I shouldn't be, but I am.
She just don't GAF now, does she?
Wow.
Talk about Hubris.
Daily KOs as a great story on how Obama campaign has out organized Clinton's. THIS is why I get so pissed when HRC supporters say Obama stole the nomination. He and his peeps (me inlcuded cuz lawd knows I called damn near every state and talked to a lot of people, handed out pamphlets to Christians on Sunday and the whole 9 yards...) worked hard for this nomination. We did not come when you were sleeping Hillary. We worked hard. We worked smart. And we worked honorably.
Can't wait for this election to be over so I can convert back to my independent status.

Clinton Supporters Plan To 'Swarm' DNC Meeting
“............The next Democratic donnybrook will be in a Washington ballroom.
Busloads of Hillary Clinton supporters will swarm a meeting next week at a D.C. Marriott, where Democratic Party elders hope to forge a compromise over Florida and Michigan's now-voided convention delegates.
"We really don't know what to expect, but we do know that the Clinton people are very organized," said a senior Democratic National Committee source................”
If I lived anywhere near D.C I would go, however I am on the other side of the US. I will be glued to my TV and commenting away to anyone who will listen/read.

Comment:
“The thoughts had already been going through my mind about the increased risk to Obama's life if Hillary was the VP.
Why did she say it? She is an intelligent calculated person.
Scary skeletons in Clinton's closet. The Clintons have powerful connections. No charges are being made:
James McDougal - Clinton 's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation.
2 -Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown . The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.
3- Vince Foster - Former White House counselor and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock 's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.
4- Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller committed suicide.
5- C. Victor Raiser II- Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fund raising organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992
6-Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock , September 1992. Described by Clinton as a "Dear friend and trusted advisor".
7-Ed Willey - Clinton fund raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.
8-Jerry Parks -Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock . Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock . Park's son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton . He allegedly threatened to
9-James Bunch - Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a "Black Book" of people which contained names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas
10-James Wilson - Was found dead in May 1993 from an apparent hanging suicide. He was reported to have ties to Whitewater.
11-Kathy Ferguson- Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.
12-Bill Shelton - Arkansas State Trooper and fiance of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiance, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiance.
13-Gandy Baugh - Attorney for Clinton 's friend Dan Lassater, died by jumping out a window of a tall building January, 1994. His client was a convicted drug distributor.
14-Florence Martin - Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds.
15- Suzanne Coleman - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death.
16-Paula Grober - Clinton 's speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9, 1992 . She died in a one car accident.
17-Danny Casolaro - Investigative reporter. Investigating Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation
18- Paul Wilcher - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 "October Surprise" was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993 in his Washington DC apartment. Had delivered a report to Janet Reno 3 weeks before his death.
19-Jon Parnell Walker - Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Corp. Jumped to his death from his Arlington , Virginia apartment balcony August 15, 1993 . He was investigating the Morgan Guaranty scandal.
20-Barbara Wise - Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29,
21-Charles Meissner -Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash.
22-Dr. Stanley Heard - Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton 's advisory council personally treated Clinton 's mother, stepfather and brother.
23-Barry Seal -Drug running pilot out of Mena Arkansas , death was no accident.
24-Johnny Lawhorn Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole.
25-Stanley Huggins - Investigated Madison Guaranty. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never released.
26- Hershell Friday - Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded.
27-Kevin Ives & Don Henry - Known as "The boys on the track" case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. A controversial case, the initial report of death said, due to falling asleep on railroad tracks. Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.”

