Jack and Jill Politics: Nas Joins Color of Change to Deliver Petitions to Fox News

    Karin:
    "Jesse loves me!"
    "He REALLY loves me!"

If this is true, John Edwards needs a beatdown for stepping out with Camilla Parker Bowles Jr. Just say no.
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
You are so wrong for that. LOL!

Karin Stanford and Jesse Jackson are both whores. Sorry, gotta call it like I see it. She has alot of nerve calling a family dysfunctional after she was all up in Mrs. Jackson's house chilling under the guise of writing a book about Jesse Jackson. I can't stand women like her, she's a tramp with a few degrees.

BAP: Tell us how you REALLY feel. :>) :>) CO-SIGNING! :>)

Oh and I'm not impressed by Nas' ignorant ass either. This is the same cat who said he doesn't believe in voting and that he may vote for Obama if he can fit it into his schedule.
  • Acts Of Faith Blog · 1 year ago
These organizations should be more concerned with their credibility when coordinating with certain celebrities. Wasn't Will Smith available? Nas takes 2 steps forward and 3 steps back.
  • Town · 1 year ago
Publicity stunt on Nas' part, IMO.

I'll bet a box of Krispy Kreme donuts that Bill O'Reilly will call ColorofChange a racist hate organization and he'll talk about how the gangsta rapper NAS loves the n-word so much that he wanted to name his album that but the good folks at Walmart took a stand against such racist filth.

JJ is taking a hit on another front as well.

Rhymeswithsnitch.com excerpted JJ's baby mama's comments about his contemptible on-air attack of Obama, as told to the National Enquirer:
Karin Stanford, who has a 9 year daughter with Rev Jackson [the Rev and Mrs. Jackson have been married for 46 years. Do the math] , says the good Rev. made the crack about Obama because he feels guilty about the relationship he has with his love child.

Karin believes, "Somewhere in the back of his mind, Rev Jackson has to acknowledge that he has his own responsibility to his daughter. . . . My daughter Ashley, who is 9 years old, has very little contact with her siblings. And although Jesse takes care of her financially and has a relationship with Ashley, she is still not considered a part of that family. Ashley is not even on anyone's Christmas card list!

"She [Ashley] has met three of the five Jackson children, but it was by accident-we ran into them" she says. "All of the Jackson children have kids of their own and they are Ashely's age. She is their aunt, but they have never met her. And to tell you the truth, even if Jesse took Ashley to see his family, it would have to be a chaperoned visit because I would literally be afraid to leave my baby alone with them. They are so dysfunctional, there is no telling what they would do or say to her."
  • Town · 1 year ago
"it would have to be a chaperoned visit because I would literally be afraid to leave my baby alone with them. They are so dysfunctional, there is no telling what they would do or say to her."

If that's the case, why would you want your baby around them at all? Maybe they don't want to be around Ashley because Karin Stanford is ca-razy. Maybe they want to wait until the little girl becomes an adult so they don't have to deal with her crazy momma.

99%: Thanks for this information. Sooo let me get this straight: Karin thought out this "FAMILY REUNION stuff all B4 she decided to "hook up" with JJ. In fact, her expressed desire to have this "Megafest FAMILY REUNION" seems to make you think that she woud like to get together with MRS. JACKSON and PLAN such! WHEW!!! (Deep breaths!)
This saga is another reason to discourage extramarital affairs. Look at the confusion created for the CHILDREN! [I know, B4 I get responses-some co-family relationships do work.] I'm just sayin' . . .
  • Acts Of Faith Blog · 1 year ago
Well, I'm not sure what Karin expects under the circumstances. She had a child with a married man. Despite what men say they rarely leave their wives and if they do there's already an established dynamic of lying, lack of respect and subsequent infidelity. Jacqueline Jackson was not going anywhere and I'm certain has had to endure her share of 'annoyances', like so many other women married to weak-willed but prominent men. The key is to learn and grow from the experience and try to have an appropriate male figure for her daughter.
  • GreenLadyHere · 1 year ago
heartsandflowere: Co-signing. I like the way you said it too.
  • 99 Percent Sure · 1 year ago
    Yeah, they're all ridin' dirty.

When the story first broke about her and Jesse, I thought she was younger - you know like in her early to late 20s. Finding out she was nearly 40 alerted me to the fact that she got pregnant on purpose. Now he shouldn't have been fornicating and barebacking it either - he is married after all - but still...

She got pregnant on purpose, not because she wanted to marry him but because she wanted to get paid without working for the next 18-20 years. I also thought that she and JJ unabashedly parading themselves in the WH under the guise of Jesse giving Billy Jeff 'spiritual' advice (ha!) during the Lewinsky fiasco was terribly shameless.

Nas ain't even on my radar; in fact, he's so far down my list, he ain't even on my list.

