I completely agree. The longer they can perpetuate this myth, there is an increased likelihood that we will fail to achieve some of our common goals such as equal access to quality education, prison reform, closing the wage gap, etc.

I have always maintained that in socioeconomic terms, Latinos are closer to the black community than most realize.

On another note, I'm glad to see some of the other Latino bloggers commenting here. I love this blog and learn so much here.

I like the idea of doing documentaries on every ethnicity. Though maybe what would be best is if every ethnicity has equal access to the media

Because white pundits believe they know more about every ethnicity's community than the ethnics who live there. We African-Americans are always told what we should be thinking and feeling.

Case in point - CNN's "Black In America" series. Now, why couldn't they just do a series of documentaries about what it's like to be a person of ethnicity in America, period? Because they have set a precedent - now they should be developing documentaries about what it's like to be Latino or Asian in America, and Lord, don't get me started about what it's like to be a Native American in America - their land was stolen from them and CNN isn't going to report THAT.

I knew the whole "Latinos won't vote for Obama" was a crock of BS the moment I heard it. I am Latina- how are these White Pundits supposed to know more about my community than me?!?!

Its the same old media pundits trying to find something to talk about so they make up stuff based on rumours and anecdotal evidence. How can they not love Obama? McCain looks like he's about to croak anyway. I'm glad that the claims about the majority of Latinos vowing to never vote for a Black man is turning out to be untrue.

If the GOP would leave McAncient alone, he'd be doing better among Latinos. If he could take his NATURAL position that he has towards Latinos, he'd be doing WAY better.But, to do so would drive the GOP base insane.
