Wow. Powerful stuff. I hope this gets mainstream coverage. Someone needs to send that video to Keith Olbermann.

Surge today, surge tomorrow, surge forever.

Now if only Obama will admit that the surge worked, I'll admit that the Iraq war was wrong and we shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Naw, it won't happen, but McSurge will keep talking about the surge until he can't talk anymore.

    McSurge - Lol!
  • GreenLadyHere · 1 year ago
Jack: "Whycome" "mcancient" is sooo possessive about the SURGE?? He could not have initiated it 'cause he wasn't [and probably will NOT be] the Commander-In-Chief when it was initiated!! So, really, what this says about him is his continuing REVERSAL into his YESTERYEARS [i.e., CHILDHOOD]!!! Behold some of those characteristics:
1.. He states one thing and THEN reverses[flip-flops]. Like a CHILDs "uh -uh" whine!
    2. He says one thing and THEN he forgets that he said it. Some CHILDREN do that.
    3. He POUTS 'cause the next POTUS went to GERMANY. So he goes to a GERMAN Restaurant! "Anything you can do, I can do better". [an "old school" song :>)] KIDS play that game!!
    4. "Cry Uncle", Mr. Obama. Please say the SURGE worked!! Didn't KIDS use to hold each other in headlocks until one said that desirable something???
Is there a PATTERN here? I'm just observin' and sayin' :>) :>) So I'll be on "KIDDY WATCH" from now on! :>) :>)
  • GreenLadyHere · 1 year ago
Well I didn't even get any breathing space and here's "MCANCIENT" again - representin' for #2 on my previous post:

    http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archives/2008/07...

"McCain Questions Speech {Mr. Obama's in Germany}, FORGETS Canada".

Wha-ha-happened was that "mcancient" stated that he wouldn't give a speech outside of this country until he was POTUS. As is the CASE, on June 20, 2008, he gave a SPEECH in CANADA! How QUICKLY he FORGOT!!! :>) :>) "KIDDY WATCH!"
    I'm over & out!! :>) L8R

They're re-running a360 with Tara, Roland and Soledad on a panel. I'm just in time to hear Tara say that crack vs powder cocaine laws are not designed to debilitate communities. Soledad tries to interject and as is characteristic of Tara, she raises her voice and continues on for another 30 seconds essentially repeating herself. I observe that Tara is often discourteous on panels, interrupting frequently, being long-winded and repetitive and monopolizing the conversation. Soledad must wait patiently, and finally points out that these laws empty the black community of the men. Soledad seems perplexed at Tara's lack of compassion for her own. Tara manages to keep her conservative credentials intact.

Roland Fryer - who is a delight - is uncharacteristically subdued on this panel, perhaps even deferential. I wonder at the predatory air I sense between him and first Julianne Malveaux who calls him a "young black brother" and wants to see his "empirical data", and later Tara who looks at him like a cat at a very fat mouse. Do successful black women "swat" black men? The unfairness of it tugs on my heart, although I know that in this biological fray, I am often merely prey.
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
I think Roland Fryer may have been subdued by the thoughts of what crack cocaine had done within his own family. It was announced that his family was involved in the trade.

His story is one of success, yet them seemed to demean it by not really telling it only interjecting that piece about drugs.

Do successful black women "swat" black men?

    ::

    Now there's a question.
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
I dunno, Craig. I saw that exchange, and there was some serious ''philosophical" hatin' going on there between Malveaux and Fryer...JMO.

Successful Black women ' swatting' Black men.

Only certain kinds of Black women, and yes, those need to check themselves.
  • CraigHickman · 1 year ago
I didn't see the exchange. Just thought it was a provocative question.
  • PTCruiser · 1 year ago
Some brothers need to be swatted occasionally but Julianne Malveaux is the absolute wrong person to ever deliver that proverbial smack on the behind. She is just hiding a lot of personal relationship failures under the guise of politics.
  • CraigHickman · 1 year ago
That's the second time in less than a month I've heard that about her.

Looking at this dude, he looks old as shit now and it's only been a few years since some of these pictures were taken. No way he makes it through 1, much less 2 terms as president

    Interesting.

John McCain is what he always been. No change there. Ever. I am wondering, however, what folks here at Jack and Jill think about Senator Obama's veiled threats regarding Iran?
  • CraigHickman · 1 year ago
I'm not seeing the threat part, but he is talking pretty tough.

Gotta please those hardline Israelis to get elected.

Even some of the more liberal Israelis admitted as much in their assessment of his Middle East visit.
  • PTCruiser · 1 year ago
Yes, and sometimes promote policies that result in the deaths of 850,000 Iraqis and more than 4,000 Americans. In fact, maybe one could go a little further in one's effort to please hardline conservative Jews by calling for the use of nuclear weapons against Iran, as Israeli historian Benny Morris did last week in the New York Times.

What the hey! A few million dead Iranians here, a few million dead there and pretty soon were talking about a lot of dead Iranians. But it's okay because, Lawdy, Lawdy, we just got to get that colored man elected president.

If you were an Iranian, you would see the threat part fairly easy and you would not need an uncloudy day to aid your vision.
  • CraigHickman · 1 year ago
I guess I missed it when Barack threatened nuclear attack on Iran. So I guess I'll ask what veiled threats you're referring to, because I didn't see them.