Hillary Clinton's colossal blunder simply the last straw

SICK. Disgusting. And yet revealing. Hillary Clinton is staying in the race in the event some nut kills Barack Obama.
It could happen, but what definitely has happened is that Clinton has killed her own chances of being vice president. She doesn't deserve to be elected dog catcher anywhere now.
Her shocking comment to a South Dakota newspaper might qualify as the dumbest thing ever said in American politics.
Her lame explanation that she brought up the 1968 assassination of Robert Kennedy because his brother Ted's illness was on her mind doesn't cut it. Not even close.
We have seen an X-ray of a very dark soul. One consumed by raw ambition to where the possible assassination of an opponent is something to ponder in a strategic way. Otherwise, why is murder on her mind?
It's like Tanya Harding's kneecapping has come to politics. Only the senator from New York has more lethal fantasies than that nutty skater.
We could have seen it coming, if only we had realized Clinton's thinking could be so cold. She has grown increasingly wild in her imagery lately, invoking everything from slavery to the political killings in Zimbabwe in making her argument for the Florida and Michigan delegations. She claimed to be the victim of sexism, despite winning the votes of white men.
But none of it was moving the nomination needle, with Obama, despite recent dents, still on course to be the victor.
So she kept digging deeper, looking for the magic button. Instead, she pushed the eject button, lifting herself right out of consideration.
Giving voice to such a vile thought is all the more horrible because fears Obama would be killed have been an undercurrent to his astonishing rise. Republican Mike Huckabee made a stupid joke about it recently. Many black Americans have talked of it, reflecting their assumption that racists would never tolerate a black President and that Obama would be taken from them.
Clinton has now fed that fear. She needs a very long vacation. And we need one from her.
Say good night, Hillary. And go away.
Demand To DNC: Kick Hillary Out NOW !
Insinuates That Obama Could Be ASSASSINATED !
Now, things have gone way too far. Yesterday, in an appearance in South Dakota, Hillary Clinton justified her reason for staying in the campaign by referring to the fact that presidential hopeful 'Robert Kennedy was assasinated in June'...implying that the same could occur to senator Obama. THIS IS SICK !!! Regardless of how the pundits try to spin this as just another misspeak, the statement speaks for itself and displays the diobolical mentality of Hillary Clinton.
It is unclear as to whether she is actually hoping that Obama would be killed, therefore giving her an open path to the Democratic nomination, or if she may be signaling her desire to some sick, warp minded homicidal maniac. Whichever be the case, her statement is automatic grounds for the Democratic National Committee headed by Howard Dean to demand that she remove herself from the race. If he does not, American Democrats should demand HIS stepping down !
This can not be tolerated. ANYONE who would wish the death of another human being in order to win a political position is sick, dangerous, maniacal, deranged and totally unfit for any political position, particularly President .

