Jack and Jill Politics: Hillary As The Dead Parrot From Monty Python. Funny. Sad

  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
I read this piece 3 or 4 times and totally cracked up with it. Milbanks had a fun time with this piece. I know I loved reading it.

I was thinking about posting it; I'm glad you did.

Obama is campaigning in Michigan today. He's doing an economic town hall meeting in working-class Warren which is streamed live on CNN.com.

    He's doing well.

You know, I'm no longer worried about Hillary damaging the Party.

Anyone who would actually rather help Hillary do this to herself rather than vote for Obama hate him so much that they are never going to vote for him. And even with that, he is still holding his own against McCain.

rikyrah, that link is priceless. And it shows how Hillary Rodham Nixon is holding the party hostage. And how the party is letting her do it.

She must have a lot of dirt on a lot of people for them to be allowing her to destroy it.

    NARAL endorsed Obama.

Let the ' Judas' Comments begin from Hillpatine lackeys.

Among the interesting things about the media coverage since West Virginia is that some of the same people who on the night of North Carolina and Indiana said it was all over, now were suggesting maybe not.

The media is like another horse in the race, whose interest is simply seeing the race continue. Asking question after question about Obama's problem with white voters begs many questions. Where are the questions about Clinton's problems with African American voters, or educated voters. Has everyone in front of a camera forgotten that Obama could not be where he is unless a whole lot of white people voted for him.

The solace that I take is that the topic will shift next Tuesday after Obama wins again.

As much as Millbank's article cracked me up, I think this is a better Monty Python metaphor for the campaign.

I have always been particularly creeped out by her "pointing and waving" schtick because it seems so fake and gross. So I especially appreciated the part about how she pretended to see an old friend to point and wave to but it was an aide she had been talking to. It also makes me kind of cringe on her behalf - pathetic. Just pathetic.

Anyway, the use of the Dead Parrot skit is inspired. I love this!

    --------------------

Chris Matthews straight up said last night the media wants this thing to continue all the way to Denver because it's fun and exciting for the media. One thing I've come to know about the media during this primary season is the media is creating the news instead of reporting it.

    NARAL Pro-Choice America backs Obama

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080514/ap_on_el_pr/obama_endorsement;_ylt=An0h5EMt_nDMKexdw2bx1SSs0NUE

NEW YORK - Democrat Barack Obama has won the endorsement of NARAL Pro-Choice America, a leading abortion rights advocacy organization that has supported rival Hillary Rodham Clinton throughout her political career.

The organization announced the endorsement of its political action committee on Wednesday.

"Pro-choice Americans have been fortunate to have two strong pro-choice candidates in Senator Obama and Senator Clinton, both of whom have inspired millions of new voters to participate in this historic presidential race," NARAL president Nancy Keenan said in a statement. "Today, we are proud to put our organization's grass-roots and political support behind the pro-choice candidate whom we believe will secure the Democratic nomination and advance to the general election. That candidate is Senator Obama."

anybody want to guess who this "major super" who's ready to endorse Barack is?

Politico has been reporting on it for most of the afternoon. Though i doubt it, I hope its Al Gore.

    Doing my non Clinton Math,

John Edwards had 19 delegates. Barack is currently 25 delegates away from securing the lead in pledged delegates..Assuming those delegates come Baracks way, the new question is, will he hit 6 before by the end of tommorrow night?
  • Craig Hickman · 1 year ago
smoothie, Barack has an insurmountable lead in pledged delegates already.
  • smoothie · 1 year ago
craig, i dont even doubt it. I just want the MSM to acknowledge that with the current rules, (none of this 2210 BS) that Barack will secure the lead and make it final.

The MSM is slowly tryin to play along with hrc (not alot but some) I figure if he can get to 2025 they can squabble with HRC all they want to about numbers, but Barack will have gotten to the finish line.
