right now on msnbc some guy is talking to Tamara about "if" Obama is the nominee she will support him and that there are a few more months until the Nov elections and anything can happen. Also that she said she would do whatever it takes to ensure a democrat is wins the election in the fall to include taking the VP spot "if" Obama is the nominee.
  • Val · 1 year ago
I was so annoyed I forgot to say who the "she" is. The guy was talking about Hillary Clinton and tried to give reasons why Hillary did not congratulate Obama at the AIPAC convention when he congratulated her.

    I should have said

    thank you all!

    thanks for the good company.

when it all started, i thought hillary was an option. she was something like the "good clinton". not the one who'd stain a blue dress in the oval office, and send missiles to kill innocent poeple when the stain grew bigger.

she was like bill clinton, but not that evil bill. the one who should know better, and do better.

    wrong i was.

from her arrogant attitude to her bosnia trip, from the "as far as i know" to the bobby kennedy incident, hillary was nasty. she was disagreeable. she was uttely disgusting.

and all the while another man grew and became the option.

now he'll be president. mccain is nothing but an empty suit. a man without honor, who had to live through the most distasteful attacks on his family only to still embrace (quite literally, the photos are there) the man who perpetrated those attacks.

a man with little brains, as is evident in each and all of his speeches. not a bad man, but no option at all.

a war hero? a war survivor: it takes so little to go to war, just follow the orders. and it is only a physical feat to survive captivity. this does not endow anyone with political savvy.

such an opponent in a time when oh so many are fed up with the republicans... the result was always clear: a dem will win!

that was sure from the start. i am happy to not have been alone while that price seemed all too many times about to be taken away not by the bushies, but by those false friends called the clintons.

my only hope is now that one day we'll read in somebody's memoires how obama erased the debts of hillary's campaign and -only by money- brings her to where her dignity should have long ago, if it only existed: to go away.

my only worry is still a veep called clinton.

please, don't! please. it's nonsense, a dangerous one.

thanks to all who were there to share despair, analysis and, above all, hope.

Just watched the View. All of them were soo pro Hillary that they supported her in the NY Primary, except for the Republican chick.

ANyway today Barbara Walters asked the clique if Obama should take her on as VEEP. They all said NO WAY. The stupid one, Cheri, changed her mind after the race baiting. Joy and Whoopi both said that last night showed she would be divisive. Whoopi said last night's speech proved to me this is not about our country it's about Hillary.

I think this is huge because they were really big supporters.

Well it's a good thing Joy and Whoopi woke up! From the quick clips that I saw of HRC's speech ruled out that small percent of a chance that might have been in the back of my mind b/c it was 100% clear that if he let her get away with it (holding the party hostange) one time she would always have the upperhand- he would always be a puppet with her pulling his strings. Delusional and narcissistic - yeah that's accurate!

On NPR when and for what show? And can I listen online?
  • LaTinaVA · 1 year ago
I would like to listen is as well...I also want the conversation to move on past the Clintons. And the only thing I've heard about Bo Diddley is that he passed away...

I read on Huff Post that Bill Clinton used an "offensive epitath" in an hour-long conversation with Clyburn. Does anyone know about this?
  • heartsandflowers · 1 year ago
Out of all the things to be offended about the press decides it's about Cheney's incest joke! I hope the Democrats use that in an ad during the General Election and those people that see race above all else will note how they're viewed by other whites in the Republican party.

Obama Taps Caroline Kennedy, 2 Others to Help Lead VP Search
    by Associated Press

    Wednesday, June 4, 2008

Facebook Stumble Upon del.icio.us Digg Email

WASHINGTON — Democrat Barack Obama has asked a three-person team, including Caroline Kennedy, to help lead the vetting of a prospective vice presidential candidate.

Kennedy has begun managing the process with high-profile Democratic insiders Jim Johnson and Eric Holder.

Johnson is the former CEO of Fannie Mae who also oversaw the vice presidential vetting for John Kerry in 2004 and Walter Mondale in 1984. Holder was deputy attorney general in the Clinton administration and has been a senior legal adviser to Obama’s campaign.

Said Obama spokesman Bill Burton: “Senator Obama is pleased to have three talented and dedicated individuals managing this rigorous process.”

    angela,

That sounds like a good team, thus far. I sense is that Caroline is someone he can trust. And Johnson as a former Attorney General will speak to the legalities of vetting.

It is clear to me that Barack knows how to source talent. It's an invaluable gift. Whereas Hillary said of the numerous economists who opposed her gas tax holiday they "don't understand it".

You know she's smarter than EVERYONE! LOL!

Also, it could be a way to limit the Clinton's complaining about who is VP. I don't think Hillary or Bill would publically fight with Caroline Kennedy on the vetting of Obama's VP.

I'm glad to see Caroline participate and become as involved as she is.

    Angela,

You are feeling extremely optimistic, ey????? At this point, I don't know if I have that much faith in Hill/Bill. I hope your right though!

    Against race politics,

It is just a guess. I have read that Jack Kennedy is one Bill's heroes and they were great admirer's of Jacqueline Kennedy. Hard to imagine they would make any attacks on Caroline Kennedy.

I don't see the Clintons coming out they necks sideways at Caroline Kennedy either. They're not THAT stupid...
  • TruthSeeker · 1 year ago
I meant to mention this last night. Hillary's gathering last night was at Baruch College.

Baruch is the (Hebrew?) root of Barack's name. It means "blessed".

Is she trying to be cheeky?

    Excerpt:

Senator Clinton's speech last night was a justifiably proud recitation of her accomplishments over the course of this campaign, but it did not end right. She didn't do what she should have done. As hard and as painful as it might have been, she should have conceded, congratulated, endorsed and committed to Barack Obama. Therefore the next 48 hours are now as important to the future reputation of Hillary Clinton as the last year and a half have been.

    I am disappointed.

23 top supporters told Hillary on the conference call today to drop out now.

    Excerpt:

“We pledged to support her to the end,” said Representative Charles W. Rangel, a New York Democrat who has been a patron of Mrs. Clinton since she first ran for the Senate. “Our problem is not being able to determine when the hell the end is.”
