(1) That there could be no more ironic deployment of those strategies than by a Southern woman.
(2) Although they appear to be doing harm, they apparently are not going to give her the nomination. I think it's failure to deliver the goods that will finally kill that beast, and if I'm right, these are it's death throes.
Barack is caught in a bind. On the one hand, if he goes after Hillary, people will say he's being just another sexist male. On the other hand, if he continues to stick to the issues, play by the rules, remain "presidential," as they say, white women like Maureen Dowd from the phony liberal New York Times will call him a wimp. That's all what they SAY.
What's behind it is what the post on the field's blog say: white privilege-- this conscious or unconscious mental process that runs like a thread through their mind. Let's see..."I'm white; I'm more entitled than this skinny black guy. Moreover, I was First Lady when Bill, my white husband, was once president. Why shouldn't I be the next president?"
They don't SAY it. They don't have to. The white people who earn their paychecks from the white, corporate media allow them to practice it.
Why? They THINK the same way-- not necessarily that Hillary, white woman should be president (being sexist too), but that some white person should be president; and that, if it has to a woman, then why not Hillary, why not this white woman?
Secondly, I've been thinking and saying for a while that everything that Obama has had to put up with has been a large-scale version of the things all of us have to deal with daily on a smaller scale. All of it is instantly recognizable.
She's on the money.
Hope Hillary is happy with her tainted rank win.
This type of supremacy is usually never spoken but understood. It is championed within certain peer groups and assumed understood and adhered by those who are not of the peer group.
It is the challenge of the Senator from Illinois of status quo American politics, the judicial system, the docile will of those living the American nightmare, the forgotten Americans and ability to lead the masses in rebellion against an institution that was established and has been fortified for centuries that has drawn out the benefactors to take a final stand against the loss power that is threatened.
I agree with anonymous that this will change, should we choose to fight, this change will be similar to a second civil war for this country. The challenge is to convince many that they need to fight!
This is not the 90's , the 80's the 60's..
The pundits keep trying to replay stuff about the 50's for heaven's sake.
This election is about today and it is about a whole demographic that is more vocal, more activist, more educated, more intelligent than any Democractic demographic ever....
I think the party leaders need to educate themselves...the party voters are already ahead of them.
Great post.
Obama is winning.
The MSM and many of their forces are doing everything they can for us to forget that but millions of people have voted for Obama.
Some because of who he is.
Some because of what he plans to do.
And some because of what he represents.
I hate to get all metaphysical about this but I think Obama campaign represents a battle happening in this country between those who are aware and those who are asleep.
His campaign challenges white supremacy and a dozen other structural and mental limitations that have been designed to keep us asleep and afraid.
As much as the Clinton's try to change the scoreboard, Obama's campaign has permanently changed the political game and that is good news indeed.
We will continue to do so as we feel comfortable with our expenses.
If you're feeling bad, watch Olbermann tonight. At the very least, it should calm your nerves.
I've said for awhile now, that the reason the Black Middle Class and Professional Class were the first to fully embrace Obama, is because we see in him, our own struggles in Corporate America. We understand all-to-well on changing the rules in the middle of the game, and then have folks look at you as if you shoudl have known about the new rules. We know all about moving the bar just as the end is in sight. We relate to Obama on a visceral level on this point...which is why it indeed so personal for us.
the flip side to the racist agenda is the historic moment that obama has created. will america fail the test in a frenzy of swiftboats and bogus analysis. i don't see that ending.
Hillpatine HAS NOT.

Part of it is fear of the CLintons but the BULK of it is they want this Black guy to "prove" himself. I've said on any number of occasions if Obama was white he would hav elocked this thing up a long time ago.
By the way...don't you all find it nice and convenient for Hillary who now believes in "redemption" and "death bed miracles" when its ok for her to "bridge" the social divdes.
Hmmm!!
It's always been my opinion that if Barack were to pull this off, it would be an event of BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS!!! There aren't many examples in history of a majority population electing a minority to the highest seats of power.
There's hope ... I'm hopeful, but.. well you know.. it's a white mans WORLD!
