Barak should make it clear up front - that there will be no collaboration anywhere --No Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton. Let the chips fall.
Those pissed off, and there are many, would never vote for Hillary irrespective of how she tries to bury the hatchet, after the stabbing.
Cannot believe how Democrats have also become the party of the "swift boaters". Disgraceful!
McCain wins in November

I will not vote for her, and, hope she is the candidate, and will laugh at how the GOP will smear her to tears, and, win the WH again, because it will, this polarizing, hateful woman is too much.
Go John McCain and Karl Rove, bring it on home and give her the same medicine that she has doled out to the dimwitted racists who vote for her, since they are voting against Obama because he is black, not that he is the better qualified person. It will be sweet in Novemeber to watch her get trounced and put in her place, lame ex-president's wife.

A friend tried to chide me when I got overheated about Hillary's low rent tactics, saying that it's just politics and everyone does it and I'm irrational for being angry only at Hillary. I explained to her that I can't stomach one democrat using the southern strategy on another democrat. The major league whining about the press being soft, giving a free pass to an inexperienced, not as smart as her, empty suit speechifier, all in the effort to paint him as the affirmative action candidate.
Even until very recently, I was sure my current ill will toward her tactics would subside by November should she get the nomination. But the 60 Minutes "he's not muslim, as far as I know" performance was the last straw.
If she wins using these tactics, things will never change. She has lost my vote forever. But I am grateful in a sense that I got to see all of this - it's not just the "evil republicans" who do this. They say that republicans are good at stoking tribal feelings among its base. But what has Bill and Hillary been doing starting in Nevada? Every issue was framed as "they think they're better than you!" What? Because the party set up at large caucuses? Their belittling the wins where AA vote was high as "oh the blacks are voting their emotion and pride" meaning non-blacks vote with their head. Then in Texas, "it would be tragic if Hillary won, but they took it away in the caucus". I am so done with the both of them.
What I find most interesting is that Obama supporters are angry at Hillary for her tactics, but Hillary supporters are angry at Barack because people like him more. It's not anything that he himself is doing.

I refused to believe Americans were that gullible, then I heard the people in Ohio and shook my head. For so many this isn't politics as usual, and if HRC is the nominee by whatever underhanded means she employs I cannot vote for her. But she CANNOT become the nominee. If she does, I am done with the Democratic Party as well.

The ONLY question is whether or not we're willing to accept the Clinton spin that, somehow, the delegates don't matter. The only thing that matters is whether or not the media and the public are gullible enough to accept an undemocratic result to this Democratic nomination process.
If you buy her spin, then we will almost certainly nominate the candidate who got LESS votes, LESS pledged delegates and LESS states.
I swear, if that happens then the DNC should right a big fat apology letter to George W. Bush for whinning about the stolen election in 2000. It's no different here. The only difference is that the person planning to steal this thing has a (D) at the end of her name and a last name of "Clinton."
Don't believe the hype! Don't buy the spin that Ohio means more than the rest of the country because it's a "swing" state. We get a different swing state every four years. That's because swing states are determined, in part, by the character and qualities of the two people running for office, not just the political make-up of the state. Last time I checked, Missouri and Colorado were swing states as well.
Plus. Am I supposed to believe that Obama can't win Democratic strongholds like New York, and California.
It's funny. We swallow so much BS that we've learned to accept the unacceptable.
It kinda reminds me of the Iraq war. Remember? We allowed Bush to keep moving the goal posts. First it was weapons of mass destruction, then it was democracy in the middle east. The justifications kept on changing every 2-3 months. Before we knew it, we were fighting in the wrong country, with no exit strategy. And we had the NERVE to ask, "how did we get here?"
We got there the same way we'll get to a Hillary nomination . . . because we, the people, didn't do our job to hold people accountable. But hey, the means always justify the ends, right?

I invested in more than a man; I invested in HIS VISION. Being her VP would betray that vision.
Having said that, I genuinely feel and KNOW that the only chance this party has for succeeding is with OBAMA at the top of the ticket.
Obama has a virtually insurmountable delegate lead and now it's time for the superdelegates to start throwing their weight around in his favor.
It's also time for satirists of "all stripes and colors" to start doing what Obama can not do...ATTACK THE CLINTONS with Jokes, with HECKLES at their rallies, with every weapon at our disposal.
If Tina Fey and Amy Poehler want to empower/promote that "B__th is the new black," then they need to be schooled with the ultimate truth, "Once you go BLACK, you never go BACK!"

