Jack and Jill Politics: Obama Makes Vice-Presidential Move

  • Shaw Kenawe · 1 year ago
NEVER! I can't think of anything more destructive than having a deranged narcissist on the ticket with Senator Obama.

    Dear Darwin, no!

There is so much talent out there.

    We don't need the past.

This automatically will give Barack a month to cool off the Hillary for VP talk. Even a basic high-level vetting starting now would take at least that long. By then Hillary concedes, and her people come to accept him as the nominee.

Should she persist, just reporting on the committee's activities (that's reportable) will make it even clearer that Hill will not be the choice, because of all of the lost time.

NYT is reporting (and MSNBC) that Clinton is suspending her campaign and endorsing Obama on Friday!!!!!!

    I am so relieved.
  • TruthSeeker · 1 year ago
I'm more and more impressed by Obama each day.

It's being reported that Hillary intends to "drop out" by the end of this week. CNN panel Toobin, Borger and Cafferty joked that it might depend on what the meaning of "end of the week" is. They debated whether it would be dropping out of suspending. They seem to think suspension means she can still fundraise to pay the debt.

I think if and when she drops out, it will withdraw energy from her support base. Maybe that will alleviate some of the hostility toward Barack...but right now, she's just feeding the monster.
  • There I Said It · 1 year ago
I'd vote for Caroline. She has no political aspirations whatsoever, but I trust her. I like her. I wish she would eat, but I like her, and I like that photo. Since she's not on the list, though, who would really be good? (and that answer cannot include the Queen of Denial, D-NY.)

Caroline as VP? ...she strikes me as sort of shy and introverted. But, what do I know.
  • Ms.Martin · 1 year ago
    Truth

I would take shy and introverted over that beast any day.
  • Shaw Kenawe · 1 year ago
Yes. Hill will concede on Friday.

4 days late and a her reputation shot.

As well it should be. I am thoroughly sick of everything Clinton.

We're in a new era and its name is OBAMA!
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
Its unfortunate that HRC was incapable of conceding LAST night...you know, the night when Senator Obama rewrote history by winning the democratic nomination. HRC thinks that everything is about her political aspirations...

NEWSFLASH: its not...everything is not about you HRC and unfortunately, you have been deaf to that message as you HAD to concede tonight so the MSM could focus on you, you, you.

A change is gonna come and that change is Barack Obama...the COUNTRY does not need more of the same which is EXACTLY what would happen if HRC and her husband jumped on ship

Hill should endorse tomorrow. Friday is the 40th anniversary of RFK. Low class and inconsiderate but maybe she has a way to spin it that I can't see right now.

Pelosi and Reid told her she BETTER do it by the end of this week or pretty much forget about her career. She did not realize how little support she actually had. She said she would do it by Friday. FINALLY.
    I absolutely detest her!

I think adding Caroline Kennedy to the vetting process was so smart.

For one, she is highly respected and if Clinton is not selected the feminists can't blame it on the "guys."
  • Carol (Aquariusmoon) Duhart · 1 year ago
Caroline Kennedy is someone who can be trusted to make an assessment that is politically astute but not self-serving. She's never run for office and isn't looking for a political position herself, so any assessment is likely to be objective.
She also adds a woman's perspective to vetting and an automatic way of checking how a candidate comes across to women.

The rest of the team are the needed pros for the harder part of the vetting-the legal and the financial part.

There is yet another reason that Obama should not pick Clinton: the reaction of Republican and Independent voters.

People talk a lot about how Democrats will react to Clinton on the ticket. Sure, that's important, but let's also look at how Republicans and Independents would react: (1) quite a few Republicans like Obama; these people would high-tail it out of the room if Clinton were on the ticket. (2) Independents have a big influence on any presidential election, and let's face it, Independents do not like Hillary!

I know I keep going on and on about her, but I can't wait until Barack picks a VP other than her!!!

    Rikyrah,

Hell to the Nawl re: HRC but, please, tell me what's the origin of 'Hillpatine'?
  • heartsandflowers · 1 year ago
The Obama camp has stated Hillpatine will not be considered for VP! YES!!! I wrote a nice long letter to Donna Brazile urging her to let the Obama camp how many of his supporters he'd alienate if he chose the evil tormentor.
  • RhondaCoca · 1 year ago
Jimmy Carter said that picking Hillary would be the worst decision he can make.
  • The Christian Progressive Libe · 1 year ago
I do like the idea of Caroline Kennedy on the ticket.

Count me in the "anybody but Hillpatine" crowd...

    Hillpatine:

The Star Wars Reference from Wikipedia:

Palpatine is a fictional character in George Lucas' science fiction saga Star Wars. The character, portrayed by actor Ian McDiarmid in the feature films, is the main antagonist of the saga; introduced in the original trilogy as the Emperor of the Galactic Empire, an aged, cowled and pale-faced figure, who rises to power in the prequel trilogy through deception and treachery as a peaceful, democratic middle-aged politician of the Republic, while in reality, is Darth Sidious, a Dark Lord of the Sith who initiates and manipulates the Clone Wars to destroy the Jedi and usher in the totalitarian Galactic Empire. His Sith apprentices include Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus, and Darth Vader.

Briefly mentioned by Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), George Lucas' original scripts of Star Wars characterize the Emperor, initially named Cos Dashit, as a cunning but weak politician under the control of powerful bureaucrats. However, in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, the prequels, and Star Wars literature, the character is depicted as the personification of evil and heavy-handed authoritarianism. Palpatine was incorporated into the Star Wars merchandising campaigns that corresponded with the theatrical release of Return of the Jedi and the prequel films. The character has since become a symbol of evil and sinister deception in popular culture, particularly in the United States.

Don't forget Lord Duku! That's a reference to Star Wars, not VP.

    @rikyrah

I don't understand Hillary; first she says she wants it, then she says she don't, then her staff says to offer it so she can turn it down.

TURN IT DOWN??? What's the point of asking, then?

    agentx,