My point is, she gets to redeem people who some might find offensive, but, others are held to a very different standard???
McCain is worst person of the world today for requesting Hagee's endorsement.
I liked this paragraph:
For Clinton, trouble does not end with Obama's potential gain of new superdelegates. The Obama campaign launched a cold-war style arms race in Pennsylvania, spending so much money that he effectively bankrupted the Clinton campaign. As of April, Obama has $42 million cash on hand to Clinton's $9 million - and Clinton is $10 million in the red. Like Reagan did to the Soviet Union, Barack Obama spent the Clinton Empire to death. With the little money she had left, she needed to buy herself a much larger victory. She needed to buy herself a new rationale for her tired candidacy. Instead, all she bought herself was a little more time.
She has enough money, why won't she lend her campaign some more money?
...What they do to us today they'll do to you tomorrow.
She won but she won just the margin that we (the pragmatists, in spite of our dreams) worked towards. Yes, they've rounded it up to ten, heck who wouldn't?, but she ain't nothing but abroke, broke. That's right, I said it and I'm laughing while I type it.
I can't even stay mad at her for more than ten minutes anymore because either her ways work and the DNC gets the president it deserves (Michelle is so on) or we keep working like we have been and WE get the president we deserve.
Today I'm laughing with you. I'm laughing at the desperation and attempts to spin. She needed a blowout in Pennsylvania and 9.2% does not a blowout make.
I don't think working with Scaife bothered her all because she's doing it to severely damage Obama for the general. She knows the end is in sight, she wants to keep her supporters filled with hope so when the DNC steps in (I think in two weeks)her supports will feel like the nomination was taken away from her and they will vote Republican.
Olbermann accussed her of working triangularly with the Republicans and said that there was enough proof that it was not a conspiracy theory.
The DNC should be meeting now trying to figure out how to stop this damage.
She knows the end is in sight, she wants to keep her supporters filled with hope so when the DNC steps in (I think in two weeks)her supports will feel like the nomination was taken away from her and they will vote Republican.
...and then, there will be a huge outcry from her supporters demanding she be part of the ticket. If Barack chooses someone else, they will go away enraged and refuse to vote for him. This essentially twists his arm and denies him the right of picking a baggage-free, complimentary running mate. This is some ugly scenario.
I hope - if it comes down to this - that Barack names a running mate before that point to outmaneuver her....or at least say he's already offered it to someone else..lol.
Good f*ckeen grief.
i.e., "Support Obama, or you're a white supremacist."
Utterly pitiful.
http://stuffblackpeoplehate.com/
lolo,
that's why I enjoyed Olbermann tonight. Chuck Todd was dazzling, beating those numbers like Ike did Tina.
Pledged Delegates? Nope.
Popular Vote? Nope.
He was running through those numbers and just made it simple - by any metric, she can't do it.
Richard Wolffe was also entertaining. I think he's very fair - he's about as balanced as they come on the networks.
And, a nice shoutout to Michelle Bernard, who called a spade a spade (pun intended), when she said that the Clintons would play the Race Card in dismissing an Obama win in North Carolina. I've been watching her for awhile now, so I think I can tell. She's ' bitter' about the race-baiting of Obama. She's a Republican, no doubt, but she's offended- as a Black woman - at the attacks on Obama by the Clintons. I loved her explictly saying ' THE RACE CARD' when talking about The Clintons...the rest of them on the panel wanted to say something, but they shut the #($* up, because they knew what she was saying was true.
I say screw her with her own words..
and if they want a White Woman on the ticket, choose Sebelius, McCaskill or Napolitano.
I don't believe the amount raised, and think it's spinning to create the illusion of wiping out the debt.
"Richard Wolffe was also entertaining. I think he's very fair - he's about as balanced as they come on the networks. "
Yup, and whenever he chuckles, the situation is really laughable.
I think she wants people to believe that she picked up some new support in winning PA - bs!
They are working on illusion.
What do you think about Indiana?
