    Wow! That was amazing. That idiot sputtering reporter could not keep up with the slap of reality. "Rev. Wright preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ". Amen!!!

    I saw that interview on Fox and I had to applaud him. The way he ended it by talking about why they killed MLK tied the interviewer's tongue.

    I'm glad you posted this. I saw a link to this clip on The Field Negro's sidebar and I've been all over google trying to figure out who this man is.


    I really do love seeing a White person who Gets It. And a Faux News slapdown is always good for a smile.

    That reporter was none other than the producer of the O'Reilly Factor, trying to get a soundbite for their story on whether the Catholic church should reprimand Father Pfleger for his defense of Reverend Wright(!). He was obviously not prepared for Father Pfleger to be so much more intelligent and informed and reasoned than himself.

    i fucking hate the way the fucking bigots on FOX news think they have a greater knowledge or affinity for Dr. King than actual progressive clergypeople.
    what the fuck.

    also: black liberation theology... what's the problem??? do they get the idea of minority oppression at all?!? do they understand race and culture?!?!? why don't they cast that "critical eye" on other (white) minorities?

    i am a jewish man, and i don't see FOX banging down my door, hating on me for having a sense of identity and a sense of cultural community.

    it's passover right now, and i think everyone should check out the freedom seder of the 60s and of today, first held on the 1st anniversary of dr. king's death. that spring, dr. king was supposed to have a seder with my own spiritual hero rabbi abraham joshua heschel. they were good friends. also, check out "exodus and liberation" by michael walzer, on a good vision of liberation theology.

    shut the fuck up, FOX. you think having sen. obama's "honest discussion of race" means asking why you cannot say the word "nigger" without people getting upset. shut the fuck up.

    that was just excellent. it reminds me of how weary i am of being talked down to by politicians and religious people and all of the "grown ups" in this country.


    this man speaks the truth and points out the idiocy of those who seek to spread lies.



    he's just like obama. obama speaks the truth and he treats us like adults. how utterly refreshing.

    Wow, Rev Pfleger is unflappable. The reporter was clearly trying to get under skin with such idiotic and accusatory questions and just couldn't do it. What a great spokesperson for social justice!

    Tell it!! I literally Screamed at the video. I felt like Ms Sophia I was so amped. Father P, was on the money! Oh, how I detest uninformed people evoking Rev. Dr. King's name in vain. He was a preacher that spoke truth to power, JUST like Rev Dr. Wright. And as I discovered in an article linked on jjp, 75% of the infamous Wright sermon was literally bitten from Dr. King. How ironic?
    I feel so much better now. Thank goodness for jjp!!

    This Reverend is right on with regards to Jesus; much of what he said was considered scandalous and shocking in his time.


    Another point, somewhat off topic: why does the media obsess whether Obama could win the white working class vote in a general election, yet they never worry about whether Hillary could win the black vote, or the vote of those with college educations, or those in college?

    Regardless of the content of the interview Father Pfleger is a brilliant arguer.


    On top of that, Father Pfleger's thoughts and opinions are so intelligent and are such a good "defense" of Rev. Wright, as if that was necessary.



    I thought the example of a church service being a family gathering was great along with the Jesse Ventura analogy.



    Contrary to popular belief there are many if not most Catholic priests on the same page as Father Pfleger.

    I'd thought from the voice, the flummoxed style, and the clumsy lack of skill at O'Rielly-esque debate techniques that the reporter was a rookie or an intern, although looking at the starting frame again, I guess he's older than that. Heh.

    Go Father Mike! There is a reason this guy is so loved in the community. He did a great job defending Dr. Wright. I loved what he said about Jesus. I myself think a lot of the people today who claim to be Christians, if they met the real Jesus, they would have been among the first to yell "Crucify him!"


    and I am like Kenya, I am SO sick of how Rev. Dr. ML King has been caricatured and put into a little box, by people who know nothing about him but a few lines - -it is almost as narrow a box as the one they've got for Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright. Really they are both very complex men with a lot in common.



    that Faux crew seemed as lame as a middle school media class on their first project. they really are the rejects of television