I will never cast a vote for McCain, b/c I cannot sanction voting to support the many wars that he will drag us into. I think that he had some integrity once, but has squandered all of that in search of the presidency. By the way, he is no boy scout. Please remember that this is the guy who has, as recently as 2007, stated that he "hated gooks" when speaking about Vietnamese people Now, I understand that he was a POW and had some strong feelings about the people who imprisoned him, however, after centuries of slavery and colonialism, one could argue that black folks also were POW's. Do you really think that a credible black candidate would be able to get away with that kind of racist statement about white folks? I don't think so. An Asian AMerican friend of mine has made me promise to vouch for her if he wins and reinstates Asian internment camps. LOL!
One final point:
There will be a lot of pressure on Barack to take the VP spot because the democrats may buy her nasty argument, but we must send emails to his campaign encouraging him not to do so.

Oh, Ohio - there is a reason you are losing so many jobs, and it ain't NAFTA. Until recently, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada - all of which are closer to Mexico and trade more with Mexico were booming. You're losing jobs because you have a 1970's job skill set in a 2008 economy. But hey, Clinton hinted that Obama might be a Muslim, so I guess some things are more important.

Yes. A credible black candidate who has been through a similar experience could make a statement similar to McCain's and not be thrown under the bus for it.
All of the candidates-Obama included-have varying degrees of shadiness. Of course McCain isn't a boy scout.
McCain isn't the one running for his ambition, or as a dramatic force for "change." He seeks to do all he can for his country because, once, this country did all it could for him.
And I'll stop the flag waving there. :)

PULEEZE. Neither of them will take Veep spots from the other. Obama would lose all my respect (and my guess the respect of many of his supporter) if he did that.

Does no one find it amusing the ridiculously high standards Obama is held to compare to CLinton?

Apart from pissing off non-Hillary supporting democrats, is this really a good line of attack?
Her lifetime of experience made her vote for one of the biggest foreign policy blunders in American history. Loss of lives ( our soldiers, their innocent civilians), chaos in the region, and a huge negative impact on our economy. Man, one can only dream that Clinton just made a speech instead of marshalling her lifetime of experience!
When is someone going to call her on this bullshit?

Disagree. I think if Obama took the VP spot, he immediately becomes the next front runner. Plus, it gives him a chance to shore up on the security/foreign policy problems that have been called into question by his supporters.

I think that blacks have put themselves in a box these many years.
The vast majority believes that the Democrat party is the only party for them. And what have they received for their loyalty?
Yet, any black person who dares to become an independent thinker or embrace the GOP, is an "Uncle Tom",
"House N*****", betrayers to their race. Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Thomas Sowell, (the list is long) are villified instead of celebrated for their achievements.
It is unfortunate for blacks that the GOP has become an anathema to them. I would suggest that blacks start to question the Democrat Party. Ask Republican, conservative blacks why they are members of the GOP? What is the harm?
Trust me, the only way Obama will have a viable political future is if he accepts the VP slot. Hillary will destroy him if he does not. She knows what to do now and like a dog with a bone, she will not let go. This Rezko trial is just heating up and he will not be able to get back on message.
Blacks are now seeing the full force of the 'politics of personal destruction' that so many have been brainwashed into thinking was the provenance of the GOP. The Clinton's are Machiavellian.
The Clinton's also know that the blacks will never leave the Democrat Party. Not as long as they can dangle the promise of a future Obama presidency in front of blacks in the party. He will be asked to rally blacks to the ticket in exchange for his turn in line (2016).

Race played less of factor in TX. The loss there rests solely with Black voters. Hillary Clinton was able to increase Latino turnout by more than 10%. Black turnout was actually down 1%. If there was a 22% African American turnout, he would have won.
I agree with Hillary Clinton in one sense...enough with the rallies. Obama's team should have been more focused on packing the voting booths rather than arenas.
What the hell was the get out the Black vote effort in TX?