But I agree that all of them are scandalous, each and every one of them.
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
See I'm not the only one who thought she did it ON PURPOSE.

Oh, I believe she thought that he was going to leave his wife. Especially after The National Enquirer mess.

I still ask men.....he had FIVE CHILDREN. He's not poor. Why the hell didn't he have a vasectomy? If you KNOW, you don't keep it in your pants...why set yourself up for this possibility?
  • 99 Percent Sure · 1 year ago
As my mother said, if he was gonna be fornicating/adulterating, he should have worn a condom.
  • TruthSeeker · 1 year ago
The wrath of the math....the wrath of the biology.
  • GreenLadyHere · 1 year ago
    99%: Sooooo - TRU DAT!!!!!
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
Maybe I'm not ' sophisticated' enough for this.

But, woman gets paid every month and Jesse has a relationship with HIS daughter.

IF my father had an outside child AFTER I WAS GROWN....

I, um, I'm not saying that I'm big enough to want a relationship with said child.
  • GreenLadyHere · 1 year ago
    rikyrah: Gotta AGREE!
  • pjamma · 1 year ago
At some point I would want to have a relationship with my brother/sister but only if it was completely separate from the mom. I don't see that as a possibility in this case so I understand Jessie's kids are handling the situation.
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
Honestly, what did this woman think was going to happen?
  • kate03 · 1 year ago
I believe O'Reilly called NetRoots a leftist hate fest on Fox last night.

  • cheryl aka jill tubman · 1 year ago
Not sure what's up with the haterade around Nas. We complain when rappers focus on booties and violence. When one decides to speak up on a moral issue impacting our community, there's nothing but skepticism and shrugs? Come on people. We gotta support our brothers, especially those influential with youth of all colors around the world, when they do right.
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
Nobody, and I mean nobody, is hating on NAS. How can anyone take him seriously when he approves of the use of N word and whatever that nonsense he said about it.

He can help all he wants, but he should expect to be criticized for past behavior.
  • BlackAmericanPrincess · 1 year ago
Exactly. This is the same cat who does not believe in voting, he's said so in the past. He's wack. I lost all respect for him and his silly wife Kelis for proudly wearing their Nigger emblazoned gear at the Grammys.

    Again I say he's wack...
  • flygyrl72 · 1 year ago
I agree! Nas is an effin' joke! After that album stunt & the Grammys spectacle, I could give a damn about what he has to say, his actions alone have been more damaging than not. Stupid assed clown! Wackness!

I don't care how he tried to justify his actions & reasons behind trying to call his album that, when we as Black people, use that word, especially in mixed circles or public venues, it gives Whitey more of a validation to use it too...period.

I can't believe that Color of Change & Move On would even co-sign w/ him on anything...it makes them lose credibility, not gain it.
  • NO ID · 1 year ago
I think that if anyone that has issues with Nas actually listens to his latest CD, that will answer a lot of questions...but without listening to it and actually hearing what he has to say, it's hard to judge it. I have heard it and it's brilliant. He's been contradictory in his career to be sure, but he's also one of the most articulate and intelligent rappers out here. This particular project is among his very best, if not his absolute best.
  • eclecticbrotha · 1 year ago
I agree, Cheryl. We bitch and moan about brothas not trying to do anything positive, then we bitch and moan when they do. Stop the hating and learn how to get over shit, ya'll.

If we're talking about Baby Mamas, Drudge is linking to a story about John Edwards' supposed Baby Mama

I always had a problem with this story because of WHO owns the National Enquirer - Hillpatine supporter and Bubba Business partner RON BURKLE.

It was always curious to me how, week after week, there was some story about Edwards, then Obama in The Enquirer, but NOTHING about Hillpatine.

So, while I'm not saying this isn't true, let's just say I have the tinfoil hat on, and could this be related to THIS TIME STORY ON POSSIBLE OBAMA RUNNING MATES.

    Just wondering out loud.

I talked to a client today who just happens to work at the naval base in Brunswick, Maine. He told me that he can't vote for McCain anymore because he just found out about his poor record of supporting veterans. He was shocked he never knew about it. He simply assumed that the military candidate would automatically be better for him. He's not yet ready to vote for Barack even though he admits Barack's record with veterans is good. I asked him who Barack had to pick for his VP in order to make him consider it more seriously. He said John Edwards might do the trick. I asked him why, kind of surprised because national security is one of his top priorities. He simply responded, "I like the way he looks." Now, this is a straight man with a family and he wants Barack to pick a guy as VP because of his looks? "But he has no national security experience," I responded. To which he said, "Barack has that in the bag." Really? "Yup." Totally confused, I asked him why he wasn't comfortable voting for Barack, to which he replied, "He looks too good."

    I'm not making this up.
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
    OMG.
  • TruthSeeker · 1 year ago
I'm kinda dense. What the heck did he mean by "He looks too good"?
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
He looks too good to be true, TS.