I'm from downstate Illinois, but I've been gone 12 years, but they just don't seem like PA to me.
http://obamavsmccain.typepad.com/
I am an affluent, straight, white father of a multi-racial family The whole family together has a veritable shit- load of graduate degrees. I am proudly feminist yet in retrospect can see that I have cashed my white male privilege ticket on more occasions than I can count. Shit, all I had to do sometimes was smile and say something half-smart and someone was writing me a “white” check. In fact, white privilege has been so abundant that I have gotten it when I didn’t want it or even when I refused it. Shit, even when I returned some freebie, I was liable to wake up to find its benefits crawling up my behind.
But what’s my point?
Well I have several:
This will sound arrogant, but I am simply too fucking smart, with too much political experience, to buy Hillary’s load of shit that campaigning is rough and that everybody attacks and that they are both comparably slamming each other. Bullshit. I will resist writing an extended essay on this, but the quantity and vitriole of Hillary Clinton’s attacks are infinitely more mongo and hateful than anything offered by Barack Obama. You can squawk that crap about “heat in the kitchen” all you want Billary, but Ill tell you a secret that you might not believe: Some of us are even smarter than you, with the same and even more Ivy League degrees that you have, although your world view honestly seems to leave absolutely no room for that possibility to occur among any living homo sapiens non-Clintonus.
You are fighting filthy and my candidate is fighting ferociously.
Get the difference? Filthy vs. ferocious.
And Hill, cut the emasculating patronizing phony-ass bullshit of taunting Barack that he can’t stand the heat every time he responds to one of your shit-balls. It’s the shit he can’t stand, the vicious racist infantilizing damning with faint praise, the taunts that you and your race-baiting husband always deliver with a smarmy grin. Not the heat.
Ill give you one thing: You are smart enough to never have called him ‘boy.” But listen carefully: You are pathetically transparent. The cumulative subtext of every attack and grin and insinuation and subtle move of your head and every patronizing and completely disingenuous “compliment” you have thrown his way has been screaming: “BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!”
Actually I am a little ashamed about one thing. There are moments when I see you taunting him in such a slime-ass emasculating way that that I am afraid my lifetime of fierce feminism is in jeopardy of heading down the toilet. I gotta watch myself. Someone help me here.
Then there is this bat-shit “repudiation list.” Anyone dark enough to even have a fucking sun tan who wants to run for office has to pass the test of repudiating every black woman or man who ever looked cross-eyed at a white person. What nonsense! Why has no one ever prevailed on my white ass to repudiate David Duke, Timothy McVeigh, George Lincoln Rockwell, Frank Rizzo, and the Posse Comitatus?
Ill tell you why: Because I get the unwritten yet crystal clear white man’s BWBB pass (Boys Will Be Boys) that allows me to evolve as a human being and experiment and change and mature and meet whoever I want -- to get a DWI here, utter a racial slur there -- without having to answer for those associations for the rest of my life. Because I’m a white man. I mature over time. I grow out of shit.
A black man doesn’t grown and evolve in this narrative, he steadily accumulates baggage that he can never – not fucking ever – lose, baggage that’s always there when you want to insinuate that, well, there’s something just not right about this (N-WORD).
Seriously, imagine this scenario: Barack’s amazing mother was a real life force, a free spirit. What if by some chance she had taken him to the Unification Church for a couple months when he was 12? Who wants to tell me that this would not somehow be insinuated into the craposphere by Billary as evidence of strangeness, of cult-inclinations, of moonie-ness? Not in a direct attack, but as something that just wasn’t quite right.
As far as I can see, this brilliant, inspiring, ferocious black man, this man who will be our next President without your abundant sorry-ass on the ticket Hillary, has to answer for and repudiate and explain every fucking person he has met in his life and everything he has ever said, eaten, swallowed, inhaled, unttered or thought.
This is a true story: A sainted high school civics teacher of mine, a civil rights activist, took me to see George Wallace during his 1968 campaign as a way of helping me explore and understand what the most vile hate looks like up close. He was a white southerner who revered MLK and Wallace was appearing at a bowling alley, and surrounded by a bunch of cracker racist white men. It was dicey and a pretty damn menacing scene. We got in the receiving line and actually shook his hand. And then he took me outside and we spent three of the most valuable hours of my life discussing and learning about the nature and subtleties of white supremacy.
