    WARNING: Off-topic:

"In a brief but animated Senate floor confrontation last week, according to a campaign aide who asked for anonymity when talking about private discussions, Obama told Lieberman he was surprised by Lieberman's personal attacks and his half-hearted denials of the false rumors that Obama is a Muslim. (The aide says Lieberman was "strangely muted" during the exchange; a Lieberman spokesman says the chat was "private and friendly.")"

I don't trust Joe LIE-Berman. He's been up to shady stuff.

I like the idea of a 50-state strategy. Get out there and make your case to anybody and everybody.

That said, part of me doesn't want to acknowledge some of the Appalachian bigot Democrats who refused to vote for a Black man. I also have misgivings about Barack trying to "reach out" to confederate flag-waving people.

To Ronnie b You might not get all of them but what if you can get 20% of them, there is one poll out saying that Obama may get up to 40%of the evangelical vote.No matter how racist they are fight for every vote frame the issues towards their pocketbook,Obama shouldnt but the blogs should taalk about McCains lack of family values concerning his first wife. You may not get the white rural bible thumbers but you can prevent them from voting for McCain

That "50%+1" strategy cost Gore and Kerry their elections because the DLC has always spearheaded that strategy.

It only worked for Clinton in '92 because of a jug-eared businessman name Ross Perot taking 20% of Pappy Bush's vote, and allowing Clinton to win with less than 50%.

It's the same reason the DLC wanted Howard Dean out of the DNC - they were too LAZY to campaign in all 50 states. And they wrote off the South since 1960.

Bad strategy, because it never resulted in the Democrats winning the White House since Jimmy Carter. I don't count the Clintons - if Ross Perot is not in the race, that "50%+1" loses them the White House in 1992 as well.

The DLC lies when they take the credit for Clinton's win in 1992 - Ross Perot allowed Clinton to beat Bush, hands down.
