing. Bill Clinton gets a $20 million payout from billionaire Ron Burkle into his "personal funds" while getting millions more from a Kazakhstan uranium mine deal and from some sheikhs in the UAE.

Any of y'all with a legal background, let's talk about filing an inquest with the Federal Election Commission. And let's make sure it's as nasty, ugly and public as possible. Transparency is the key here.
  • Lana · 1 year ago
One other thing too, any of y'all with Louisiana connections (or even if you don't), we really gotta do some phone-banking and canvassing in Louisiana for Obama.

Northern Louisiana is working-class country while Southwestern Louisiana is frustrated from the neglect following Katrina. We really need to concentrate there and emphasize why Obama is their candidate. Let's get to work on it!

    They were blogging on it:

Also check out the HRC supporters gaming the system. At Taylor Marsh.--------------------------------------------------------For anyone who has maxed out their contribution to Hillary: Join Emily's list and you can designate that your $$ go to Hillary.

And then everyone should donate a few $$ to Taylor Marsh!!!

I just discovered this site 2/3 weeks ago and DEPEND on the sanity here to keep me going and my spirits UP!---------------------------------------------------------------------Can we boycott Emily's list? Where'd we get this party over country crap?

    Aren't directed donations illegal?

Bill Clinton in December: "you couldn’t stop me from spending all the money I’ve saved over the last five years on Hillary's campaign if I wanted to, even though it would clearly violate the spirit of campaign finance reform".

"Straight from the Department of Adding Insult To Injury"

Ha Ha Ha Ha! That is hysterical. How can she balance the national budget when she cannot manage her own campaign? I remember watching the news and hearing that her campaign had bought an obscene amount of shovels. I remember thinking then that that was pretty frivolous.

I will be donating today to keep the momentum going. If you know anyone who has not donated, you need to sugguest them to donate. He will be burning through money this month. He still needs to start winning consistently and then more decisively in order to avoid a brokered convention, which favors HRC. It is going to take a lot of money over the next couple of months.

Don't count her out though. She is really good at playing the victim card and has no problem using it. I am disturbed at the amount of emotional blackmail people buy into. As for Taylor Marsh, I believe she is on HRC's payroll. They discovered she was taking money from a group affiliated with the Clintons. Some people really have no shame.

I gotta admit, that is pretty sad. There's no good way Clinton can spin that.

    ATTENTION!!!!!!!

People please stay focused on this super delegate issue. As most of you know, super delegates can override the popular vote of their constituency. Many of the super delegates are members of the congressional black caucus, and most support Clinton. That being said, Obama enjoys the overwhelming support of African Americans as evidence of his wins in South Carolina and Missouri. In my view it would be criminal if those super delegates within the cbc went against the popular will of those they represent. So stay on top of this issue and let your representive know that your watching.

Yes--but...they did make it back in as of 10am EST. I don't think there was a shortfall. The Clintons lie all the time. She cries when she needs the middle aged white women to come to her rescue. She knows that Latino men don't vote but latino women yearn to have the power she has. There is a lot of cynical, stin mist in the air and the only way to disperse it is with a big fan. I've tried to do that on my blog: openly labelling the CBC, Ron Dellums as COONS, no matter how much folk take offense. Anyone who cannot see the direct and stunning correlation between Obama's run, and 26 souls--shivering, frightened, wracked with pain and covered in filth--shved off a Portuguese caravelle 400 years ago onto a dock at Jamestown--is a coon...especially if they are cooning for more goodies, more largesse and phony prestige...more crumbs from the Clintons' table. Outrageous. Raise money, shame the coons. That's my strategy for Obama.
And if all else fails, I'll be out there stumping for Old John as long as Huckabee's not the VP...

Great Job Jack/Jill....Here's a bit more on the subject from Blacks4Barack!:

    CLINTON CAMPAIGN GOING BROKE ?

Asks Campaign staffers to Work Without Pay !

    February 6, 2008

Aside from losing 13 of 22 states and being behind in delegate count 838 to 834 after Super Tuesday, the Hillary Clinton Campaign has even more problems. In a report filed by Tucker Carlson of MSNBC it has been exposed that the Hillary Clinton Campaign may be in dire straits financially. The New York Post filed the following: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton loaned her campaign $5 million from her personal bank account late last month, officials acknowledged today -- a surprising twist in the deadlocked race for the Democratic nomination.