Let’s say that someone snapped a picture of me that night. I say that today I could tell the story of this extraordinary teacher in such a way that he would end up looking like the educator of the year and I would look like a young Morris Dees (one of my heroes) in training going to face down evil incarnate. I even have high school friends who remember the whole deal.
Now you tell me: Is there one single tiny fucking thing Barack could ever do in the same admittedly unlikely circumstance, any word or phrase he could utter, anything that anyone would even listen to, if by some bizarre chance he had had a similar teacher and a Farakhan picture emerged? Hell, Im not even sure Barack would be given half a chance to explain a picture of himself with fucking Art Linkletter.
He’s be finished. Not me. Id be someone who learned about hate at an early age wenut and faced evil because of a visionary teacher.
Hillary, I;m beggin you: Get your vicious emasculating white ass off the stage already before you single-handedly start a race war AND squander all the hard fought gains of four decades of courageous feminist and racial struggle.
Go on now. Off the fucking stage. Now.
I did. NOt surprised, and of course, they had an excuse for it. Whatever.
Did they mention that Obama was the one who got it passed that all murder interrogations had to be done on videotape?
WORD
to your entire post. I hear ya. Loud and Clear.
Indiana is a tossup to me. It really is, but he will have a money advantage, and he can flood the area with people from Illinois.
but what means "WORD?"
Anonymous 9:14
It wasn't creepy if you saw it for what it was.
Rightwing/Hillary bullshit.
You said it so well, I have nothing to add.
You told it all, like a good sermon.
One of the members of the Contintental Congress said God damn the King.
Sound familiar.
"To his disappointment, two parties were developing by the end of his first term. Wearied of politics, feeling old, he retired at the end of his second. In his Farewell Address, he urged his countrymen to forswear excessive party spirit and geographical distinctions. In foreign affairs, he warned against long-term alliances. "
Things haven't changed much!
Things haven't changed much!
At the time, I didn't fully process or understand what he meant. Obama's up about 155 pledged delegates over Hillary, and she gained, what, nine? How can that have "restored balance" to the race? I chalked it up to the media rooting for a horserace, but remained uneasy. The quote stuck in my mind.
I mean, there's something almost "Star Wars" about that quote, isn't there? That "the Force" was "out of balance" before Hillary's Pennsylvania win, but her win has "restored balance" to the Force.
Your post made me understand just what the Force is. The "out of balance" situation that existed before Pennsylvania was that a black man was winning the nomination. The Pennsylvania win "restored balance" to the race -- now things are as they OUGHT to be, with the contest "momentum" possessed by a white First Lady whose husband brought home $109 million over the last 7 years.
"On November 1, 1800, just before the election, Adams arrived in the new Capital City to take up his residence in the White House. On his second evening in its damp, unfinished rooms, he wrote his wife, "Before I end my letter, I pray Heaven to bestow the best of Blessings on this House and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise Men ever rule under this roof."
Well they messed that one up!
1. Do a special speech on race, and say how racist you were in Pennsylvania. You did everthing but burn a cross. You were phoney as hell .Getting drunk, talking about hunting and for what , to appeal to racist.
2. Appologize to Rev.Jeremicah Wright. This Veteran got death threats because of you.You never heard a sermon like that, ministers that went to college do it all the time , the effect is called a Device. He had you and your sorry ass husbands backs when your family was hurting.
3. Appologize to ALL Americans in particularly Blacks. My mother went through Jim Crow so that you racist ass can call US Nigger. You has Stephannie Tubbs-Jones call me one,Bob Johnson call me one then some sorry old ass lady call me one that I voted for before. She even said that I had it easy because I'm black.
4.Tell Fox you don't need help from those racist. Not Sean Hannity or his anti-semitic bomber friend , Bill O'reilly or his sexual molesting self.Tell the American people that there is no MSM . That white people control everthing and you're greedy and hate to share sh!t.
5. Tell them why Sen.Barack Obama could not respond to you. He could not bring up race, but you and Fox and the MSM can.He couldn't call you out of your name , but you could do that to him.