Change means a change from the Republicans. Nothing more. Obama's a Democrat and he is beholden to the party more than anyone! They elevated him by giving him a keynote speech at the convention, took out any serious opposition he had in Illinois (Democrat AND Republican), the machine put him where he is today. You don't get something for nothing...now he has to pay up if he wants the "Big Prize" in the future.

The ONLY reason the Borg Queen will float an Obama on her VP ticket is to persuade Black Folk she's alienated with her race-baiting shyt back to her band wagon.
And if we don't start calling people like her out on her tactics, then we deserve the leadership we get, period.
She's only floating Obama, so she can fool us by replacing him with Harold Ford, Jr.
And that ticket virtually guarantees President McCain in 2009.

Listening to Hillary Clinton this morning, it's more than clear what her proposal is going to be:
She wants FL and MI seated, and she will put Barack on the ticket. She will make the case that he can't win big states.

There seem to be two choices.
1. Hillary stays in but agrees to clean up her campaign tactics.
2. Dean starts working the remaining uncommitted superdelegates to get enough of them on Obama's side to completely end hillary's chances.
I think plans will be made for both contingencies. But I think Obama has to stay focused and positive so that he is seen as the team player in all this drama. But, of course he knows all this.
Barack Obama is the finest politician of his generation. He has played this campaign like Gary Kasparov plays chess. He is thinking at least ten moves ahead and he sees every possible board position between here and there.
Chill out people! Hillary Clinton is tough and she may even be smart. But you know what they say about the difference between genius and stupidity...genius has its limits. And Obama has limits in terms of what he is willing to do and say to win. Clinton does not. She is going to step into one of those steaming piles of pooh she has been leaving around the campaign trail and the rest will be easy.
No one is going to have to vote for John McCain in the general. But we may have to work like none of us has ever worked before come the fall. So, the question is this...
Are we ready for change?
Fired up?
Ready to go?
Then the coffee break is over. Let's get back to the business of electing Barack Obama to be President of the United States.

"House N*****", betrayers to their race. Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Thomas Sowell, (the list is long) are villified instead of celebrated for their achievements.
Anon, you are wrong on this one.
We don't vilify the above named individuals because of their accomplishments.
We vilify them because as a result of those accomplishments, they should know better than to use those accomplishments to lie this country into a war, facilitate tax cuts for the wealthy and engage in a "fly in the buttermilk" mentality where they enjoy being the only "Black" anything, while accomplishing nothing and setting back the overall achievements of the African-American race because they have marketed themselves to people like George Bush as the "safe" Negro to which he can point out when deflecting charges of bigotry and racism.
We vilify these individuals because they, most of all, know how much hell African-Americans have caught in this country for over 400 years; stolen from our native land, stripped of our culture and forced to develop another one, and being generally hated and considered inferior because we are born into our ethnicity.
They know it and choose to ignore that knowledge in a bid for personal gain at the expense of the masses as well as continued suppresion of our race.
That is why they are vilified.

I was watching MSNBC for the results and I believe it was Tim Russert who held up an internal memo from the Obama camp that basically showed which states they knew they were going to win (and lose) in the primaries and caucuses.
From the very beginning, they knew they would do well Feb 5th- they predicted every state except Maine. They knew they would win VT last night.
They knew this already. Please believe, they planned for this.
What they couldn't have planned for is the media spin on it, so I suggest everybody just keep repeating what we already know: Miss Ann ain't won shit.

Call me a cynic but you forget this is a primary! You are betting on both these candidates going nuclear...it's not going to happen. The party comes first!
First, neither Obama or Clinton will go into the convention with enough pledged delegates (forget supers). The supers hold the key. It is now out of the electorates hands.
I am not young and idealistic. I am a life-long Chicagoan and I know how a party machine works. It is no coincidence that Obama is the Senator from Illinois who cut his teeth in the backyard of Jesse Jackson, Harold Washington and the Daley's. It is no coicidence that Obama's path to a political career was paved by cut-throat party maneuvering. It is no coincidence that he was elevated to the national stage at the convention and introduced as a 'rising star.' It is no coincidence that he was virtually unopposed in his Senate run after a Republican Party scandal. There are no coincidences in Machine politics. They let him have a taste of "Turkish Delight" and now he's hooked.
Now, who does Obama owe (and someone ALWAYS owes someone in Machine politics) for his fast track political career? He OWES the Democrat Party. And now, unless he wants to be destroyed by the people he owes (Does the name REZKO ring a bell?). It is no coincidence that Rezko was brought to trial just as the primaries were heating up. Now, behind closed doors, he will be told to get in line and wait his turn. He will now EARN his seat at the table, take the VP slot and unite the Democrat Party or they will destroy him just as quickly as they made him.
Its the Chicago Way, the Democrat Machine Way.