"Late last month Sen. Clinton loaned her campaign $5 million," Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson said late yesterday, after he was first questioned about possible Clinton-self-financing in a conference call with reporters.

"The loan illustrates Sen. Clinton's commitment to this effort and to ensuring that our campaign has the resources it needs to compete and win across this nation," he added.

"We have had one of our best fundraising efforts ever on the web stoday and our Super Tuesday victories will only help in bringing more support for her candidacy."

The move came after Clinton's fundraising for January paled in comparison to rival Sen. Barack Obama's – he raised a staggering $32 million to her $13.5 million, officials said.

And the two are hunkering down for a drawn-out war of attrition over the next several weeks of primaries and caucuses, after last night's Super Tuesday battles failed to crown a clear winner.

Several people close to the campaign were unaware of the loan, sources said.

"He's got a huge advantage in that he is the Internet candidate," said one Clinton campaign source, referring to Obama's ability to raise web bucks. (end of article)

In spite of the spin the Clinton Campaign may attempt to put on this revelation, MSNBC's Carlson reported today that Clinton Campaign staffers are being asked to work without pay through the month of February including some of the higher-ups on the staff. Andrea Mitchell from MSNBC reports that the Clinton campaign mismanaged funds by over spending in Iowa which was a losing effort. We already know that she can't manage Bill but now Clinton's financial woes make some wonder, if she can't manage her campaign....how could she manage a country. Should she be trusted handling America's economy ? With money problems like these....no wonder she cried !

Folks, not only should we aware of the Super Delegates and how they could thwart our votes, but we definitely should stay up on the issue of Michigan and Florida delegates. From what I'm hearing, there's a chance that those delegates could be seated at the Convention. That would be extremely unfair to Barack because his name was not on either of those ballots.

If those delegates are seated and allowed to be counted, Barack can sue. The matter would likely be decided in court. Do we really want this to come down that?

This is something that Howard Dean needs to address right friggin' now, and he needs pressure from US to put pressure on the Clintons to see that the writing is on the wall. If Hillary wins; we walk. And the Party is finished.

It's high time we started flexing the political muscle [that some folks don't want us to know] we have.

This is just a thought: Is it possible that that CBC equally
divided as a strategy so as not to

ghettoize Obama? If all openly supported him wouldn't that make a negative headline?

    Ya'll,

Watch what happens when white women see that mean old negro Obama beating up on that poor defenseless hillary. She can't even raise any money, poor thing.

It's just how bigotry works, the reason Obama and Hillary are fighting so hard to look like the underdog is that people hate it when women or black people act like they've earned something.

    Don't believe the HYPE!!!!

The clintons are faaaarrrrr from broke, this is nothing but spin to take your attention away from two things.

1.The theft of New Mexico from Obama...who's the govenor there and why is it taking so long for the results from tuesday?

I guess they would rather lose 13-9 than 14-8 huh.

2.The pity party generated from floating this bullshit about being broke will make it easier for them to DEMAND the delegates from MI&FL;!

See these people for the scum that they are and stay focused.

Have you noticed since they came out with this broke nonsense that no one is talking about the fact that Obama beat team clinton in states and delegates on tuesday?

Regarding the superdelegates and the FL/MI delegates...don't you think that too much of an infight within the democratic party could turn people off to whoever the nominee ends up being? Not to mention-since we're on the subject of fundraising-that's going to be an expensive and distracting legal challenge.

Clinton's supporters are more inclined to stick with the party no matter what. Obama's supporters are seeing the party for what it is ... and isn't. The more in-fighting that occurs, the better it is for Obama. Black and independent White and Asian liberals will feel further disaffected and will walk. The Dems will never win another slim majority.

Does Howard Dean want that? I don't think so.

I just contribute last night to Obama's campaign. My wife and I also caucus in Colorado for him too. Man, it was a great feeling to see individuals of all walks of life come out and support Obama in Colorado.

I do have a question I want to ask everyone:

Should he accept Hillary's request to debate every week or should he be selective with the debates he does with her within the next four weeks?