6. Have your husband appologize. We considered him a honorary black, but in reality he was bush lite. Now blacks have a choice. I was going to vote for you ,but when I see the whole USA call me Nigger and you stand there and giggle I said fuck you.Yes you are a woman but my moms a black woman and below that's me NIGGER. You do this it would be good for a start, but when I see little old black ladies from the south look at you every day on TV and get madder and madder I don't know what's up. Your in league with O'reilly, Limbaugh,Hannity ,Beck ,Medved, and eveery other bigot that want me dead.
Apologize
History will not look kindly on all this. These days, every scrap of footage is archived, every word saved. I wonder as these pundits look back on their actions, what they'll think.
I am so grateful to everyone for this discussion being here. Thank you all so much.
The more I get into where I'm at right now at this particular point in time, and also thinking about what people are writing here .... the more I find my attention focused on the Democratic Party and its leadership. Even more than the Clintons and even more than the media, and certainly more so than "the white we mean um 'regular' blue collar voters."
JJ said, I knew there was no getting this race done with not just because of Hillary but because the party elders, superdelegates and DNC didn't want to.
Part of it is fear of the CLintons but the BULK of it is they want this Black guy to "prove" himself. I've said on any number of occasions if Obama was white he would hav elocked this thing up a long time ago.
I keep trying to console myself with "the numbers" and "he'll win the nomination eventually" but it isn't working for me.
The whole thing is making me sick at a deep level and this such a huge part of why.
Here there is this amazing quality leader who is stepping up and saying he is willing to take on this intense job at a very very difficult time. And, he is willing to do it under the banner of the Democratic Party.
And at the same time there is this obviously corrupt person who wants to be president for the power, to be one of "history's (imperial) actors" -- creating reality, as discussed in an earlier thread here -- and she is attacking as she is.
And to me the sane response to this kind of situation from the Democratic Party should be to not only actively have the back of this high quality leader, but also at the same time to step up and say to Hillary Clinton, as loudly and publicly as need be, with no confusion about it at all: "What you are doing is over the line, it is not acceptable to us, and you can't do this and be part of our party. Period."
But no. Instead it is this dynamic of supporting her white privilege and of "prove it to us Black guy."
And in this white supremacist logic, it also somehow becomes valuable to have Ms. Hillary on the attack against someone in her own party.
It toughens Senator Obama up, does it? Bull. Shit. To me it seems that if his own party had his back and was doing the right thing to start with, this kind of nonsense would not be necessary for a minute. Offer him the resources of the party and assist him that way, okay?
Here's how I get in situations like this, it's always the same for me: I always want so much to flip the dynamic on its head. So now I am internally personally tired of accepting the power dynamic of "suck up to the superdelegates" and "hope the Democratic Party does the right thing."
But as I see it, the Democratic Party leadership should be freaking grateful that someone with Senator Obama's skills and abilities and ethos is willing to run for president under their party's not-necessarily-deserving banner. They should be grateful and they should back that up with action in support of what he is doing and where he is going.
Instead they are letting him do all the heavy lifting while they sit back and judge his worth and act like they would be doing him a favor to grant him their special nomination.
And if he does get the nomination and if he does become the president, the Democratic Party gets the credit (look a Democrat is now president) without having to do the work to make it there, and in fact having made the work so much harder than it had to be and should have been.
Tomorrow, I'll find the DNC email addresses and send that comment to them as Felicia said I should (I'm just going to google it so if anyone has better info please post the email here and I'll use/add that). But you know, I really don't have faith that they will care. Because I think they have been running this power dynamic all along. Anyway, if I get any sort of answer I'll post it in a comment here.
But where my attention goes is with wanting so bad to flip the dynamic (even if I don't know if its possible that is what I end up yearning for in situations like this). I want Democratic Party leadership etc to be under active scrutiny and actively judged by the people it is currently failing in a way that puts it on trial.
As I see it, it is failing tests left and right in this campaign season. It is failing to proving itself worthy of what it will get if Senator Obama is president under its banner, and it needs to do better.
What leverage is there for this, I don't know because I am terrible at movement strategy, always have been.