    This is Obama's curse.

Some folks don't 'trust' Obama because he doesn't seem to have any frailties.

Yet, the double-edged sword they'll never admit to:

If he had just ONE major skeleton..

    HE'D BE TOAST.

He's gotta be Jackie Robinson, yet some want to punish him for being Jackie Robinson.
  • CraigHickman · 1 year ago
I think this might be it, rikyrah.

He didn't provide meaning he just repeated "He looks too good" when I asked what that meant.

I'll see him next month and see where he stands then.
  • GreenLadyHere · 1 year ago
TruthSeeker: I tried to do a TRANSLATION in response to Craig. Sharing with you. :>) :>)
  • GreenLadyHere · 1 year ago
craig: TRANSLATION: [I'm borrowing this word] "We" [folks lacking color] are used to STRONG line-backers - named "Hit Man", for example, STRONG and POWERFUL point guards - named "boo yah", for example, and STRONG baseball players -named "Slugger", for example. These people are WINNERS!
Now what we see running for POTUS is a BRILLIANT [yes I went straight there], poised, confident, very well-spoken [ notice I avoided articulate :>)], personable, GOOD LOOKING, Black man . And he looks like he's WINNING, at this point. WELL, "we" jes cain't get our head wrapped around this!!!!

    Whew! (Deep breaths!)

  • smoothie · 1 year ago
    Jill,
Well said. Puffy has said comments, used the N word etc. and walks around with a Vote or Die shirt on and for the most part were cool with it. No ones perfect, and NAS has his issues. But geting people out to vote, Im cool with
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
What a terrible comparison. I don't have any more respect for him than NAS with all his baby mamas and felonious behavior.
  • NO ID · 1 year ago
Just for accuracy...Nas has one daughter...by one woman...
  • smoothie · 1 year ago
    ms martin,
Sorry, i know its a reach, and I respectfully disagree with you. Anyone who can get blackfolk out to vote, and at least TRY, i can live with. No ones perfect, and what Diddy does and who he does it with behind close doors I doubt has an impact on anyone's political views..Im jus sayin.

That being said, I wander if you share the same views of people who are trying to get people involved, or does this perceived resentment seem to be just for rappers.
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
smoothie I did not mean to disrespect you, but I can't tell you how much disdain I have for NAS and that "Nigger" mess.
  • smoothie · 1 year ago
    Ms. Martin,
I couldnt agree more with you. Whoopi, Nas, J, anyone defending the use of that term to me I honestly think are setting us ALL BACK. I wasnt disrespected, I enjoy healthy debate, and fullly acknowledge that I will not see I to eye with everybody.

My point was , and its by know means perfect, if Nas is out there trying, its something. The worst thing I heard this campaign came from the Identity Thieveing rapper Earl Simmons AKA DMX.

I kid you not, when asked if he planned on voting, and if he knew who Barack Obama was, this is was the result

XXL:Are you following the presidential race?
    DMX : Not at all.

XXL:You’re not? You know there’s a Black guy running, Barack Obama and then there’s Hillary Clinton.

    DMX :His name is Barack?!

    XXL:Barack Obama, yeah.

    DMX :Barack?!

    XXL:Barack.

DMX :What the f-ck is a Barack?! Barack Obama. Where he from, Africa?

XXL:Yeah, his dad is from Kenya.

    DMX :Barack Obama?

    XXL:Yeah.

DMX :What the f-ck?! That ain’t no f-ckin’ name, yo. That ain’t that n-gga’s name. You can’t be serious. Barack Obama. Get the f-ck outta here.

XXL:You’re telling me you haven’t heard about him before.

DMX :I ain’t really paying much attention.

    XXL:I mean, it’s pretty big if a Black…

DMX :Wow, Barack! The n-gga’s name is Barack. Barack? N-gga named Barack Obama. What the f-ck, man?! Is he serious? That ain’t his f-ckin’ name. Ima tell this n-gga when I see him, “Stop that bullsh-t. Stop that bullsh-t” [laughs] “That ain’t your f-ckin’ name.” Your momma ain’t name you no damn Barack.

XXL: So you’re not following the race. You can’t vote right?
    DMX: Nope.
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
I heard about that. DMX is a crack addict - enough said! NAS is not the best representative especially considering the fact that Senator has been called to account for the behavior of every black person.
  • pjamma · 1 year ago

co-sign. While I am all for people trying to help getting out the vote and standing for something of substance, can they at least gain some knowledge for themselves first? While Nas may make a persuasive argument against Fox News, in that clip he is referring to elder civil rights leaders as "Niggas." Really Nas? And then he goes on to say that he, David Banner, and Young Jeezy "got this", I guess "this" = the new civil rights movement. Again I ask, really?
  • msmartin · 1 year ago
