Jack and Jill Politics: Latino Groups Silent on Gonzales

  • nezua limón xolagrafik-jonez · 2 years ago
it's interesting...human nature. that when we want to attack a person from an already-attacked group (latinos, women, blacks, gays, etc), we grab right for the same old barbs, despite what the actual complaint is.

    interesting and ugly and sad.

The CHC is in disarray, because of internal conflicts.

I agree, these organizations need to say "Enough!"; support federal investigations into the AG/Meirs/WH's activities; and call for him to resign .

Maybe they're waiting. Let's be honest, if Clarence Thomas or Condi Rice got into serious trouble, would the NAACP, Urban League, et al, actually step up to the plate for them? Or let them twist in the wind, because they think ' no better for them.'

The difference with Rice is that she understands that she got where she was specifically without the help of the NAACP and the Urban League. The worst thing the Dems could do is try and take her on. She's one of the greatly beloved figures in the Republican Party, and was smart enough to stay out of trouble. Unlike Scooter. Or Dick. Or Gonzalez.

The black woman is the Last Man Standing. Whodathunkit?

Abu Gonzales is the Latino equal to Clarence Thomas.

And you know how most African-Americans feel about Unca Clarence...

his race never really enters the picture for me. i suppose i'd like to hear from LULAC, etc, but i really don't need them to. he's scum, an anticonstitutional authoritarian, he brought torture back to our land. i despise him for these reasons, and i don't slander others of his hue with an association with his ideas or principles just because of the similarity.

I posted a rather coarse assessment of Gonzales (and Rove) on my blog and do not apologize for it. The rapid righties on Fox News, the radio and the Hill wanted janet reno's ugly mug (I worked for her for three years) stuck on a spit for far, far less. I cannot believe that this Uncle Tomas holds the same office as Bobby Kennedy...

You said: "Look, take it from someone who knows. Just because someone looks like you (ahem, Clarence Thomas) doesn't mean they are on your side..."

I just want to add: and because they're " on your side" doesn't mean they're not working for something other than THEMSELVES!