Personally, I think he should debate her two times one on one on the issues (i.e. economic policies, gun control, Iraq, Security, Immigration). And, I think one of these debates should be on FOX (don't throw stones at me...lol...he needs to reach out to some of those individuals too because some of them are always saying he is not specific on issues and this would be the perfect forum to give them the specifics). That would be the compromise I would make with her in regards to these debates. I don't want him to be portrayed by her spin captains as someone who is scared to debate her. We need to take it to her but in dignified matter.
  • D. · 1 year ago
    dre,
You're right; Obama should do a Fox News debate with Clinton. That would be a great place for a debate on immigration, national security, and the War on Terror.

And with that said, McCain and Huckabee should debate in a forum that would (probably) be equally hostile to them as Fox would (probaby) be to Obama/Clinton.
  • Lolo · 1 year ago
I agree that he should debate her and that he should use it to show just what his strengths are. At the end of the day, if he has to get ugly with her then it does undercut the core issue of what he speaks to. He must continue to be "anti Rovean" because that is a huge part of what folks are rallying to.

There is the latest crud coming out of the press about how Obama's supporters are cultish, etc. Sigh. It's always something with those people in search of another headline BUT instead of being so fervent in our support of him that we descend to their level of hate and spin, we need to keep ourselves higher than them and on track with what appeals to more and more people every day.

    Character. Integrity. Peace.

HRC's people just can not win on those three points and the press and the fundies will make at least two of those points for us.
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
Hell no, he shouldn't debate. He doesn't need the publicity, she does. He shouldn't even think about it until after the Chesapeake Primary. And then, only one.
  • Ronnie B · 1 year ago
It's good for Obama as the candidate, but is it good for Obama as the nominee?

I suppose so. If Obama is the nominee, the Clinton supporters will likely fall in line. After all, this is all about business; nothing personal.

To the contrary, if Clinton gets the nomination, Obama supporters would take all this business quite personally.

If Obama wins, everyone wins. If Obama loses, everyone loses.
  • CAB · 1 year ago
Why debate on FOX? They would have little chance to reach out to anyone, and they'd be validating Fox News. There's no need nor benefit.
  • Ronnie B · 1 year ago

I agree. Enough with the debates already. They've had, what, 10?
  • D. · 1 year ago
    rikyrah,
Why not? Slug it out with Clinton for once.

    cab,

Fox News doesn't need validation. And I think it would be good to see the candidates talk about things they they get softballed on in debates. Fox will beat Clinton and Obama up equally on the War on Terror and national security issues.
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
    They have had 19 debates.
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
When someone is down, you dont help them up!That's politics and if the shoe were on the other foot you can bet clinton WOULD NOT GIVE A DAMN about what Obama wants or needs.
There have been enough debates and enough clinton speak(evading the real question, shouting over your opponent, pandering to whatever ethnic group you happen to be within 100 miles of).

What happened to their 35 years of experience?

In those 35 years did they EVER help an opponent when they were clearly down?

I'm curious to know how Black conservatives are fairing these days, what with Obama not being the perennial "black candidate" that so many expected.

It must feel pretty damned awkward to be amongst their white conservative "peers", while Barack pretty much crushes every Black stereotype that conservatives rely upon to justify their existence.

I found this on the chicago tribune blog site.
The next time you encounter someone spouting off about experience or DEBATES,hit them with this.

Oh yeah d&dre....JUST; SAY NO TO FAUX NEWS!

Are you just an uninformed voter, or simply a HRC campaign poser willing to distort the facts? I will assume the former and give you the benefit of the doubt, but please read the following information gathered from the Library of Congress. Feel free to check these records for yourself; better still, read a little more, and try and stay current before posting assinine comments:

Clinton v. Obama on Legislative Experience:

Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.

These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you:

    1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.

    2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.

    3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

    4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.

    5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.

    6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.

    7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.

    8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.

    9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.

    10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.

    11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.

    12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.

    13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.

    14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.

    15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton's bills are, more substantive. 16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.

    17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11

    18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.

    19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.

    20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

There you have it, the fact's straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize.

During the first (8) eight months of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced

    233 regarding healthcare reform,

125 on poverty and public assistance,

    112 crime fighting bills,

    97 economic bills,

60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,

    21 ethics reform bills,

    15 gun control,

6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These inculded

**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),

**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),

**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,

**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),

**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.

In all since he entered the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no legislative record. . . .

