Jack and Jill Politics: Hillary "Tonya Harding" Clinton Big Dollar Donors Threaten Pelosi & DCCC

  • submariner · 1 year ago
I would refer you to an underrated Orson Wells film, The Magnificent Ambersons. It depicts what happens to an aristocracy when confronted with change not of its own design and the prospect of being displaced by an elite which derives it prestige not from family ties and origin but by its ability to harness the forces of industry and capitalism.

The Clinton donors face the same existential threat in Obama. For what is the good of being a millionaire or billionaire if an upstart candidate can come along and raise more money from small donors and secure the nomination if not the presidency? Gone will be the days of having to come hat in hand to a small cadre of the ultra-rich. They need Obama the way a stagecoach manufacturer needed the automobile. This is why Hillary Rodham Clinton is still in the campaign. It's not just her and Bill's future at stake but a whole political landscape dominated by the power elite but marketed as democracy.

This is exactly what I saw on Keith
    Olbermann tonight. The ultra rich

back Clinton and want her to get the nomination by any means necessary.

    However, Jonathan Alter was saying

that Obama has raised so much money

that Pelosi need not fear the backers. They don't have much clout now. The sooner all this is over, the happier I will be!

Jonathan Alter says Clinton Campaign is on death throes! They're desperate!

This is the death throes if I've ever seen it. Why the hell would you piss off the Speaker of the House when she controls the future ambitions of the 55 or so undeclared Super Delegate Members of the House. Yeah, that one makes sense.

Note that this leaked. I am positive that Pelosi leaked it herself. Pelosi has really been the only true leader in our party. She has consistently argued behind the scenes for a more positive campaign. She only took it public after she was ignored by the Clinton camp. She has done a phenomenal job keeping the party from totally blowing up.

I wonder what she will do in response to this. I could see this irritating her to the point where she endorses--and brings 30 Congresspeople along for the ride.

We should drop a money bomb for the DCCC. I bet a couple million could be raised with a well coordinated on-line pitch. And if that is done, then it makes it a lot easier for Pelosi to tell these people to go away.

Quick we need new campaign finance reform. The middle class is trying to take over the country with their small contributions to Obama. The Clinton campaigns high rollers can't keep up. This isn't fair...

Clinton and her band who thinks we will all come together is total bs.

She is the worst person se could ever want as our party leader and if the leader Dems think we will just sit back and recieve whatever they want to dish us....once they steal the nomination from Obama...

    no way

Superdelegates, the power brokers of the Democrat party, like the TOP DOWN system. It preserves their place in the power structure. Obama and his grassroots/netroots base threatens that power structure.

That is why superdelegates were created in the first place. None of us have any power. The system was designed this way, to preserve the status quo.

Clinton is the choice of the establishment and the establishment holds the power.

What if the establishment doesn't really want Obama to be president? Like Ed Rendell said, what if some white superdelegates are "not ready" to elect a black president?
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
Why is it that if she believes superdelegates should not overturn the outcome from primaries and caucuses she has not spoken up about Kennedy, Kerry and Richardson endorsing Obama? Why has she not explained to them that Hillary won their states, therefore according to her, they should leave Obama's column and join Hillary's.

The "rules" are that superdelegates were chosen to select whoever they think has the best chance to win the general election, NOT to vote with their states. Obama threw that theory out when he accepted the backing of superdelegates that come from states that Hillary won. That argument is no longer valid and Pelosi needs to catch up to what is happening and either say that Kennedy, Kerry and Richardson are wrong to do what they are doing or admit that because the rules say that superdelegates can vote for their choice, whatever they decide will be fair.

I'm so sick of this. My fiance and I decided that we were gonna make a donation of $20 a piece on payday to the Obama campaign. Now we could use that $40 to put in the gas tank, but this has got to stop. I have NEVER made a donation to anyone's campaign before, but this crap is starting to grate my last nerve.

bottom up was what I saw in Obama back in Iowa last summer.

Isn't that what a Democrat should be?

And people (the MSM actually) say there is no difference in their politics.

Thanks heavens for the revolution at the DNC a couple of years ago or this would have been wired top down for Hilary.

This money threat is the counter-revolution.

What I plan to tell fund raisers these days is... I'm holding on to my money till the super D's sort this out.

    Y'all,

Make no mistake, this is an effort by white Hillarycrats to intimidate and neutralize Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat whose House district was overwhelming carried by Barack Obama in the California Primary. It is a clumsy shot accros the bow to let a sistah know that they will lynch her ass is she does anything that will be favorable for Obama.