Anon @ 05:29:00 & Ms. Martin @ 06:14:00, I'm reminded of what you're saying as I write this.
We need to be more dilligent in expressing our rejection of Billary.
This was expected--Obama threatens to change the status quo and isnt beholden to fat cats and lobbyist and that scares ALOT of FOLKS thus the triangulation of Obama by FOX, REPUBS AND HRC.
DID I say WE need to be vocal and active in expressing our rejection of HRC and the HHHs that support her?
LAstly everyone take a WOOSAAAHH moment...Barack will win the nom.
HRC did get 150K votes in Philly, no doubt due to Nutter and the pay us for votes crew..40K vote swing to Barack and we have a diff narrative.
Also this was the numbers YESTERDAY:
99.34% precincts reporting.
Candidate Votes Percent
CLINTON, HILLARY (DEM)
1,237,696 54.3%
OBAMA, BARACK (DEM)
1,043,174 45.7%
THESE ARE NUMBERS TODAY
CLINTON, HILLARY (DEM)
1,238,232 54.6%
OBAMA, BARACK (DEM)
1,030,703 45.4%
Barack suddenly lost 13k votes and HRC gained 1k..Yes it has not been certified but how is he loosing votes?
How I must measure and temper every word and action to avoid management repurcussions, while white female subordinates are free to freely speak their mind without consequence.
But I guess that this was bound to be the case. We knew that Barack's success would threaten the status quo. I guess we just didn't expect that the status quo were those who called us "friends".
"vote for obama or you are white supremacist"...
deal with it! be true to yourself! if the shoe fits !...
obama has your racist butt cornered!
From the Politico...Roger Simon
Run, Hillary, run.
Run in Guam, run in North Carolina, run in Indiana. Run in each and every one of the nine contests that are left.
Then make some states do their contests over.
Should Barack Obama's victory in Vermont really count? I don't think Vermont is actually a state. I think it is technically a socialist republic. Have somebody check this out.
And Obama's victory in Alaska? Are you kidding me? They let caribou vote in Alaska.
And do some other stuff that levels the playing field: Raise the voting age to 65 in all the remaining contests, for instance.
You do great with this group, Sen. Clinton. Younger people don't really care about who becomes president anyway. All they want to do is go on this World Wide Interweb thing that they keep talking about.
And while you are at it, Senator, cap all salaries at $50,000 a year, take away all college degrees and give everybody a gun. The demographics are clear: That is your base vote.
Also, no men get to vote unless they have a note from a woman saying they are mentally competent. (Good luck with that!)
And, Sen. Clinton, keep portraying yourself as a sympathetic underdog. That works much better than when you were the inevitable overlord.
In Haverford, Pa., last Thursday, you told the crowd: "Just knock on the door and say, 'You know, she's really nice.' Or you could say it another way: 'She's not as bad as you think.'"
It is a theme that worked in Pennsylvania and will work elsewhere. I can see the billboards now: "Hillary Clinton. Not as Bad as You Think."
But do not give up the kitchen sink stuff, Senator. Make it a Good Hillary/Bad Hillary kind of campaign.
Good Hillary talks about the dreamy, gooey, feel-good stuff, like when, in your victory speech from Philadelphia Tuesday night, you said: "We are, in many ways, all on this journey together to create an America that embraces every last one of us. ... I believe with all of my heart that together we will turn promises into action, words will become solutions, hope will become reality."
But Bad Hillary can't go away. You have to have the Hillary who says Obama is "elitist" and "demeaning," and you have to keep running ads that portray him as the guy who won't be able to protect us from the Great Depression, Pearl Harbor, long lines at the gas pump, Osama bin Laden or ringing telephones.
And speaking of Osama bin Laden, isn't he a Muslim? And didn't Bad Hillary say Obama was not a Muslim "as far as I know"? Keep up that subtle stuff. It is gold.
And then, of course, bribe the superdelegates. These are the 794 party insiders who have one standard for all their decisions in life: "What's in it for me?"
