Jack and Jill Politics: Oh Hell No.

One last cry out before the succession.

The conversatives and those "real Americans" are screaming with pains of change - they'll get used to it.

Honestly, I don't know how in the world they could have gotten away with holding America as their own for this long.
  • Ms.Martin · 1 year ago
Also, if you check their bloodlines, you'll find their not as "American" as they claim to be.

Our race did not become to be as diverse as it is without the help of them.

What an incredibly creepy diatribe by Parker. That kind of obsession with "blood," "bloodlines," and "full-bloodedness" is nothing if not central to the fascist imagination.
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
Parker forgets that Native Americans were here first and definitely sacrificed. Full blooded Americans is such dangerous terminology when she is really using coding to say "Us white people." What happens if conservative media starts using that phrasing too? Desmond Tutu is right, our rights are just an illusion.

..and "blood equity" WTF?? She's got a definite Nazi feel to her.

Reading that article, I am reminded of this:

    http://halfricanrevolution.blogspot.com/2008/05/buchanan-helps-me-prove-my-point.html

Not that I assumed Kathleen Parker to be "cool with black people", or that I have read every article of hers, but I was shocked to see this level of xenophobia. Maybe I'm just naive. As "Anon" pointed out, the only ones of us who can claim to be "full blooded" are Native Americans, a point which I made in the email I just sent to Ms. Parker.

If you didn't link these articles I wouldn't even know who these writers were. I'm not sure the quality of my life has improved one iota after skimming through that piece of trash written by Parker. I find it interesting that the audience she panders to ignores her inflammatory premises to happily agree with her, though some try to offer a balanced critique. I wonder how willing people are to really examine themselves and be open-minded. Someone like Parker just appeals to the lowest-common denominator. I'd like to think we are better than that.

Why didn't she just write "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer!!"
  • TruthSeeker · 1 year ago
As if geographic location has anything to do with blood. Humans migrate, they always have. Native Americans also migrated; but if you want to rank people by who got here first, then Native Americans are more American than all the rest and Kathleen is the interloper. This is stupid.

I sent her two emails calling her out on her shit.

And then I instructed her to write another steaming pile of cow dung that I can use as compost on my garden next spring.

    She's a stone-cold fascist.

I hope the nuts can't read.

"No one loves this country more than we love this country, because we loved this country even when it didn't love us."
Wow that is really profound. Its so true. Love is sticking with something even when it hurts you and doesn't want you. That doesn't mean people can't ask for the hurting to stop. Maybe those who don't complain don't understand the first thing about oppression or history's effects on Black people. Great post.

    Scared White
    Steven Weber, 05.16.2008

Obama's opponents can't impugn his smarts or his ability to lead so they must -- must -- play to the basest card: race fear. It is all they have.

i loved the video of hillary as hitler in his bunker as the ruskis stormed berlin. i got the real movie "downfall" on netflix. now there have been a lot of movies about nazi germany it is true, but this one is powerful and i just saw it. my wife was out with a friend when i watched it. she came home just in time to see frau goebbels forcefeeding cyanide to her children. my wife was really disturbed and it was in fact disturbing. i felt terrible. you would think people would want to stay far away from terms like "full blooded americans".
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
I've said it before and I'll say it again, and I don't give a crap who disagrees with me.

The TRUEST Americans are Black folk for we are the ONLY ones who FOUGHT FOR this country.

We are the ONLY ones who have consistently FOUGHT FOR America to live up to its promise.

    I stand by that.

ideally, everybody who has citizenship is a true american in equal measure. even the rednecks who drive huge eight wheel pickups with dixie flag and support the troops stickers.

    Preach, dNA, Preach.

And the bigots only kept out the brothas from fighting in wars until too many of them started coming home in body bags, and as usual, Black people are always considered expendible.

    My grandfathers fought in WWI.

My father fought in WWII and Korea.

Both my older brothers fought in Vietnam.

So send Ms. Parker to me to get that history lesson she so badly needs because I can guarantee more men of color bled for this bastard we call America than the white bretheren she praises.

i remember when i was growing up in a small town in northern oklahoma, a town where the railroad station still had a "colored" waiting room and the drinking fountains in front of city hall were separated for whites, "colored" and dogs (really).

there was an obsession in that little town with proving ones roots back to the mayflower, with being a member of the DAR (daughters of the american revolution), all of that rah rah bullshit that seems to consume people from even the very northeastern tip of the south and, again, eastern seaboard.

i am 3d generation in this country, my people got here in 1893, run out of russia by the same violent assholes who originally lured them there.

could i ever fit into this country? never. i don't have the "blood" for it. and maybe that sense of being an outsider in that heritage-obsessed snotty little town gave me an itch to shoot holes in this kind of stupidity.

that this kind of racist tripe could be published in the year 2008 is absolutely unbelievable. what the fuck are we coming to in this country?