Anyway the commenter said that part of the pattern of the Clintons behavior is to sometimes be horrible and outrageous and get people all riled up, then backpedal just enough to say (whenever it becomes convenient to their agenda) they are being attacked by the response to whatever they said/did.
Through much of this campaign season, I have been feeling that one of Hillary Clinton's persistent strategies is to try to get a rise out of Senator Obama, related to this pattern. His ability and choice to stay calm and even-tempered through all the ugly and insanity has thwarted this Clinton strategy, IMO.
I saw and myself had a lot of different opinions on the whole "should he fight back" question. But at this point I am kind of in awe of his response to these tactics, because it is not something I would have been able to do and it seems to work very well.
It's like: She has this strategy of getting horrible and outrageous. It's *supposed* to provoke a response that she can then use to her advantage in a big way. But it doesn't provoke the response from Obama that she's going for. He just moves WITH the flow (rather than openly against it) and in that way lets it slide past, in a way.
And by this approach her strategy is transformed into a process of this whole situation smoking her out so she more and more shows the extent of how batshit crazy racist sociopathic she really is.
And I think it maybe that is not only (and maybe has never only been) about getting a rise out of Senator Obama -- but out of the rest of us also. Though I'm not sure about this.
Anyway, I have found that I have no way to stop myself from feeling their actions and related words as violence at some level. And, I have found that telling myself to not feel it is doing wrong to myself because I do feel it and it is real.
So when she said what she said (and I am not going to repeat it) it actually made me shake, and start yelling and feel like I was going to cry and not be able to stop. I knew cognitively that this was a reaction to something intended to provoke a reaction, I wished I did not feel it like that because I was letting her get to me, like a bully does.
But I saw that her words functioned as a rhetorical weapon designed to get very very quicky underneath whatever defenses we have and invoke the most visceral response among the largest number of Obama supporters and possibly others.
I don't really have a conclusion here to tie all this together or whatever. So I'll just post the comment.
Let me also say something else. I really don't want anyone to feel bad, but I think it's worth it for me to point out something. I've had a few African American friends and acquaintances, I have AA neighbors right now, and I've certainly known a few AA's over the years. Anyway, it is so totally clear to me, as clear as the blazing sun, what a terrible, terrible thing it would be to mention "assassination" in regard to Obama.
It really is like talking about "Jews" and "ovens"... or using the N-word. I mean, there are some things no one in their right mind should ever do.
I mention this because for a politicna to make that kind of terrible mistake, especially someone who wants to be President (well, now, Vice President) is really incredible, inexcusable.
What I'm trying to say is, if an ordinary person like me says something stupid, that's bad enough. But for a politician to come right out and talk about assasination, in the context of what should be Obama's victory lap, is beyond awful.
Certainly that's the way Obama's campaign initially appeared to interpret her remark to a South Dakota newspaper, the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls.
"Senator Clinton's statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign," Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement Friday.
On Saturday while campaigning in Puerto Rico, Obama seemed inclined to excuse Clinton's remark as a simple misstep.
"I have learned that when you are campaigning for as many months as Senator Clinton and I have been campaigning, sometimes you get careless in terms of the statements that you make and I think that is what happened here. Senator Clinton says that she did not intend any offense by it and I will take her at her word on that," Obama told Radio Isla Puerto Rico. Source: From AP: Analysis: Clinton's latest off-key remark By DEVLIN BARRETT
I've been thinking a lot lately about truth telling and its dynamics in this society. In my life all along I've been frustrated horrified and baffled about how deception functions and protects itself.
From experience I have come to feel like it's a no-win situation. My experience is this: Tell the truth baldly and bluntly outside of groups that already agree, and there is a backlash. The backlash functions to take attention off of the truth and re-focus it onto something else that seems related but is really a change of subject.
Senator Obama's words alone don't always tell the truth as bluntly as I would like. But that is partly because I have a problem with understanding how "words alone" exist and function in this society. I don't really get the disconnection between words and actions. But I think it's that disconnection that makes the backlash-redirection possible and powerful.
I do see how Senator Obama is telling -- by revealing more than speaking -- the truth through his actions. His actions and approaches to things often provoke truth to come out of its own accord. He doesn't have to tell it in words alone because it shows itself, partly in response to how he chooses to move through situations. I may not have the right words to describe this here. I've been noticing this for a while now but it has been hard for me to find a way to describe it.
I don't know if this is interesting beyond my own internal reflections with myself and am sorry if it's not and I have just posted these two freaking long comments just for my own sake but in case not --
I really have gone from initially and intermittently feeling upset at these kinds of moves (like the quote above) because they don't conform to my idea of what telling the truth is ... to standing in serious awe of and deep respect for how his actions, approaches and responses actually function to bring the reality, ugly as it may be, to stark visibility in various situations.
And again, I am sorry for these two long posts if this is only or even mostly only interesting to me in my own reflections.

