    B-Serious: YAAAAA! [she said, holding some balloons in her hands and ready to release them on Nov. 4!! :>] As I move through Mr. Obama's site, I have been consistently amazed at his "GROUND GAME!" He has been "warning" that he was a community organizer and has demonstrated the gains that participants had made in terms of housing, community development, etc.
    TRANSLATION: I know how to ORGANIZE people for the BIG WIN!! Every day [minute, even] individual/families/community organizations/campaign headquarters, etc. are posting their efforts! It's mind boggling!!! :>) :>) :>)
    Additionally, STATISTICIANS are gathering DATA by which they can [almost] predict down to streets and residences, where the VOTES ARE and are not!! This is what got billary and I can't believe that "MCANCIENT" has this kind of "game plan". Heck, he cain't even remember where he put his XXX from one minute to the next! :>) :>)
    Imagine this cartoon: Campaign chairman, campaign staff and "MCANCIENT" [in the rear] marching in a line. "MCANCIENT" states to the press - "And I'm LEADING my staff to great campaign heights"!! :>) O.K. A cartoonist I R not.! :>) My point is, I don't believe that "MCANCIENT'S" campaign has his leadership, except for the "POUTY" verbiage that he spews!! [POUTING = my Category #3]
    Yes, I'm "DISSING THE DUDE!"

    I'm guardedly optimistic, but I can't help but remember how dejected Karl Rove was about 10-11 a.m. on election day in 2004. All the rethugs were hanging their heads and then . . . and then . . . their plan kicked into gear and they managed to manipulate and control and steal that election too.

    That's the thing that scares me most now: that their disenfranchisement tactics will work again.

    I was having a glitch with disqus also..I don't know if it's related to your difficulty getting into the open thread.

    Move your mouse pointer over your username and a box will come up. Click on your username in the box which will take you to your comments. At the very bottom of that page, click on "Forum", then on "Support desk", then on "new thread" and explain what your problem is. A support person will respond and look into it.

    Yeah, Joe and Pat heads are literally going to explode any moment now.

    I was in the shower this morning, but my husband said that the following exchange happened on Scarborough. Joe asked Buchannan if he wished Reagan would have received as much coverage as Obama is currently. Buchannan responded something to the effect of, "the media is covering this like the civil rights movement, as if they are on the right side". WTF.
    I think MSNBC think it is really funny to have this old cranky racist guy on. I think because his views are so well know, he gets away with it.

    Heard today on the "Ed Schultz show:" Robert Lichter, President of the Center for Media and Public Affairs George Mason University said on Monday that the Center's research has found that candidate John McCain gets his most-favorable coverage from ABC News; Barack Obama gets his least-favorable coverage from NBC News.

    ABC news is nothing but an extension of the McCain campaign.

    NBC has most of the political shows. Most of the hosts and guests claim ad nauseum that Barack has "problems" with every demographic under the sun.

    That all goes into the negative rating from that study.

    That was an excellent post about polls and how Obama is doing. I think that the media will play things up like the race is close even if it isn't as things approach election night. I saw Wolf Blitzer talking about the poll results but it didn't sound as positive as it should have been. In fact, I think he said that Obama didn't get as much of a boost from his Europe trip as he could have. They also downplayed McCain's biopsy news and said again that he received a clean bill of health. But when I watched The Daily Show they listed many health problems for McCain. So as far as health goes, they are on McCain's side. I also agree that more press isn't necessarily good press. They are waiting for Obama to make a big mistake so they follow and report on everything. Although they report on McCain making gaffes they never link it to his age or to the mistakes he could make as President.