I have two words for you: Supreme Court.
Several of the jurist are now in their eighties and if another Republican gets the presidency, you can only imagine who John McCain would nominate. Somebody that could care less about equal pay, fairness, the criminal justice system, etc.
Now, as we try and calm down please remember this. I for one knew from the get-go what HRC was all about and my first choice was John Edwards due to his stand on helping the least of us, but when he was no longer in the race, I preferred BO as well. HRC is calculating to the point that she truly believes that she can whine and use her so-called twofer entitlement as a white woman to get over and the more she had to use it against this negro who has dared to make this a race, is now showing her true character for everyone to see.
God help us all as we make the choices we must.

Insiders in the Democratic Party are pissed at Clinton. They realize she has no chance of winning, and they fear a 7 week blood bath damaging whomever becomes the nominee. They fear that the blacks will walk out of the party if Obama ends the process with the most delegates but Hillary gets the nomination through a back room deal. And they fear letting John McCain be ignored for 7 weeks will be a disaster in November.
Obama has got many Super Delegates who will soon throw their support to him. He has an astounding fund-raising number he will release. And when these things happen, the pressure is going to be really high on Clinton to drop out.
She cannot drop out at the moment because she won Texas. But Mississippi will give her an excuse to leave. My guess is she takes it. Staying in will be burning every bridge in the party, and dooming a potential 2012 run. She's not going to do that. So we have to endure this for another week, not 7. The VP thing is positioning herself for VP. That's all. She knows she's not going to win.
"She cannot drop out at the moment because she won Texas. But Mississippi will give her an excuse to leave. My guess is she takes it."
I seriously doubt she will drop out. The Clintons obviously have the stomach to do just about anything to get the nomination. And, besides, even if Hillary doesn't get the nom, her tactics will dirty up Obama and further radicalize each camp against the other, so that Obama may very well lose in the general. So Hillary either wins the nomination or sets herself up for 2012. It's all excellent for Hillary!

"The elder George Bush, by the time he ran for re-election, had been president for four years; vice president for eight; ambassador to the UN for two years; de facto ambassador to China for two; Congressman for four; director of the CIA for one year; plus former head of the Republican National Comittee, decorated combat pilot, and commander in chief during one brief hot war and the end of the prolonged Cold War. Moreover, in his "3 a.m." moments of real crisis, he had used his experience to make sane decisions:handling the collapse of the Soviet empire, standing up against Saddam Hussein, putting together a wartime coalition so broad and supportive that the United States may have actually made money on the Gulf War, then having the sense not to occupy Iraq. Not bad!
Nonetheless, the young, vigorous, though vastly less experienced governor of Arkansas was a better match for America's needs in 1992 -- or so Bill Clinton argued, and I believed. To hear, 16 years later, the Clinton team stress the transcendent importance of a "lifetime of experience" must drive the elder George Bush mad."

In regards to the Supreme Court, I understand your view. While McCain talks about Roberts and Alito, he will not get judges of that ilk confirmed in a Senate that is held by the Democratic party. Democrats can also expect to pick up three to four new seats.
Therefore, McCain will have no choice but to nominate moderates to the bench. I can live with that choice.
I will not live with a party that will destroy itself from within. I will flee the party and become an independent.
The party cannot win PA, OH, MO, MI, WI without us. Just a fact. And I will sacrifice the next four years of McCain to proove that point.

Also, we might want to prepare for a Michigan/Florida revote. I was registered as an independent in Florida, but I am going to register as a democrat today so that I can vote if they redo the primary. Even though Clinton would probably win a revote in Florida, every vote is important in this proportional system that the democrats have.

To remain a credible candidate for 2012, Clinton has to get out before she gets blamed for going extremely nasty on Obama. She already has problems on that front. 6 more weeks of this will make it even more difficult for her.
What is interesting is what Obama thinks. If he thinks he can't win because of what Clinton did, then he should say, "Fine, it's your turn," drop out and watch her go down in flames in November. Then he sets himself up for 2012...

