Jack and Jill Politics: Rasmussen Calls the Democratic Race for Obama

  • Ronnie B · 1 year ago
With this in mind, Rasmussen Reports will soon end our daily tracking of the Democratic race and focus exclusively on the general election competition between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.

And that's that way it's done!! And the mainstream media needs to get with the same program. There's a reason that they don't discuss Ron Paul or Mike Gravel; they're irrelevant now.

And with the Clintons now dredging swamps for the white-bigot-vote, they've shown how irrelevant they are.

    ronnie b,

no less than the Wall Street Journal had as its headline yesterday:

Democrats Look to Life After Clinton
  • TruthSeeker · 1 year ago
    Ronnie b,

"Dredging swamps for the white-bigot-vote.." HA!

All the drama and the surrogate appearances yesterday was to create the impression that Hillary is still a contender. Trying to distract attention from Obama but Eight Belles is still a "close second".

Hillary just doesn't know when to yield. Her presidency would be a nightmare! She'd be there trying to convince you red is black and up is really down. Can you imagine?
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
rasmussen is stating the obvious, and it's good to see that.

it is now just the right time for obama to let go of clinton and concentrate on mccain. he is not only the winner of the dems primary contest, but throught that contest he has also attained so much protagonism that he is now far better known than mccain. he is, in fact, more popular than the republican.

thank you hillary! you can go now.
  • smoothie · 1 year ago
Ive considered this over since Barack pulled off 11 in a row.

At that time the math just simply didnt add up. I think Rasmussen is simply doing what the Superdelegates NEED TO BE DOING.

And I wanna take it another step further. Barack is the nominee. Most everyone knows this. With that said, I think the narrative the media should start pushing is whos the person to tell "The Clintons" its time to quit, and not this tired narrative of why is it she's still in. I dont blame her for staying, I blame the Supers for allowing her to stay.

Rachel Maddow posed this question on KO. Where's the flood of SD's who can end this?

It should be like Moses standing by the Red Sea at this point, yet we have to wait.

I no longer have any use for Jonathan Capehart and John Ridley. Not that I ever did, but I just want to say it aloud.

no use for...paul krugman...directly insulted by hillary this week as she dismissed economists in masse as elitists, paul krugman writes another screed bemoaning obama and his supporters and their foolhardiness. does anyone know what is going on with this guy who i once read so avidly. ...my mom says his wife is black...not sure if that is true but thought it might play some role in his strange take on the clinton/ obama battle

thank god to be free of the friggin tracking polls. they were driving me crazy

    Rikyrah, Jack, DNA, CPL

Would someone please post Stephanie Tubbs-Jones interview with Andrea Mitchell today defending HRC on the "hard working Americans, white Americans statement.

It was unbelievable, she even said Obama was playing the race card when Obama said let's make history. She said he was speaking to black Americans.
  • andyfrombrooklyn · 1 year ago
everybody should watch "the bunker" video on andrewsullivan's blog. it is the funniest thing since the doctored sniper fire video. hillarious! lots of profanity but good, good stuff. a must for all hillary haters.
  • Anonymous · 1 year ago
    Ms Martin,

I haven't seen it but that is unbelievable considering Andrea Mitchell( a Clinton suppoter) said she could NOT believe Clinton said that and she did not think it was right!

    Against Race Politics
  • Craig Hickman · 1 year ago
truthseeker, they were both defending I got the white votes remarks. Ridley even compared it to the bitter remarks just to keep that out there. He said it several times. Boykin triangulated a bit, but he could've been firmer as well.

In short, none of them see or are willing to admit to the race baiting.

Ironically, the only talking heads that are calling it what it is are white.

I find that fascinating at this stage of the game.

Perhaps that's exactly the way it will have the most positive impact on those who need to hear it.

no longer have any use for Jonathan Capehart and John Ridley. Not that I ever did, but I just want to say it aloud.

    That's all.

    craig,

what did Mr. Pansy Horn-Rimmed Glasses say today?

And, as for Ridley, I'll say this..

