Jack and Jill Politics: Open Thread: Ann Coulter and Other Republicans Compare Obama to Hitler

  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
When I saw this in the sidebar at OpenLeft, I went WTF?

I was like, you gotta be kidding me.

I mean, you REALLY gotta be kidding me.

Well, calling him a Muslim hasn't worked.

Then calling him a cult leader hasn't worked.

Then calling him a Modern Day Black Power Extremist hasn't worked.

    I just....just.....

    A Black Hitler.

    Are there words?

Is that heifer trying to compare Dreams of My Father and The Audacity of Hope to MEIN KAMPF?

    IS THAT WHAT SHE'S SAYING?

Well, they sho'z trying to scare the White folks now.
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
You know, I think they've lost their collective minds over the Jeremiah Wright thing. They TRULY thought that was going to sink him. They were betting on it.

Not only that, but the fightback on Wright...the dropping of his ENTIRE speeches...the getting out Wrights ENTIRE record....

The pics of him with Bill and Hill IN THE WHITE HOUSE.....

Then, they were going to attack using James Meeks, but something happened...

Showing Meeks going off like that only validated what Black defenders of Wright had been saying about the Black Preaching STYLE and its use of HYPERBOLE.

Plus, quiet as it's kept, I believe more than a few evangelicals called up and said..

Uh huh....you're going down a religious persecution path.

None of the old time bigwigs, but I do believe these new fangled evangelicals were whispering to them.

And, the number of White clergy who blew back publically in defense of Wright....

Well, they thought Wright would sink Obama.

    When that didn't happen.

    When he gave his speech.

    Stopped the bleeding.

Then they were sucker punched by Dr. Rice's remarks on race....

Uh oh...folks are actually taking his challenge about race SERIOUSLY....

    can't have that.

And add into it that latest CBS Poll that asked

WHICH CANDIDATE EXPRESSES MORE CLOSELY THE VALUES OF AMERICA

and Obama gets the HIGHEST score at 70%?

    They're going insane.

They have to figure out new ways to point out that he's a the SCARY BLACK BOGEY MAN.

I said before, the ONLY thing they had on him was that he was BLACK.

And, they're going to keep on trying until they get the ' He's the scary Black man' to stick.
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
Yes, insane & on the record.

You must know that this skank is just an entertainer and no one but a moron ( in the literal sense of the word) could take her seriously.

Ann Coulter is a confirmed Hillary supporter (and I'm suspect about Rush Limbaugh's ludicrous Operation Chaos' true intent as well).

Mike Huckabee would not approve of something like this.

This may not be about Republicans or rightwingers, even though it looks like it on the surface.
  • Felicia · 1 year ago
After Coulter called the 9/11 widows harpies, nothing she says is shocking to me anymore.

Coulter's a freak show performer. Like watching the glass eater, we're horrifid at what we're seeing, but we're also amused.

This video clip from Media Matters is interesting, but it's not news worthy. Nobody--not even Sean Hannity--takes Coulter seriously.
  • ann · 1 year ago
There is widespread misunderstanding here. Republicans would rather see Obama run against McCain than see Hillary against McCain.

Hillary would lose to McCain. But Obama would lose as if he were running against George Washington himself.

Why? All the reasons that have been mentioned here. Whether you care to admit it or not, he is sympathetic to muslims and Islam. That's bad these days. But there's nothing he can do about it.

It is a fact that among muslims, if you are the child of a muslim father, you are a muslim at birth. Of course a person can embrace a new religion, as he seems to have done.

But has he really? Reverend Wright is more of a disciple of Louis Farrakhan than a follower of Christianity. Thus, Wright is a key link between Obama and Islam, even the perverted form practiced by Farrakhan and the NOI.

Then there are those facts about the contents of Obama's books. Coulter mentioned important points. Obama showed a high level of defensiveness and excessive sensitivity to almost meaningless actions by whites.

However, the deal-killer is already in place. If nominated he hasn't got a chance in the general election because he's already set a trap for himself.

He stated he wants an increase in the Capital Gains Tax Rate. Capital Gains are seen as a very white thing. Rich whites are the ones who receive most of the Capital Gains income in this country.

If Obama is nominated, it will take almost no time at all before raising Capital Gains taxes is seen as his stealth move to fund Reparations.

Critics will call the capital gains tax increase the Reparations Tax. When white voters get the idea that electing Obama is likely to open the door to Reparations -- a huge transfer of wealth from whites to blacks - they will vote twice for McCain wherever possible.

Obama is likely to lose in the biggest landslide in American history.

Are we sure that Ann Coulter isn't suffering from Tourettes?
She says these things for attention and to speak to her legion of idiots who would rather let her do their thinking for them.

I laugh at all the news producers and media conglomerates who continue to give her airtime.

