NARAL endorsement is signficant. It helps to bring the party together. The healing can start.

The comments on the NARAL blog are something to behold. They're approaching 2000 comments on the post and I would say most are vitriolic in their opposition...Kind of an odd feeling for me, as NARAL has been on my yuck list for several years (Alito, supporting Lieberman against Lamont, etc) -- but in this I think they're shown good sense and some courage.

Emily's List has just blown up over this.

Man, talk about redrawing the lines.

One of Edwards' men just called Hillary "dead chick walking". LOL.

OMG - I just went to the NARAL site. I need a shower after reading through all the bile being thrown around. You'd think the Anti-Christ got an endorsement! Those women are really a piece of work. Not one person offered any legislation as an example of Obama's so-called disqualification for supporting women's reproductive rights. It was just I want Hillary blah blah blah...I'm not giving NARAL any more money...hate hate hate. The sense of entitlement and the pure unadulterated...gender bias was very telling. And SCARY!

I'd hate to be a negative Nelly but I believe the healing is far from starting.

I don't support NARAL anyway, so their endorsement isn't really relevant to me. BUT....

I think the vitriolic reactions to NARAL's endorsement of Obama are typical of second wave feminism (which Melissa Harris-Lacewell critiqued in her comments about Gloria Steinem and co). And they underscore the gender-race divide that exists between so-called liberal white women and blacks. The comments really do show that white feminists will forever be unable to step outside their privilege.

I think this election is revealing people's true colors (pun intended). LOL.

Correction: in my previous post, I meant to write "Melissa Lacewell-Harris."