So offer them something. You know how many interstate rest stops there are? They have to be named for somebody. And promise the holdouts that they will be appointed ambassador to Bermuda. It doesn't matter that they all can't be ambassador to Bermuda, because we don't have an ambassador to Bermuda. (Say it was Bill's idea.)
And even if you can't get ahead in the delegate count, don't stop running!
Go to the convention in Denver and chain yourself to the front door of the Pepsi Center and refuse to leave unless every resident of Florida and Michigan -- not just the rogue delegates but all 26 million residents! -- is seated inside and gets to cast a ballot for you.
What's the worst that could happen? Howard Dean comes out and bites you on the ankle? Forget about it. I could carve a tougher guy out of tofu.
But most of all, Sen. Clinton, never give up, never surrender.
And remember: There's always 2012
A vote against him is a vote against yourself and for your corrupt government.
He speaks to you of the Founding Fathers and creation of this nation reciting the documents that were meant to guide us through our maturity, these documents were not created to delve your conscience for a glimmer of morality, but to ensure that no goverment should be greater than its people and that no government should be used against its people; that when the government of the people no longer works for the people but for the financial and egotistical benefict of a few it should be dismantled and reassembled.
It is very simple. Whether you are black, white, hispanic, asian, jewish, irish, catholic or christian, if you live in the United States of America your government is failing you.
Your government does not work for the people, but against them in favor of a few.
George Bush is not just a poor manager, but similiar to a tyrannical dictator. He has ignored the very law of the country he was chosen to lead; he has used resources of the country to benefit a few financially while the people lose their homes, face prices for basic needs that are crippling their budgets and endangering their well-being. He has assembled a judicial body that seeks to deny you civil rights.
Hillary Clinton is promising you she can, as a Democrat, change what George Bush has done because she is a Democrat. What she does not tell you and what SBO is trying to tell you is that while she may know the workings of Washington, she is complicit in behavior that brought us to where we are, behavior that many common men are unaware of that is the very behavior that George Bush is guilty of.
Hillary and Bill Clinton were able to amass their 109 million fortune after leaving the Whitehouse because of controls that they set in place while they were in the Whitehouse. They formed allegiances and monolopies with companies and foreign governments and sold the future of the American people. The Clintons made deals and passed legislature that worked to the detriment of its people. They would have you believe that because the working-class man made a few dollars more that they were good for him.
While the average man made a $1,000 more a year while they were in office, their friends and allies made millions a year while they were in office and they made hundreds of thousands more a year after they left office based on the allegiances they made while they were in office.
I think it is time for SBO to drive his message hard. It is time to just tell the common man exactly what he means.

I sent Obama double donation from my budget this month. I wasn't expecting (like Obama camp) for a PA win, but at least he wasn't beat by double digits. The majority of posts have been spot on. For the past few days I've had a heavy feeling in my heart, and this topic from Michelle, previously from Jack a couple of days ago,so eloquently described what I was feeling. I couldn't properly articulate my frustration to my fiancee. I thank you for finding the words.
Jack you are doing a fine job! Please get well soon and know that you are supported in your efforts. You've inspired me to write and address the issues as well!
According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics 2004 report (released May 2006), blacks commit 54 percent of the homicides in America even though they constitute only 12 percent of the population.
An individual black male is seven times more likely to commit murder than an individual white male. It so happens that black felons commit 43 percent of aggravated assaults, 66 percent of armed robberies, 27 percent of rapes and 85 percent of interracial crimes of violence, mainly against whites (this last figure from a Justice Department report 2003). However, it's not just in the United States. The greatest dicators in recent years have emerged in Africa. People like Idi Amin of Uganda, Hastings Kamuzu Banda in Malawi, Mobutu Sese Seko, in Zaire, self-anointed Emperor Bokassa of the Central African Republic, Mohammed Saidi Barre in Somalia, Sani Abacha of Nigeria, Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe -- the list is endless.
Blacks are dumber as well, statistics analyzed by the New York Times (July 4, 1999) dispel the poverty argument by establishing that impoverished white children whose parents earn less than $10,000 a year score higher on standardized SAT tests than black children whose parents earn more than $70,000 a year. Also, nearly 70 percent of black children are born out of wedlock.