The sense of position entitlement, coupled with the sense of racial entitlement..... there are no words.
There. Are. No. Words.
But it's always been like this for Obama. I remember when Edwards was behind, Edwards supporter were floating that mess with Obama in the backseat. It never changes. Always, Obama and Obama supporters are expected to be grateful to be 'offered' the backseat to those Obama is winning over. Democratic Party members have severe issues.

You've got that right... so why are they expecting a certain demographic to come slumming back like a beaten housewife who's continually told she has nowhere else to go and really comes to believe no one else wants her and she can't make it on her own?
They really do believe that it will be 'all good' in November. It won't be. Republicans will gain some.... but the designation 'Independent' is going to gain a hell of a lot more. Then where will Democrats be?
What frightens me is, I wonder what their numbers look like for them to be confident that this is going to work out for their advantage.

It is due to our commitment to the sacrifices of our ancestors (of all races and genders) that we absolutely cannot support a candidate who relies on "race baiting" and fear mongering to get into office.
You are forgetting that she began this race with the support of the majority of people in the African-American community and very shrewdly decided that she would throw black voters under the bus in order to highlight her opponent's ethnicity and garner underground racist white support.
There are legions of people of all colors and genders who have been fighters in this country. But the crucial difference is that the ones we look up to have fought with honor and integrity--two characteristics that can not be attributed to Mrs. Clinton particularly after how she has carried herself in this race.
After squandering universal name recognition, a connection to a former president who had over %70 approval ratings, a meme of inevitability that was eaten up by the press, and a 150 million dollar financial lead, Mrs. Clinton has finally come down to making the none too subtle claim that she should win because Barack Obama is a lazy, shiftless, unqualified, “affirmative action" candidate, who cannot be trusted to make good decisions. That my friends (to use Sen. McCain's favorite characterization) is a kick in the teeth and a betrayal to all people of color who have worked their a**es off to make any real progress in a country riddled with unstated white privilege.
This race is no longer only about Barack Obama. I submit that if we sit down and take this, we will be throwing dirt on the memory of the many brave ancestors who fought honorably for our rights.

I think running as an independent would make his star fall faster than running as Hillary's running mate -- or asking Hillary to be his running mate. All things do not have to be done at once.
@ jett, thank you for calling out talkleft for spreading the Clinton campaign 'obama's campaign is disenfranchising people' bullshit.
As for not beating Hillary like a baby seal, you're a great person than I am. And Obama, the target of all this mess, is even better for continually taking the dignified road, the high road, when the Clintons try to sink him with bullshit and then play the 'we're sorry can we still be friends' knife twist afterwards. I can't do it. If the American people want to elect a whiner and a cheater and a person willing to manipulate gender and race just because America is nostalgic for pre-Bush .... we get the government we vote for. I'm not going to like it, but America will have spoken. But I'll be honest, I keep hearing Putin dissing Hillary by saying
'a head of state should have a head'
(not an exact quote) after she drew first blood by dissing him as soulless. how much respect will Hillary garner for herself, and how much will it be because the rest of the world believes that A Man (Bill) is actually pulling the strings? If Hillary acts like she's acted with the press and Obama, with the rest of the world..... we're in a world of pain. That's assuming that they manage to wrest the vote from John McCain. Or McCain dies between now and then because his health problems are more severe than his campaign is letting on.

"There will be some hurt feelings initially," Harold Ickes said. "But...black people will vote for her..."
Wow. How far can this be pushed? Why not bring slavery back? We'll vote Democratic anyway, right?
Seriously, black folk have to refuse to be treated like a bottom b****, though. The only people who can stop black folk from being taken for granted is black folk. No scaremongers need apply.

I have two words for you: Supreme Court.
squarepeg, I have two words for you: Lani Guinier
You people that are voting for HRC because of the Supreme Court are going to be greatly disappointed. The Clintons only care about the Clintons.

But hear me out on this scenario: McCain was endorsed by Poppy and Junior Bush. You all know what this means. The ultimate quid pro quo: The Bushes will give McCain support if and only if McCain names JEB Bush as his running mate. It makes perfect sense for the GOP. First, it keeps a Bush within White House grounds. Second, with McCain winning the election and with his "advancing" age, McCain runs for only ONE term and Jeb runs in 2012 for president. Jeb speaks fluent Spanish and his wife is a Latina so he wins the South AND states with large latino populations. This makes all the sense in the world.
See, Hillary. You reap what you sow.