It's patently absurd to not have one, but TWO Toms on Morning Joe. Blech. Between Tiki and Ridley, I just can't take it.
  • Craig Hickman · 1 year ago
Tiki was actually pushing he issue. When Ridley didn't "get it" Tiki gave him the nastiness look I've seen from him.
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
    craig,

I told you, Capeheart plucks my last Black nerve everytime I see him.

And the truth of the matter is, written by one of Andrew Sullivan's readers no less - the main reason they're on tv is because the tv producers realized that it was whacked, having ALL WHITE PANELS discussing a Black candidate for President. The reader was like, ' where do they think they'll be if Obama loses?'

I was like, tell me about it.
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
    Ms. Martin,

I read on another blog that Tubbs-Jones was once again doing her best Mammy Sambo interpretation.

I don't know how to do video, but I will send the request on.

I will search for the transcript.

At this point, I'm willing to search and find graduate video students to cut some commercials for a primary challenger to Mammy Tubbs-Jones.
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
    andyfrombrooklyn,

that crap Krugman is writing...well, makes me think about what kind of Black woman his wife is...I know, if it was me...his ass would be sleeping on the couch, if not out the house, with the BS he's been writing.

Bill Clinton got into a words fight with a voter. The woman said she remembered that Hillary worked hard on a Health Care initiative before his administration prior to getting their votes and as soon as she stepped into the White House she did not deliver on the promise. lol Bill almost passed out. lol

    + network

    + time aired

+ specific phrase said or guests.

so far i have the last piece but not enough to narrow it down.

    thanks

    Hey Jack,

Stephanie was on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell. It was during 12-1pm central time!

Stephanie Tubb Jones was defending Hillary & saying Hillary was only "quoting" from an article written in USA Today! And Obama's the one who has been playing the race card.

She was very defensive! Talk about being blind! Gaah!
  • Webb · 1 year ago
As much as we disdain HHH Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, did anybody see Carole Simpson on Larry King tonight?

Carole Simpson done really sold her soul to the devil! I'm paraphrasing, and essentially her statement was, "A BLACK MAN CAN'T WIN. HILLARY CAN WIN." Even Hillary-Lovin Lanny Davis couldn't swallow dat shyt. He defended Barack's electability.

    Dear JJP Community,

In the past, I have endorsed a possible Obama-Clinton Ticket...I hereby WITHDRAW that suggestion in light of dayum stupidity on the part of the clintons in the aftermath of NC/Indiana results. They continue to resort to tactics that leave even Edward Kennedy takin a shyt on them (the clintons). They no longer deserve to be heard, they deserve to be politically BURIED.
  • justice58 · 1 year ago
God yes, I heard it but couldn't believe my f-ing ears!

Carole Simpson has gone off the deep end! Ain't that a b%t%h!
  • rikyrah · 1 year ago
Well, I'm glad I didn't watch that. But Simpson has been far gone this entire election cycle.

As a avid reader of this blog (and a WASP - white anglo-saxon Protestant), and a "older" female (58), AND a Obamacan - thank heavens it's almost over... but the devil is in the details - Hillary is VERY capable of trying to torpedo Barack... wound him so badly that McCain will win and she will have another shot at 2012.... As a "former" life long Republican, the ONLY thing that would stop me for voting for Barack is if some idiot talks him into putting her on the ticket... goodbye Bill and Hill - you have stayed way too long at the party.. what many Democrats don't get is the the Clintons were the BEST thing that EVER happens to the Republican Party.. think back, it was Bill and his frat party-like first two years in office that resulted in the GOP taking over the House [for the first time in 40 years], increasing Governors, etc, literally, the Clinton 8 years were banner years for Republicans... But as the slogan goes, it's time for a change! Barack in the WH, Bill shown for what all of us Republicans were always saying - a liar and a cheat in all aspects, and Hillary sent back to NY knowing that the Democratic Party does not belong to her.... Having Hillary lose, Bill disgraced, and Barack as the next President of the US - my heart is very happy!