Ann Coulter needs three things, a man, a shrink and Jesus, the rage and hatred she has is a sign that she really isn't playing with a full deck.
  • Villager · 1 year ago
My first time hearing about these comments from Ann Coulter. She truly is a sick human being. I've noticed that she and Pat Buchanan are not appearing very much on cable television any longer. Maybe most of the MSM understands the racial sickness that they each have been preaching is unacceptable in 2008...

Stop trying to make McCain a racist.

“As only Mother Teresa can do," McCain continued, "she prevailed upon me to take this baby and another baby –- get them out of the country and take them to the United States for medical care.” On the flight from Bangkok to Los Angeles, McCain said she realized, “I couldn’t give this child up.... She had chosen me. That’s just as simple as it was.”

“Well, the kick in this was I hadn’t told my husband,” Cindy said, as the Aiken crowd chuckled appreciatively. “So when I stepped off the plane in Arizona, I was holding her, and John met me at the airport, and, of course, there were a lot of cameras there.... And he whispered down to me and said, 'Well, where’s she going to go?'

“I looked up at him and sort of thought ‘Well, our house – how about that?’ And that’s simply the way I introduced him to his new daughter. He has loved her the same way I have for 16 years,” Cindy McCain said."

    yea. she sound fuckin crazy.

    crazy
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
    Angela,

Why are you posting this nonsense? You are protesting too much which only means that YOU are racist. Adopting a non-white child does NOT make someone non-racist, but they are often self-righteous (see Angelina Jolie and Madonna).
  • Angela · 1 year ago
I am not a racist. I was only trying to be cautious about inferring that John McCain is. I am a Native American and know all about being prejudiced against first hand. I also have so many mixed ethnic nieces and nephews we could probably make up a unique global flag to represent our total family origins.
  • ann · 1 year ago
As I said, if nominated, Obama is likely to lose in the biggest landslide in US history because he is tied to Reverend Wright, to Islam and to the budding concept of Reparations imposed on whites by his plan to increase Capital Gains taxes.

Craig Hickman and Justice58 found these points to be laughable. Why?

Aside from the fact that Obama has far too little experience -- which by itself is sufficient for a loss in November -- what strategies will get him past the doubts of the majority of voters?

Those who vote in Democratic primaries add up to LESS THAN HALF of the voters who will go to the polls in November.

What will Obama do to overcome the belief that he is the candidate who will support Reparations legislation?
  • Lolo · 1 year ago
Coulter is not crazy. That would completely miss the real sickness that drivers her, which is the fact that she is a cynical and calcultaing whore who makes statements for no other reason than to ensure she receives publicity and air time so that she can continue to make money peddling her shit. I resent the hell out of the fact that she is given time and space by the media.

Honestly, while her and ilk do have more than a few fans, I see evidence that more people are just plain tired of them. We've got some serious work to do and the issues aren't going to be ignored away by focusing on our divisions. Now, whether it's fear or hope that drives the voters to the polls this November remains to be shaped and seen.

I, for one, have little problem with Obama's inexperience in fighting and swimming the shitsoup that has become our politicas as usual. It's a strength, as far as I and many others are concernec.

As to him having to overcome the belief that he will offer Reparations Legislation ....hahahahahahahahahahaha, I'll just make sure to wear my tinfoil hat and whistle Dixie if I hear that one straight out of anyone's mouth.

The next time someone tells me that they're voting for him because he's black I'm going to say "pssst! You know his momma was white?? That he was raised by white people? Do you know what that means?? He's going to uplift the downtrodden white people to their rightful place in this country!!"

Oh man, the level of surrealism in this race continues to rise like waters after Katrina.
  • ann · 1 year ago
lolo, you might think surrealism has taken over. Since reality is a matter of each person's perception, you should remind yourself that voters will carry their perceptions into the booth and pull the lever.

Obama is not a muslim. But he is factually and incontestably linked to Islam. By his father, his name and his association with Rev Wright who thinks the world of Louis Farrakhan.

You, as you said, might have no problem with his inexperience. But you are one person. Many many millions of voters disagree with you.

His wife said she felt her first moment of pride in her country when her husband found widespread support for his candidacy. Her comments will cost him dearly in the general election. He will be seen as someone who shares her views. Worse for him is the fact that voters will refuse to elect a candidate whose wife has such a low opinion of the country.

And my favorite. Reparations. Obama wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax Rate. Capital Gains are seen as a distinctly white form of earnings. Whites collect capital gains. Wealthy whites. Possibly the wealthy whites whose forebears owned plantations or in other ways prospered from slavery.

Hence, to increase the capital gains tax rate is to increase taxes on the people seen as the beneficiaries of the ill-gotten gains of slavery.

Obama's capital gains tax increase will be seen as the Reparatioins Tax. If nominated, he will be linked to the idea of Reparations. Surreal, perhaps. But inevitable. Wear your tin-foil hat if you want. But there is a movement aimed at obtaining Reparations. That group will seek and receive press attention if Obama is nominated.

If nominated, Obama will be painted as the candidate out to extract as much wealth as possible from whites for the benefit of blacks. It will end in a landslide loss for him.