My last point: Obama needs name recognition, he needs to be among the people, so people feel like they have access to him. HRC's debate challenge is more about the fact that her campaign is running low on money and she gets free air-time without spending anything. Would you give up the chance to see 20,000 voters up close and personal to be on a televised debate? No way! Obama, stick to your guns. Debate on your terms, not Hillary's!

    Go Obama 2008!

Ok fine, no more debates now but what about in the national campaign where there will be more debates and McCain brings up O's the rated the most liberal in the Senate; has missed the most votes then any other senator since being there a mere 3 years; skipped the Iran vote that he crucifies Hillary on; that his wife sits on the board of one of Wal-marts biggest suppliers and has done nothing about women workers or unions or health care provided to the surrounding poor communities and the rates it charges; his stating in his Iowa victory speech, which is now compared to Dr. King's I have a Dream speech that he passed Nuclear regulation leg. when it in fact was never passed even after being watered down (but he took the owner's campaign contributions and axlerod used to work for them) and his fighting for the Maytag workers who lost their job when all reports indicate his was MIA on the issue, has received over $300K in campaign donations from the owners of Maytag and the workers union is support her, or the fact that as chairmen of the Senate sub-committee on foreign affairs and hasn't held a signal committee yet or the awarding by his church of its highest honor to Louise Farrakhan or the fact that his relationship with Resko goes way beyond working 5 hours for him as a young lawyer. I don’t expect anyone here to respond to these items and she won’t bring them up as she is worried about being labeled as divisive; but McCain will.

    Hillary for President

Not only did we celebrate huge victories for Hillary all over the country on Super Tuesday, but you matched our success with a breathtaking show of support.

You exceeded our $3 million goal in less than 24 hours. In fact, we've already hit FOUR MILLION DOLLARS! Incredible! And so far, more than 35,000 people -- 35,000! -- have made online contributions.

I'm simply awed to see everyone stepping up for Hillary. And boy did you pick a good time to do it! We poured our heart, our soul, and -- you better believe -- tens of millions of dollars into February 5. Now it's time to build our resources back up for what we know will be a long and hard-fought contest.

If you've been considering whether or not to give, Hillary needs you right now. The next contests for the nomination are just days away.

We have the best candidate. We have the best strategy. All we need to win are the resources to put our plan into place. And we are depending on you.

You accomplished something incredible in the last 24 hours -- $4 million contributed and 35,000 online donations. We know you can sustain our campaign when we need you the most.

    Sincerely,

    PSD

This is nothing but a ploy from the Clinton campaign! Why do you think she released the information that she loaned the campaign $5MM? This is a free national fund-raising appeal to women. She knows it will elicit sympathy and the money will start pouring in. Women will probably be stopping her on the street to in dollar bills to her pantsuit. She wants to demonstrate her prowess with women voters. Come on, y'all, stop being so gullable!

I have known from day one that she was playing the fool when she was acting like she had superior experience and had the ability to get things done. Go look up Obama's record in the Illinois State Senate, its just as good he was there from 1996-2005.

People in the beginning gave Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton all this clout. Giuliani is hated in New York and far from capable of running this country. I had to deal with him as mayor of New York from for too long, hes a dictator. I'm happy he was able to prove that now its time for Hillary to follow suit.

Need any further evidence that this was a Clinton ploy? Here you go:

Clinton claims a money surge, plans ads

Terry McAuliffe told donors and reporters on a conference call that the campaign has raised $7.5 million online this month, more than $6 million of it in the last 24 hours.

The message: She's alive and kicking.

Interestingly, the campaign's spin is that Clinton's loan to the campaign -- taken by many as a sign of desperation -- was an effective fundraising tactic, encouraging people to donate.

"They said, 'I didn’t know you needed money, I thought you had all the money you need,'" McAuliffe said.

Please, Black folks, use your third eye and stop falling for this non-sense.

I agree with nmp and ronnie b. This whole, "I'm running out of money and can't pay my staff" admission yesterday was a ploy to get people donating to her campaign. She earned $6.4 mil in 24 hours.