Exactly. Think about the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP) at 1964 Demoratic Convention. Fannie Lou Hamer and others with the help of SNCC organized a political party against the segregationists and they were told not to push the envelope.
LBJ even cut off Fannie Lou Hamer's speech before a committee when she was testifying about the racism in the state.
Stokely Carmichael tells the story of the MFDP vividly in "Ready for Revolution". He outlines how all the leaders kept telling black folk that voted to seat delegates, "be practical" and "who else you going to vote for"
For centuries we've played this game. Letting white liberals play us for suckers. The lesser of two evils we're told. I say that Barack is the tipping point. For the MFDP and others I'm ready to sabotage Hillary's entitlement candidacy.

I have to say, if he loses the nomination (or, I suppose, gets screwed out of it), I think my brief interest in politics is done. I already truly dislike the fact that we can't discuss issues, but instead Obama potentially loses votes because he's been painted as a muslim.
I can't stand the fact that Hillary can boast that being the first female President would present change, and that young five year old girls will have someone to aspire to. Yet, had Obama stated the same in regards to being black and black and/or minority children, white voters would run for the hills. Obama would be boxed in as "the black candidate."
I hate how an articulate, highly intelligent man with a vision is shot down as an empty suit, yet had Obama had as much "experience" as Hillary yet had the intelligence and speaking ability of George Bush, he wouldn't have made it out of Iowa.
So suffice it to say...I hope America and the Democratic Party does the right thing, or I will probably be sitting on the sidelines during election seasons in the future. And it's not JUST because he's black, it's just that experience in Washington certainly doesn't always equate to POSITIVE experience, and I cannot get inspired or invested in the current politicians that we have out there now.

Not happening. McCain-Bush would be as bad as Clinton/(blank). Looks bad, sounds bad....nothing good comes out of that ticket.
Besides, I don't think Bush would accept at this point, for the same reason he didn't run: Bush fatigue.
President Bush endorsed McCain because, as the leader of the GOP, he had to. The democrats will try to spin it and say "look, he's Bush the third!!" when if a democrat was president, they'd do the exact same thing, or their candidate wouldn't be viable.

In other words, Mrs. Clinton was unable to overcome the 12 delegates that Mr. Obama netted out of Idaho. That's right. Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont combined netted Mrs. Clinton less delegates than Mr. Obama netted in Idaho alone. Nevertheless, this is surely a spectacular victory that will assure her the nomination...
...beware the coming Clinton putsch.

At this point, Hill may have already created enough of a poison-pill environment that even Obama can't win. In that case, the only solution could be an Obama/Hill ticket or an Obama/Bill ticket. I would vote for obama in the top spot. But any Hill ticket will never cut it.
I know that Obama has a strategy. Someone above pointed out the accurate predictions his team made months ago about the primary results. What is Hillary's strategy at this point?

Would John McCain have run the kind of campaign against Obama that Hillary is running?

About 30,000 people infected with Hep-C and HIV from blood products during the 80's. You might be wondering what that has to do with your elections? Guess whose name is right in the middle of it...Bill Clinton. He was Gov. of Arkansas and blood was used from prisoners without adequate screening which ended up shipped to countries around the world. The FDA revoked Arkansas's license but good 'ole Bill is implicated in the continuation of the program. Clinton will not release his records for the time he was Gov. (sound familiar?) He took possession of those papers before running for President.
So, I wonder if anyone knew when they cast a ballot for him that they were underwriting the death of tens of thousands of people? I wonder how many people who voted for Bush jr. knew they were condemning their own children to death in Iraq?
Some wonder why people from all over the world are watching your elections and supporting Obama...well.
OUR CHOICES DO MATTER!

Doubt it. He doesn't have to. There's enough policy issues with Obama that race will (most likely) be a non-issue.

You forget that I don't subscribe to the notion that liberal policies = bad policies.
That said, I agree that McCain probably wouldn't run a gutter campaign, and would--at the most--distance himself from dirty politicking.

