Is John McCain Dissing Black Republicans?

Started by baratunde aka jack turner · 1 year ago

Just read this interesting insight into those wacky black Republicans’ minds these days. What are they thinkin’ bout Obama vs. McCain? Well, apparently, they are feeling dissed and marginalized by the McCain Campaign and searching for a home. To which I say, hey, feel free to cross right back over ... Continue reading »

  • They should be concerned about McMoron. However, if I were them, I would be more worried about whether McBush would do to Black appointees what Bush did.

Yeah OK, he promoted and hired a lot of blacks. But, look at whom he hired and what they did.

Condi Rice and Colin Powell are now war criminals (re: Torture-gate) and both of them have almost no credibility on the international political market. Alphonso Jackson is a RACE TRAITOR who only got his job because he was Bush's neighbor, and signed off on poisoning people in Baltimore.

The rest of his hires were corporate cronies.

And don't get me started on the Armstrong Williams debacle.

McCrane, meanwhile, voted against every piece of civil rights legislation that came his way, plus voted against MLK holiday and Medicare fund releases for Katrina victims. So they have every right to be worried- McCrap will treat them worse than Bush did.

You sleep with dogs you get fleas.
  • Hold up?!? They gotta have
    'clandestine meetings'? WTF?
  • Black folks have to register as Independents.

I'm sorry but this primary has shown me how much I mean to the democratic party. And while I am a democrat, I can vote any one in who will respect me and my people.

When a republican WINS based on the black vote. When a republican comes up through the black vote; the democrats will think twice before deeming the race baiting that has occured as acceptable.

    That's my view.

The hispanic community goes either way: they're conservative about gays but progressive on immigration. They vote their interests and not in lockstep with a party. They vote for those who deliever.

What have our politicians delivered to us? Education? Help with the inner city? Change?

I'm commited to putting Barack Obama in office; but there are a host of people who where in camp Clinton that NEED a primary challenge.

And I will cash in to every one that I can afford.
  • Hey Shrub's pastor is Black and Condi is his 2nd wife so he just lurves Black peeps!
  • "Senator McCain said he would like to reach out to African Americans. However, his campaign has done no more than hold some private meetings with a few black Republicans who are trying to figure out how they can play with McCain. Minus a couple of black folks seen with him on the campaign trail, you still don't see many in the room with McCain when he is meeting and greeting or standing in crowds."

Hey Black Republicans, shhhhh, be quiet, I got somethin' to tell ya'll. Youse free, youse free glory hallelejah youse free.

Standing there waiting to be petted on the head. DAMN.

And my all-time favorite quote from this ridiculous article:

"When President Bush traveled from state to state, there were always African Americans involved. You never saw so many black dots as at the 2000 and 2004 Republican National Conventions."

Calling them handkerchief heads would be an insult to the usual run-of-mill handkerchief heads, ie., Colin Powell and Condoliezza Rice, after all they get paid to lie.

Are these supposed to be the elite of the Black community who have arrived to the point that they are now wanted in the Republican Party? Please let them have them, their groveling is stomach turning.

    DAMN. JUST DAMN.
  • LOL, have they ever had a place in that so called 'party?' He should treat them like the chumps they are. For all his alleged 'maverick' ideas, he is still a old white guy with a old white guys look on race. But, they'll find a couple for trot out for the convention and put back in the closet until 2012.
  • If blacks were to re-register en masse to 'independent' the country would be the better for it.

Blacks who feel taken for granted by Democrats and ignored by Republicans can only benefit.
  • i agree with 's' on ths 'independent' point.
  • If there is a choice between the Blacks and the Whites, the GOP always chooses the Whites and the Democrats will try to choose on principles.

The Confederate flag is such a choice.
  • Interesting listen folks...

I guess one way to look at this is people go to republican side, versus the democrats come to people. What I mean by this is when you see clearly on what both are about, most fit it is easy or have an affinity for the republicans. Where as the democrats have to constantly keep telling you what they are going to do for the constituents (more government programs, etc). If everyone would take care of themselves, their families, the neighbors, their neighborhoods, and their communities and not look for someone to take care of this for them, we would all be better off. We also would need less government. Just say no and do it yourself – you will be glad you did!
  • I completely agree with you and I am a former Democrat. I do not want government controlling my life and I look to no one for my needs other than me and God. I believe in working hard for what you want...it's not how much money you make, but it's what you do with it. The American people are slowing losing all of their rights in every aspect and they don't even see it happening. No, we do not need more government programs. The more handouts the government gives you, the more they control you...duh!
  • GIve me a break! What has Obama actually proposed? Spouting empty campaign rhetoric like - "yes we can", change we can believe in", "hope" - doesn't actually paint a clear picture of administration policies. We don't need more social programs that will cost taxpayers more money. People who don't pay taxes shouldn't be getting tax "rebates". More American tax dollars (we already spend our fair share) should not be tapped for Obama's goal of reducing global poverty by 50%.
  • rikyrah: -er, -ummmmmmmm, I'm thinkin' that this should NOT have been written in 2008:

I have received a number of anonymous emails from Black Elephant office holders from around the country and I have been a part of some clandestine meetings and conference calls with a number of prominent African American Republicans from Texas to Washington, DC who repeatedly ask: What is going to happen to us?

Lawd ha'mercy people! Where have you been? Didn't you get the memo/e-mail back in 1865? You's FREE!! FREE!! FREE AT LAST!!