Did Hillary's RFK Remark Doom Her?
Posted by David S Morgan| 84
Following Sen. Hillary Clinton's statement that presidential nominating contests have historically lasted late into the calendar year, citing the June 1968 assassination of Robert F. Kennedy as one example, an observer said the comment probably dooms any chance that she would be picked for the number two position by frontrunner Sen. Barack Obama.
"This probably means the end of her campaign," said David Mark, senior editor of Politico.com, on The Early Show. "She was already treading on pretty thin ice. To raise the specter of a tragic event like an assassination, this probably ends any vice presidential hopes she had."
Clinton was quick to apologize for the statement, saying Friday, "I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation - and in particular the Kennedy family - was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that whatsoever."
However, Mark doesn’t believe the retraction will work.
"She trying to walk this back as furiously, as quickly as she possibly can," he said. "But yes, the damage is essentially done. There's no way of taking it back. It's right there in black and white, on videotape. And whatever she meant, it will be taken a certain way."
What does this mean for talk of the "dream ticket," which has been building in part as a means to allow a graceful and perhaps productive way to end the standoff between the two presidential hopefuls?
Mark believed the chances of an Obama-Clinton pairing were slim before her comments on Friday. "I don't think he particularly gains much from having her on the ticket," he said. "I don't think he particularly needs her. Yes, half the Democratic Party is with her, but most Democrats are not going to go over and vote for John McCain" if their candidate doesn't get the nomination."
We often think alone the same lines.
I've been thinking about those statements and this might not be realistic, but I think all the VP and assasination talk has been made by camp crazy for the sole purpose of "getting a rise out of Senator Obama" and us but to get a rise out of and ghettoize Michelle Obama.
I say this because they no Michelle has been worried about and spoke about his safety since day one and her comments about crazy being VP.
I think it may be a ploy to bring out the "sista girl" who lurks somewhere near the surface in all of us, especially when faced with a challenge.
Just my thoughts.
I know if Obama were my husband, I probably wouldn't be able to conceal my desire to wring that bitch's neck.
We are talking about a husband, partner, and father of children. A family with a bright future.
And I agree with you 100% about it particularly targeting Michelle Obama -- one of the very first things that came out of my mouth after I was able to calm down just a little (still yelling and very upset at the time but a little bit calmer than right at first) was my sense that this was especially targeted at his family and specifically Michelle. Visceral. So ugly to do that.
I had a conversation a few days ago with a (I assume white from her perspective) cultural critic writing for the Chicago Tribune. She was saying that the media people calling Clinton a monster and being rhetorically violent against her -- like calling her a psycho ex-girlfriend and rhetorically wishing her dead -- was an attack on all women. Yes, she said, all strong women are victims of such attacks on Hillary.
I said, hell no, not me. I said, Hillary is an abuser, a perpetrator, and I know a perpetrator when I see one even if this society says that white women supposedly can't be perpetrators.
So Ms Martin, the scenario you're describing is IMO a perfect one for a white female perpetrator's advantage ... because some people would be all "look at the violent Black woman going after the white woman whose words have plausible deniability" and so Hillary gets to be a victim again and her own violent acts go invisible.
I want to send my love and care and best wishes to Michelle Obama for having to put up with this violent attack and its horror, and I hope she is holding on ok, whatever that means for her own well-being and that of her family.
Me either. This woman is a wolf in sheep's clothing (sometimes) and IMO capable of every trick and guise that a predatory male would use to have his way.
She uses those tactics with her female supporters who follow her strength as a female and don't realize she's playing them like a deceptive man would.
The Tao of Obama
Obama is a child of Hawaii and Indonesia. His eastern approach to political conflict (especially as it relates to she who shall not be named) is both genius and refreshing.
And relentlessly spiritual.
I found Obama's response accurate without being inflammatory. It is a long campaign. Her words were reckless. At best. But we all know this. And he said he takes her at her word when we all know her word means shit.
Translation: she's a reckless, lying pile of cow dung, but if we forgive her and move on, her recklessness and her lies have no power.
He's a better politican than I am. Which is precisely why he's running for President and I'm not.
I occurred to me while reading it that maybe Hillary is daring the DNC to come out against her; thereby, activating the mythology that the nomination was stolen from her. She's already created the groundwork by suggesting the race is tied and she's ahead in votes.
Why would she want this? Barack's win would be tainted. She wouldn't have to live with the shame of losing. She gets to continue harvesting the capital of being a victim.
I agree with what you and ms.martin said. Hillary is getting payback on the American people for rejecting her...but especially African Americans. It's a multi-pronged psychological attack. She knows assassination is a scar on the American psyche, what better way to hurt, than to invoke that horror. For African Americans it is especially painful with our history of loss - having things we love taken from us. This is abusive, not hit you upside your head abusive - it's the killer not telling the grieving parent where their child's body is kind of abusive. America is in pain, and Hillary seeks to break it's spirit for rejecting her.