Fair enough.
Having said that, though...I fully expect McCain to test Obama at least once. Will it be the focus of the entire campaign? No, but we all know McCain has a bit of a temper issue.....

"Trust me, the only way Obama will have a viable political future is if he accepts the VP slot."

I don't trust you. I don't know you to trust you. Nor do I agree with you.
I do agree with the person who feels grateful to have been able to see this kind of treachery in full flight.
It seems to may that Clinton's followers are the ones who are delusional or just as treacherous. She and her husband have no integrity whatsoever. To continue to think that she can "save" them from their economic woes or keep their children safe, when, ironically, no candidate has told us what they're going to do about stopping the terrorism in our nation's schools, is to participate in a fairy tale that we know can only end in a nightmare.

I don't think Obama has a problem with being "tested" by McCain's temper. So long as Barack's temper can be expressed by the same standards.

Hell, he's trying to attack McCain now...and he'd do well to keep his focus on the fight he's in, rather than the one he wants. Unlike McCain, he ain't the nominee.

I have begun to wonder if the journalists weren't given a directive to cover Hillary in the most favorable light while they pushed the questions regarding Obama.
The MSM of course explained all the way that the front runner is looked at closer, but I find that that wasn't really what occured. If you all noticed he took the front runner position over two weeks ago with an 11 state win; however, the pressure and negative reporting didn't increase until the weekend leading up to the TX, OH, VT, RI primaries. I truly believe that the strategies employed by the Clinton campaign and surrogates including the MSM coverage and SNL skits that were portrayed as comedy, but in fact where direct criticisms that could be followed up by a laugh and be called poking fun affected these primaries which was evidenced in the shift of traditional Obama supporters. Today they have started reporting that the shift was due to the 3:00 ad in an effort to cover their asses. They have also started the delegates don't really matter and FL and MI should be included campaign. They are all looking to Pennsylvania where the Governor proclaimed on national television that he didn't believe that a white man in Pennsylvania would vote for a black man.
Please understand that the type of change that Senator Obama desires to affect, will not just effect politicians it will get at the very core of what this country is founded on and has built upon for over a century. Those desirous of this change will be faced by incoming missiles from Hillary Clinton and people who hate Hillary Clinton who are desirous of keeping the minority at predesigned levels in this society. All while their staring us right in the face and know that we know what is going on. It it meant to enforce the message that there is nothing that we can do about it.
I have said all of this to say, we might not be able to control the direction that this election has gone in despite the best intentions and efforts of many, many, Americans from all different races, gender and socio economic backgrounds. But those who are offended by this tactic, can do something but contacting the DNC. If somehow Clinton is moved to the nomination on the tide of a nastily ran campaign backed by public officials to further enforce the notion that there is nothing we can do, then we should act by showing them that they can do what they want but they can do it without us. We should not fall in line with what is the most desirable of two wrongs!

Of all the contenders for the presidential nomination-on both sides-McCain is the most qualified to lead this country. My reasons why are over at my site (http://dillarddoctrine.blogspot.com/2008/01/wha... and Komack,
No, Hillary isn't the nominee either. My point is that as Obama tries to position himself as the front runner, he's looking down the road, and ignoring what's in his "rear view." Clinton's wins last night were not expected. If Obama becomes the nominee, he'll get his crack at McCain. Right now, outside of the occasional swipe, he should concentrate his efforts on Clinton. He may be far enough ahead that she can't win outright, but she's close enough to cause him trouble at the convention. That's what he needs to worry about right now.

McCain is an old man and will not have to live with the consequences of his policy. He is all war all the time. He is out of touch...endorsements from Haggee and Bush Jr prove that. He is surrounded by lobbyists and the cachet of dirty money. He may have convictions. but is not courageous in them...which nullifies the convictions in the first place.

I wonder what Bill's female victims call her? You know...the ones she harassed and investigated?

President Bush had to endorse McCain, as the leader of the GOP. Stop looking for more than it is. If Clinton I had come out for Gore, Gore would be endorsing this year's democratic nominee.
McCain isn't "all war all the time." Just because someone recognizes the threats to this country and wants to take active steps to keep us safe-rather than just harping on the fact that you were against a war that was well underway before you entered office-does not make McCain a warmonger.
Any president-unless he dies in office-has to, at least for a period of time, live with the consequences of his policy. McCain will be no different.