    @ ann

ann, you're full of crap. Not only are you full of crap, but you're probably a 300 lb, hostile, neo nazi, republican male sitting in your basement channeling Goering.

Nothing you said is factually correct. Nothing you said is even close to being factually correct. Nothing you said is remotely interesting; however, you thing using words like "factually" lends credence to your shit frosted ,garbage cake.

Now, I know that you think you can foresee the future in addition to being a channeler; well, I am psychic too and will give you a free reading:

Barack will be nominated. Barack will win the general election. Barack will kick McCain's behind. Barack will go down in history as one of the best Presidents. You will be sitting in your basement in your soiled undershorts watching it all happen. While observing this, you will scratch your ass and wonder why your life sucks.

    Alright there Truthseeker,

    Say it!

    Go Obama 08!
  • ann · 1 year ago
    truthseeker,

As I've said, perception is reality. I guess you missed that part of my comment. However I did say it is a FACT that Obama is linked to Islam, because his father was a muslim and therefore, despite your protest, he's linked.

Meanwhile, I'm merely making a prediction about what's ahead. Shortly before the Democratic primaries began, NOBODY predicted Obama would would be where he is today. NOBODY.

Meanwhile, NOBODY predicted Hillary would be where she is today. The unchallenged word around town was that Hillary had the nomination locked up. Whoops.

On the other hand, you raised the issue of neo-nazi 300-pounders. I'm not among them. but they exist, as do many many millions of Republican voters.

To fill you in, I'm 5'11" and 182 lbs. I live in Flatbush, Brooklyn, probably the most diverse place in the country.

Meanwhile, I assume your post was merely your shot at flinging some invective my way. But if you really believe what you wrote, you will be disappointed, possibly soon, or at the latest, in November.

America will elect a black candidate to the presidency. But not this one. He hasn't got the right stuff.
  • Phoebe · 1 year ago
Yeah yeah, "I'm not a racist but everyone else is, so Obama can't win".

I read the book. And I know, because of that book, that Obama isn't a racist. Or a muslim. This will get fine-tooth-combed for the general election, and the truth will out.

I believe this because I am a typical white person, and I know a lot of typical white people, including Republicans. None of them don't love that book.
  • TruthSeeker · 1 year ago
    @ ann

I'm not buying any of that nonsense. I know exactly what you're doing. You blur the edges of the truth just enough hoping to create the slightest doubt.

First of all, there is no proof that anything you said about your location, height, weight is true. You say you live in a diverse community to create the false impression that you - by extension - are also "diverse". The rest of your post is wishful thinking/misinformation. If you know Barack will lose, that should be comfort enough; yet, you make the effort to return here time and again to convince people who support him.

It's not working, 600lb, neo nazi, male Republican shut-in! You're going to have to be a lot more skilled to control the mind of anyone here. Your candidate McCain will lose ..that's if he doesn't keel over dead first.
  • ann · 1 year ago
truthseeker, it is true that as someone posting on the Internet, I can claim to be from Mars. Credibility is always an issue with Internet postings. Hence, it does not matter to me what you believe about me.

Anyway, if you feel better thinking I have gained another 300 pounds and now weigh 600 pounds, which probably means I would not fit through a door frame, that's okay by me. But, in fact, my jeans have a 34-inch waist which fits just fine. No belly to bulge over.

If you want to think I live in a white supremacist compound in Montana, that's okay too. I love Montana, but I do live in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Montana, by the way, seems to have Obama fever too.

As for controlling the minds of people, well, I gather that's something you dream of. Mind control. Wild. You said it wasn't possible to control the minds of people here. Does that mean you believe it's possible to control the minds of people elsewhere? It seems your answer is "yes."

Anyway, like I said, the way politics works is simple. The opposition keeps flinging spaghetti at the wall until something sticks. Usually a candidate creates his own problems.

Like Hillary, who is compelled to lie about her exploits around the world over the last decade. She'd hoped Americans were too lazy to fact-check her claims. Too bad for her that she was wrong.

This presidential election will be the first YouTube election. The Knnedy/Nixon race of 1960 is thought of as the first televised election. Historians believe TV changed the outcome.

This year YouTube is likely to have the same effect. The rantings of Reverend Wright have been seen by millions, rather than only his congregation. Americans will have unlimited access to video of Obama and Wright. Of Obama positioning his children to receive their spiritual indoctrination from a man who hates America. A man who reveres Louis Farrakhan. That's bad news for Obama.

Then, as I mentioned, Obama's plan for increasing Capital Gains taxes will become transformed into a debate on Reparations. He will have no escape from white voters thinking he will impose a huge transfer of wealth from whites to blacks. That's politics. Perception is reality.

However, you raised one wild-card issue that cannot be ignored. McCain is 71. It is possible for him to drop dead before election day.

The odds are against that happening. But it is far more likely McCain would drop dead than Obama.