Hillary cannot win, but she thinks she can deny and delay our joy. "Not so fast.." her campaign says.
Barack, Michelle and the girls paint a beatiful picture of family. The obviously faithful husband, and the mother who says her girls mean everything. They will occupy the White House and Hillary gets perverse pleasure from tormenting them.
Finally..someone at the Obama site posted that Hillary mentioned occupying RFK's seat. The commenter had an interesting take on that oddity. She said, (paraphrasing) that Hillary is saying she already holds the seat of one dead President, and she would be perfectly happy to hold the seat of another.
It will NEVER happen, see..I feel anger at all Hillary's antics; but, I KNOW she will not prevail. Barack is predestined. I marvel at the way things fall effortlessly into place for him. The religious would say he is blessed by God. A heathen like me thinks he resonates with, and rides a wave of energy that no amount of plotting can thwart. He is aligned with massive energies that propel him forward.
Fear not! ;)
Your post was also great. Well thought out and articulated to the letter.
This campaign has been especially hurtful to me for personal reasons. I no longer have the ability to articulate a clear thought that isn't laced with anger.
I did see those other posts of yours but absolutely didn't understand the relevance, didn't get it. Thanks for saying it again, I think I get it this time.
And even more, thank you for your analysis/translation of his words: I found Obama's response accurate without being inflammatory. It is a long campaign. Her words were reckless. At best. But we all know this. And he said he takes her at her word when we all know her word means shit.
Translation: she's a reckless, lying pile of cow dung, but if we forgive her and move on, her recklessness and her lies have no power.
That thing about taking her at her word is -- wow -- it may be among the most brilliant layered expressions of truth I have ever seen. And, there are very very few things, apart from being around my parakeet, that literally make me grin with delight. But reading and reflecting on this did. Amazing.
Weird how long it's taken for my brain to catch up with what my gut has been feeling about Senator Obama all along.
and --- Oooh, as I post this I see a post from Truthseeker and Ms Martin and I am sorry I have to go now but looking forward to reading when I get back. I am very appreciative of this whole discussion, very very appreciative.
I tried to follow the link you gave Michelle, but it doesn't take me to the story.
I understand Obama's task and challenge to maneuver the mine fields so to speak, but I can only attribute my understanding to having seem the game played. I have never called on him to act out because there is something in him that I trust is guiding him through this process. It would be great if I had a better understanding of what is guiding him.
I keep reading your post (4 times now) and you have answered the million dollar question: What is Hillary looking for.
If ever your answer had been provided to the question that has been spoken for over a week now, this thing would be over.
Thank you.
She believed she was ENTITLED to be PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
That's the bottom line- her overwhelming sense of ENTITLEMENT.
I'm also with Craig - he's convinced me. Bill's written checks his ass can't cash if Hillpatine isn't President or Vice-President.
They have been provoking Obama all along, and he's kept his cool because he'll never allow them to paint him as a The Angry Black Man. IMO, the only time we would ever see him truly visibly angry is if something happened to Michelle or the Girls. Outside of that - if it's direct at him - no.
I will also take up for Donna Brazile and Jim Clyburn. Clyburn's given his word - he stays neutral, in theory. Brazile, is ' neutral' too. But, look at what they said. Donna Brazile is going to be in that meeting on May 31st....you REALLY think she hasn't made up her mind about this already? You REALLY think she wasn't on the phone to folks once this came out? Same for Clyburn.
What you need to be doing is publishing the telephone numbers for the other ' neutral' members of the CBC, and for the HHH and ask them what the hell they intend to do.
I'll repeat myself, the best thing Olbermann did in that Special Comment, and though we love KO, let's get real, just how large is his audience? Not really all that large, but the TYPE of folks that are in his audience is what's important. The same types of folk that will forward it in links in emails and send it on PDA's. Be assured, KO's Special Comment had a certain kind of audience.
Her own NYTimes called her ass out for her NON-Apology Apology.
And, 24 hours and counting..
AND STILL NO APOLOGY TO OBAMA AND MICHELLE.
Don't think that went unnoticed.
IS HE GAVE A LAUNDRY LIST OF HER BULLSHIT. It could have been taken directly from the Wiki. And, it was long. It gives CONTEXT to what she said...that it wasn't said in Isolation...and, KO reminds us that she said it BEFORE, so to remind you not to believe whatever bullshit lie that comes out of her mouth about it now. That Special Comment worked on many levels.
::
ms.martin, I'll try again
The Tao of Obama
::
And get this, y'all. Get this:
Barack Obama wants Bill to heal Hillary Clinton wounds
Also, the title is revealing on SO MANY LEVELS.
That's what this has ALWAYS been about. Hillary is a wounded animal, wounded most by Bill's philandering. Never, though, did she think it would be so public. Monika Lewinsky didn't shoot herself in the head: she lived to tell her truth.
The Presidency was supposed to provide, at long last, Hillary's healing. It's too bad she believed it would. While I believe in the power of prayer, prayer is no substitute for psychiatric care. And prayer only works when a soul is open. Hers is not.
She needs to go on a long vacation and then undergo some SERIOUS analysis.

