  • What's more interesting is that they've found that cross-eyed black conservative to talk about Obama's patriotism. I hope the Republicans don't believe this is going to work. Patriotic values, what in the hell does that mean?
  • Thanks for this post--yesterday, I'd read the NYT op-ed from Thomas Schaller, author of Whistling Past Dixie, who made the case against Obama in Southern States and I thought his numbers sounded specious. Good to see others thinking similarly.

Schaller did, however, have a similar thesis about white voters, which led me to wonder where the increased turnout from white voters would come from, demographically speaking. It'd seem that the most growth for white voters could come from young voters, a demographic that trends toward Obama.
  • I should say, too - don't forget us brown voters.

Latinos are currently polling a good bit higher for Obama than they ever did for Kerry.

Asians could make a difference in states like Virginia and Oregon if it's close.
  • msmartin,

You've got to be talking about Ron Christie.

    LOL

    Sambo Sellout that he is.

I don't agree with Schaller. If Obama happens to take some of those Southern States, then Schaller's entire talking points for the last 2 years will go down the tubes.

See, I don't agree with ' Whistling Past Dixie', because that would mean that a MAJORITY of the Black population would be given up electorally. And, I'm not down with that.

Obama is doing well with Latinos. He should dispatch his sister to the Asian and Latino communities (she's fluent in Spanish).
  • Good comment.
Sen Obama speaks fluent spanish as well as THREE other languages. He just does not play himself out and goodness knows what the msm and the "hard working white folks" would say if they heard him speaking "foreign".
  • Yes I am. I usually wouldn't point out his disability, but I can't take much more of him. I can barely follow his conversation, his condition is distracting.
  • It was hard not to laugh throughout wandering eyed Sambo's spiel. I thought my bandwidth had dropped. Dang - couldn't they have found a better lap dog? I do like any discussion of Obama not taking the Black vote for granted but the way it was misused by Sambo negated the affirmation.

OT - OMG Billy Dee Williams is hawking for FISA violator #1 AT&T.
  • Excuse me. I have to pay my light bill and I have a bad habit of needing to EAT!!!!
Let's all think a big picture when we discuss suing companies for complying with presidential orders.
This is not a game folks.
You want free healthcare for errbody, but you want telecoms to lose millions and lay people off.
You can't have it both ways. Let's just fix the damn bill and move on!
  • I wonder how much proponents of tort reform have to do with the telecomm immunity. I think SBO wants to pass legislation regarding tort reform. IMO these lawsits would not be frivilous.
  • Oh so true.
  • Rikyrah,

    Sambo Sellout.

    I like it.
  • You have to be crosseyed to read Republican talking points and find any truth to them.
  • LMAO.
  • If they'll f&^$*-up Kerry and Gore's votes you know they have an even better system for Obama this year.
