    Can I just say I get soooo sick of these Fruit Loops? They *tried* to pull this shizz at a military funeral in Bakersfield, Calif. once and punked out when every biker, current military, ex-military and cop in town showed up on a motorcycle, cop car, bus, foot, etc. and surrounded the church. I mean, they could smell a beat down coming and just decided to stay their asses at home. Seriously, everyone should have bikers on speed dial for these people. You know? Since no one else is really going to stand up and say "get the hell off our lawn, ya nut cases!" I respect the First Amendment. I also respect the right for Boss Hog to line up on the other side and give you the "don't eff wit me" face the whole time. Geez Louise. Hate, hate, hate these people!

    I, too, am sick of their constant inappropriate appearances in an attempt to further their sick and twisted agenda.

    How in the hell do the Phelps know who God hates?

    I respect their right to excerise their rights as citizens, but so much good would be done for this society if we could just lock these people away (with a righteous beatdown on the Phelps first for good measure).

    I have to source my files but I have a story from Texas where they started that s@#$. They got a beat down from the whole town. The defining statement was"he's our's" refering to the gay kid.

    If anyone can handle them, it's the Quakers. I attended Quaker Meeting for about 15 years. Quakers have a long history of tolerance, conflict resolution, gracefully handling difficult matters, standing up for justice in quiet and powerful ways. You can believe that they are doing the right thing and using this as a learning experience and a reflection on the historical impact of hatred for the young people under their care too. I was not surprised when I heard they allowed this.

    Having gone to Sidwell, I'm sure they are using it as a "teaching moment". That's nice but the Obama girls should be allowed their childhoods. Allowing protesters to set up camp and terrorize children is unacceptable. Let's not play politics with kids' lives.

    I agree but its not illegal to protest. It was wrong what they did but they did not enter the campus, the didn't have contact with the kids at that school , and they were kept across the street. As much as we hate it they were within their rights to protest.

    If it's not illegal to direct protests at young children, then it should be.
    We have laws that restrict movement near schools. There are laws that say
    sex offenders can't live within 200 yards of schools and there are laws that
    provide extra punishment for selling drugs within 1000 yards of a school. If
    the law needs to be changed to protect Malia and Sasha Obama from white
    supremacist extremists, then so be it.

    I agree. Maybe you are right. And I think this applies to ALL children's lives because all children's lives are as precious as Malia and Sasha's and deserve protection. Equally, I don't think we should tolerate the violence on the streets or the poor schools and certainly we should not play politics with the youth in Roxbury, Grove Hall, Dorchester, Uphams Corner, Hyde Square of Boston and other cities as well. . .