Here is a link to the letter from Senator Steven Gellar. He sent it to the DNC RBC and wanted them to review during the May 31 meeting. I thought you would be interested. Pretty long but this is the tactic they intend to use.

I will also repost this on next Tuesday to make sure it is available to folks who are away this weekend.
I agree the laundry list was the most important thing he did. He broke it down. You did this and that, and that and now you have just gone too far.
The laundry list was a validation of all things wiki we know to be true.
thanks for the kind words!
As for Donna Brazile...I read somewhere today where she commented "I'm numb" when asked about Hillary's statement. It might have been at a link posted here...I can't recall.
I suppose Brazile and Clyburn must stay officially neutral to be able to speak out without being accused of bias.
I went to the site a couple of days ago, and the opening picture was of the family. You are probably right, and it hurts my heart too.
She's a wretched, evil woman.
EVIL.
Heeey party ovah heeere!!!

But then again, I guess he has to keep taking the high road. Lord knows I would have snatched off my microphone by now and told Hillary a thing or two.
But that's why he's going to be our next President...

lexusOakland: I'm almost 100% certain I saw the new picture (him alone, not the family) on May 7th when donating $25 in response to his campaign's email about Clinton lending her campaign 6.4 million -- I think I noticed and remarked on it to my girlfriend at the time. I just asked her and she thinks she remembers that too, we were both standing there with the credit card and looking. But then, rikyrah says she saw the old picture a couple of days ago. So maybe they've switched it before as well?
I don't know... it just really hit me in my gut, as it made all of the events of the past week take on an even more ominous tone... If it does predate this week, then maybe I'm just being hypersensitive... but that doesn't change the fact that, as you stated rikyrah...she's an evil woman.
On that same note... over at The Field, Al posted an interesting plea NOT to give HRC's remarks more play (and this may also explain Obama's decision to take the high road): He asked folks to read this (http://www.psychohistory.com/htm/eln01_leader.html) article before "speaking aloud" about her remarks.
Maybe this is why he didn't spend a lot of time in WV or KY.
"Uhhhh, why does Obama keep giving this pig a pass???"
My family and I were having the same conversation today. Of course, the idea is that taking the high road gives a stark contrast to her evil ways.
But Obama needs to bring the hammer down the next time she even THINKS of stepping out of line. Otherwise, he's just enabling her poor behavior.
The next time she shows her a*s (which should be any day, now) Obama needs to come out with a list, just like Olbermann did, to shut her up and put this thing to bed.
This issue came up on some other discussion threads. People are noting how Obama has a list that he can point to of times when he either (a) took the high road; and/or (b) gave Hillary cover for one of her stupid statements.
Hillary, on the other hand, doesn't have such a list. In fact, she has a list of times where she's piled on along with the media, John McCain and the RNC (Rev. Wright, "bittergate," "NAFTA-gate" etc.).
One person recalled how Obama also defended Hillary's "sniper" gaffe during the ABC debate in late April.
Add that to his constant praise of Hillary despite her evil ways, and Obama's got a TON of karma points through good faith.
But he needs to cash them in sooner or later.
People have a tendency to mistake kindness for weakness.
Keith Olberman's audience, particularly between 25-54, is roughly the equal to O'Reilly's and is pretty much must see TV for progressive Political Junkies.
And this is taking into consideration that it isnt available in parts of the NY media market apparently for some kind of random carrier reasons.
You hit the nail on the head with that one, truthseeker.
Olbermann made a great point in his special comment. . . Hillary won't go away until we, the people and media, start holding her accountable. She gets away with as much as we're willing to let her.
Babyming, what you said was so succinct: Assassination is to African Americans as oven is to Jews. That truly summarizes it.
Craig, I read the article about the Obama campaign allegedly asking bill to campaign for him to heal the rift in the party. To me that seems like somewhat of a faulty strategy, and one that I am vehemently opposed to. For one, bill hasn't done that great for hill. I have seen quite a bit of footage of him talking about himself and his accomplishments when he is (so-called) campaigning for his (so-called) wife. It's almost as if he is saying "if you vote form her, you'll get me back." Secondly, he didn't campaign all that great for Al Gore, who he knows well and "respected." You never hear of them having anything to do with each other since then either. I think the best bill would be able to do would be similar to a John Edwards fake ass endorsement, suggesting that hillary is better, but since she's not going to win, I endorse Obama. Who needs it? Third, I think billy is a lose cannon and can't be trusted. He has also endorsed McCryptkeeper over Obama along with her. Part of why these people keep doing this unsavory stuff is because they continuously get bailed out. I honestly don't believe he wants to heal his relationship with AA's except for the sake of continuing his career & having power. He didn't hesitate to play the race card & then blame it on Obama & neither did she. Let them just live with the ramifications of that.
You just gotta cut some people loose sometimes.
Message to Obama: Keep bill and hill as FAAAAAR away from your campaign as possible.
Trouble brewing in N.Y. for Clinton: Black leaders say that if Hillary Rodham Clinton returns as senator, she'll need to heal racial wounds her campaign has inflicted.

