Vengeance belongs to the Almighty God.

And as an atheist, I don't expect you to understand anything I have said. Of course, it's all gibberish, nonsense to you. That's fine. Farrah was all permasoft hair, hairdo icon, intelligence and a great love story with Ryan. Michael was all tortured soul and by the way he was a musical genius.

________________________________

Re: Michael Jackson Remembrance Thread

George Carlin - Jacko Beats Them All
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Michael Jackson Remembrance Thread

That I get. I have not eaten or drank because it is just so surreal.I slept hoping I will wake up and it will be a hoax or a stunt.

I was born in 1986 (I am young I know) so I grew up with Mj being a part of my world and existence.

My first words were "I'm Bad". My parents set up a TV in my nusery and played MJ videos so I didn'tcry or act up. I learned to walk when I got up to walk towards to TV during one of his live appearances.

I remember seeing him in concert several times including the one back in 2001 in Ny. I flew to foreign countries for his concerts.

I became a dancer because of Michael...he inspires my art, fashion and ecclectic personal aesthetics.

My favorite movie is Moonwalker.

His music videos were primetime television, who can forget the long version of Bad with Wesley Snipes or Smooth Criminal.

I own all of his albums and I was honored when I was choosen to be in the crowd of children that appeared at a live performance years ago. I cried when I did not get to meet him.

I spent the last several years defending him against cruel attacks by greedy and judgemental people who could not see that he was emotionally and mentally unstable. His only fault was being born into such a unsympathetic society and being misunderstood. Listen to his song "Childhood"...it was his mainfesto...it was what was going on inside him. I cried everytime I heard it.I am tired of people calling him "wacko" and weird and crazy etc.. He was a good man with a good heart. He was damaged by a cruel society.

I was in California outside of the court room with the rest of his "crazy" (as the media called us) fans when he was charged with child molestation. People laughed at me up to Wednesday with what they called my "intense obsession" with Michael Jackson. I have tickets for his concert in London but I assume there will be no concert.I am and will always be a die hard fan. Words cannot capture the depth of my love for Michael.

Re: Michael Jackson Remembrance Thread

Pluky and Craig, I get that you agree with Sullivan. I think what I object to is the timing. Talk about the man's life work which is enduring first. The coda should be the personal price he paid for it. Talking about the personal price he paid before talking about his work- is I think-- ass backwards. MJ isnt in pain anymore- that earthly suffering, those demons- are left behind. What endures is the work he left behind- and that I think should be the starting point for any eulogy. And to me that didnt come across when I read Sullivan's entry.

________________________________

Re: Michael Jackson Remembrance Thread

Not surprising is it?

Re: Michael Jackson Remembrance Thread

You're also wrong about Karma. There will be no "comeuppance" for these people.

It is not honourable to scavenge, or seek cheap applause, or to be a sly preacher.

Fond of scriptures? Here's one for you:

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

You KNOW zippo.

Re: Michael Jackson Remembrance Thread

Great tribute H&F...I loved how you focused on his stellar achievements rather than his personal struggles. We (the fans, the family, the friends) do. Is that difficult for you to grasp?

I'd give you a scriptural basis too, but I know you're an atheist so it would just go over your head. Shoot, I'll do it anyway:

“And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Like I said, I know you can not appreciate it.