Kennedy's Feel Bobby-Socked.
May 25, 2008 --
Members of the Kennedy family are incensed over Hillary Rodham Clinton's invoking the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy to explain why she's staying in the race - and they think it could be the death knell of an increasingly desperate and sloppy campaign.

Yup, I don't think Hillary's completely off the hook as far as the Kennedy family is concerned. They might play it cool, but I don't think they're gonna forget it. And I'd think that this could come back to bite her in the near future back in NY politics.
It was weird to see RFK Jr. come out with such a strong defense so soon. I know he's the son, but I'm not sure if he speaks for the whole family like that.

Sen. Barack Obama accused Sen. Hillary Clinton of stoking anger in Florida and Michigan over the Democratic Party's decision not to recognize the states' primary votes.
"They weren't stirring it up when they didn't need the delegates," he said. "Let's not sort of pretend that we don't know what's going on. This is, from their perspective, their last slender hope to make arguments about how they can win."
Obama, speaking to reporters on his campaign plane late Saturday, also took on Sen. John McCain's suggestion that Obama's lack of military service makes him unqualified to criticize him on veterans issues.
"I will cede to no one the ability to talk about veterans issues," Obama said. "My grandfather was a veteran. Those veterans benefits helped my grandparents to raise my mother. I have veterans throughout the state of Illinois that I've been fighting for since I came into the United States Senate."
Obama returned to his home base of Chicago, Illinois, Saturday night after a campaign swing through in Puerto Rico, which holds its primary June 1, and spending three days in Florida.
Obama said he wants a resolution of the controversy over the seating of the Florida and Michigan delegations so that they "feel that they've been treated fairly and they're seated."
"I want to be looking at them when I'm standing on the stage in Denver in August," Obama said.

Nixon is saying the nomination process needs to be changed.
May I remind people that after the 2000 election, she claimed that the first thing she'd do in the US Senate was work on pushing through an amendment to get rid of the electoral college.
Far as I'm aware that was all hot air.
Smearing Obama and his campaign for inflaming the situation by calling her remarks unfortunate with no place in the campaign.
All of them are evil incarnate.

By trying to overturn Obama's victory, Hillary has helped make America a place where elections are decided by lawyers instead of voters

The reality, though, is that no one really knows what the fuck is going on now over the phone lines. All we know is that D-day is May 31st and that between now and then — unless Hillary bows out — the orderly and rational process of primary season is going to give way to the clubs-and-stones Hobbesian jungle that is unregulated, raw politics, the politics of using any means necessary to fight your enemy. While we wait for this process to play itself out, we are as helpless as Chinese citizens waiting for the Politburo to hand them a new premier, or Catholics watching the chimney in St. Peter's Square for word of a new pope."

Well here's the crow as spirit guide:
Crows are very vocal birds. They are sly and often deceptive in their actions. Crows have been known to build false nests high in treetops to confuse predators. The height of their nests give them the opportunity to watch everything that is going on around them. Many cultures think of crow as the keeper of knowledge for nothing escapes their keen sight.
Crows travel in groups and make mischief in teams. As one crow explores something new, others will watch closely to see what happens and then learn from it. In this way they seem to always be in council with each other. They often raise a ruckus when hunters are around, warning deer and other birds. Crows recognize possible danger and always post lookouts when feeding---thier most vulnerable time.
Their language is complex and they have a remarkable voice range. Each caw has its own meaning. Sometimes crow warns of impending danger. Other times it signals a time to join in council and make decisions. Listening to crow can teach those with this medicine how to hear the truth of what is being said.
The striking black color of crow represents the color of creation. It is the womb out of which the new is born. Black the color of night gives birth to the light of a new day. Crow is a daytime bird reminding us that magic and creation are present in both. Their ability to shift between the known and unknown world indicates new journeys.
Because crow is adaptable to all environments and will eat almost anything they can survive in almost any situation. Crow is associated with magic, unseen forces and spiritual strength. If crow flies into your life, get out of your familiar nest, look beyond your present range of vision, listen to its caw and act accordingly.
